The Incubus System Chapter 839. Consequence

Ethanʼs PoV

The cool breeze brushed against the cityscape. I made my way to the rooftop of the royal mansion, flanked by my loyal servants and accompanied by my pets.

Gathering everyone on the rooftop, I glanced at their expectant faces. Their curiosity was evident. They hadnʼt heard of the colossal eye either.

Clearing my throat, I began to relay my discussion with Lord Damon, but I explained the limited information.

They listened intently.

After an intense discussion and the exchange of information on the colossal eye with my pets and loyal servants, I decided it was time to return to the human world and opened a portal to my house. I also sent my servants back.

Then I checked out my partners by telepathing them.

Fortunately, all were accounted for and safe, except for Mia.

Miaʼs situation was particularly troubling. She had gone back to her kingdom and attempted to discuss crucial matters, including Puriel and the vaccine, with her sister and other government members.

Regrettably, the timing couldnʼt have been worse. The recent colossal attack and my sudden appearance in my demon lord form had struck fear deep into their hearts.

The situation was exacerbated by the fact that all the demon compasses, instruments used to measure power, had malfunctioned and blew up upon my strength.

The outcome? My power was beyond any previous estimations, leaving the council, Miaʼs sister, and other government officials utterly unnerved.

Under these circumstances, Miaʼs proposal was met with rejection. Her efforts, though noble, were met with resistance due to the situation and the unanticipated display of my strength, and also my identity.

It was a heavy blow.

I found myself in a situation that required more than just apologies. It wasnʼt my fault that Miaʼs proposal got rejected, but I couldnʼt ignore the impact. I offered my sincere apologies, reassuring her that I appreciated all her efforts, even if the outcome wasnʼt as anticipated.

ʼSorry, Mia. I didnʼt mean for things to go south,ʼ I expressed. ʼI appreciate everything youʼve tried to do. It wasnʼt in your hands, and my unexpected appearance just added to the chaos.ʼ

Concerned, I asked her about her next plan, curious about her intentions given the circumstances. Mia mentioned she intended to stay in her kingdom for a while, attending the engagement of one of the nobles. With a hopeful voice, she wished for my company during the event.

ʼWill you be there with me?ʼ Mia asked. ʼIt would be a great opportunity, Ethan. I need your support. I hope you could accompany me,ʼ she suggested.

I couldnʼt help but agree. ʼOf course, Mia. Iʼll be there. Itʼs a chance for us to make some headway,ʼ I agreed. It was a perfect opportunity to engage with the influential people of the kingdom.

There were various ways to approach the situation, and I couldnʼt help but consider the options. It could involve discussions and negotiations, or the simpler and more direct approach: manipulation. With so much on my plate and many tasks at hand, I contemplated using my abilities in a way that would serve the greater good.

Mrs. Clea also conveyed troubling news. The incident had pushed the demon hunter organization to accelerate its Angel Creation Project.

And then came the bombshell. A decision from the senators to arrest me, Ethan, and made me into a weapon. It was less an arrest and more of a kidnapping. I had no choice but to comply with their demands.

However, even amid the chaos, I also thought of Jill. I had to ensure her safety amidst the threats and dangers.

I requested Mrs. Clea to swiftly relocate Jill from my house. She was innocent.

The prospect of the human world discovering my true identity as a demon lord was a looming threat. I hoped that if that day ever arrived, Jill wouldnʼt be swept into the chaos. I wanted her to remain in the human world, to live as a human, and most importantly, to be treated with the kindness and innocence she deserved. ℝΆ₦ȏ𝐁ЕŚ

The chaotic storm calmed and the immediate threats receded.

I found a moment to catch my breath. It was well past lunchtime when I slumped onto the sofa. The television screen flickered, broadcasting the recent fight with Beel.
