Chapter 805: Traumatized

The Incubus System Chapter 796. Traumatized

I blinked in surprise, setting my drink down with a swift movement. ”Looks like my breakʼs over,” I muttered, pushing myself up from the sofa.

Celia glanced at me with concern, her brows furrowing. ”Whatʼs going on?” she asked, her voice tinged with worry.

I met her gaze, my expression serious. ”Mrs. Clea needs me at the Childrenʼs Clinic. Somethingʼs up,” I explained, my tone matching the situationʼs urgency.

Celia nodded, her concern deepening. ”Do you need backup?” she offered.

I shook my head, a small smile tugging at my lips. ”Not this time,” I replied.

Foxy and the rest of my pets were already watching, their expressions a mix of curiosity and readiness. ”Go, Master. Weʼll be here,” Foxy said, her tone filled with assurance.

I gave her a grateful nod, my gaze sweeping over my loyal companions. ”Thanks, everyone. I wonʼt be long,” I reassured them, already using my portal skill to vanish from the room.

I reappeared on the side of the alley just a stoneʼs throw from the childrenʼs clinic near my residence.

With a sense of urgency, I briskly walked towards the clinic, my thoughts focused on what happened. As I entered the building, I instinctively headed towards the reception area.

Approaching the receptionistʼs desk, I leaned forward slightly, catching the attention of the person behind it. ”Iʼm Mrs. Cleaʼs friend,” I began, my voice steady. ”She should be here with a girl named Jill and a boy named Alan.”

The receptionist, a middle-aged woman with a friendly demeanor, looked up from her computer screen, her eyes narrowing slightly as she assessed me. ”Oh, yes. She mentioned you,” she replied, her tone indicating recognition. ”Sheʼs waiting for you in the room at the end of the corridor. Just go on in.”

I nodded in gratitude, a faint smile playing on my lips. ”Thank you,” I said.

With a sense of purpose, I followed her directions, my steps quickening as I made my way down the corridor.

Wasting no time, I hurried my steps down the dimly lit corridor, my heart racing as the urgency of the situation intensified. The muffled sounds of distress grew louder as I approached the room, the cacophony of fear and panic piercing the air like a siren. With each step, I braced myself for what I might find.

As I stepped into the room, the chaotic scene unfolded before me. Jillʼs piercing screams echoed off the walls.

Mrs. Clea held her close, her arms wrapped tightly around the trembling girl, attempting to soothe her in the midst of the chaos.

Alanʼs face was etched with concern.

The room itself was in disarray, as if a tempest had passed through.

Beds lay toppled over, medical instruments scattered across the floor like discarded toys. Nurses moved about in haste, their expressions a mix of confusion and discomfort. Some held onto various parts of their bodies, suggesting they had been caught in the chaos.

Jillʼs wild eyes darted around the room, her hysteria plain to see.

”No! I donʼt want it anymore! It hurts!” she cried out, her voice raw with anguish.

Her gaze was fixed on the doctors and nurses, her fear clearly directed at them.

”What happened?” I asked, my concern evident in my voice as I approached the scene. My eyes shifted between Mrs. Cleaʼs distressed expression and Jillʼs trembling form.

Mrs. Clea looked at me. ”We were trying to perform a medical examination on Jill,” she explained, her voice tight with strain. ”But as soon as we tried to touch her, she started thrashing and screaming. It was like she had a sudden burst of superhuman strength.”

My brows furrowed in understanding as I took in the situation. I approached Jill, my steps deliberate to avoid escalating her fear further.

As I reached out to offer comfort, my touch confirmed what Mrs. Clea had described. There was a noticeable difference in Jillʼs strength, one that belied her young age and appearance.

Despite having seemingly normal attributes in terms of HP and MP, Jillʼs physical strength was anything but ordinary. It was a revelation that explained the chaos that had unfolded in the room. It also indicated that there was more to Jill than met the eye.

I positioned myself carefully, using my strength to offer a gentle but firm hold that would prevent any further harm to her or those around her.

Quickly assessing the situation, I focused on Jill, my voice gentle yet firm. ”Hey, Jill. Itʼs okay,” I said. ”Nobodyʼs going to hurt you here. Youʼre safe.”

”No! Donʼt hurt me!” she yelled again.

Mrs. Cleaʼs eyes met mine, her expression a mix of desperation and gratitude.

We worked to create a sense of calm, a bubble of reassurance amidst the storm of emotions. It was clear that something had triggered a deeply ingrained fear within Jill, something that went beyond the chaos in the room.

”Jill, look at me,” I said, my tone soothing. ”Focus on my voice. Breathe with me. Itʼs okay,” I said softly, my voice a reassuring presence amidst the turmoil. ”Iʼve got you. Youʼre safe now.” I focused on her, my gaze steady.
