The Incubus System Chapter 818. Gluttony King II

Realizing that Beel had fortified his defenses, I knew I needed a new approach.

In a split second, I activated my teleportation skill, vanishing from my current position and reappearing behind him, where the jelly-like substance was at its thinnest due to the impact of my spikes. This strategic move allowed me to bypass his enhanced protection and positioned me closer to his core, which remained my primary target.

I reappeared about ten meters away from Beel and wasted no time summoning my Demonic Spike skill once more.

A barrage of black lances materialized and sped toward their target, homing in on the thinnest section of his gelatinous form.

With the increased distance between us, I expected these lances to penetrate deeply enough to reach his core. However, my optimism was misplaced.

Beelʼs body reacted swiftly. Instead of dodging or retreating, he manipulated the thick, jelly-like substance surrounding his core. It bulged and expanded, creating an even more substantial barrier, thwarting my lances once again.

My plan to create a path to his core before striking it with my sword had hit another roadblock.

As my lances bore into Beelʼs gelatinous form, I noticed the jelly-like layer around his core growing thinner with each penetration. The process was accompanied by a cacophony of hissing sounds, like a boiling cauldron. I thought I was making progress, but then something unexpected happened.

Beelʼs core began to move. It shifted within his body, seemingly swimming effortlessly within the gelatinous mass. It was a surreal sight, as though the core had a mind of its own, seeking to evade my relentless assault. My efforts to create an opening to reach it were being countered at every turn.

I widened my eyes in shock. ʼWhat?!ʼ I thought.

In the midst of my intense battle with Beel, something unexpected occurred. I witnessed strange fluctuations emanating from his monstrous body.

To my horror, acidic orbs began to emerge from all over him. They sprouted like grotesque tumors, numbering in the hundreds, if not thousands. It was a deadly development.

Instinctively, I summoned a barrier, but it was too narrow to provide complete protection. The orbs were closing in rapidly, and I braced myself for the impending onslaught.

[A barrier has formed!]

The acidic orbs, malevolent and relentless, surged toward me like a swarm of deadly wasps. They slammed into my barrier with a sickening thud, their corrosive potency evident as they sizzled and fizzled upon impact. The barrier strained and quivered under the relentless assault, as if it might shatter at any moment.

I gritted my teeth and focused all my willpower on maintaining the protective shield. The orbs pressed harder, probing for weak points, their malevolence palpable. It was a battle of attrition, and I was determined not to yield.

ʼYour Majesty, the parasite is trying to make the hosts hostage!ʼ I could hear Mariaʼs voice in my head. I was sure she had already joined the fight with Ivy.

My heart sank as I witnessed the horrifying scene below. The infected people, their eyes vacant and their movements jerky, resembled zombies under some dark curse. They were walking mindlessly atop Beel.

The acidic orbs rained down upon them, splashing and sizzling as they made contact. It was a gruesome spectacle, as the orbs dissolved flesh and bone, turning the unfortunate victims into agonized shells of their former selves.

ʼGet them out of here! No matter how! Just knock them off or something!ʼ I ordered. I canʼt do anything if there are them around me. But in the bad case, I may not be able to help them. I meant, I would try to help them, but my opponent is a demon lord, I was not sure I could fight him while protecting my surroundings. And to make it worse, Beel was a parasite type demon.

ʼOkay!ʼ Maria answered.

Beelʼs relentless assault continued, his acidic orbs raining down upon us like a never-ending storm. It was as if he had an unlimited supply of this deadly ammunition, and there was no pause in his relentless attack. The acidic spheres sizzled and burned everything they touched, creating an apocalyptic scene of destruction.

Despite our best efforts to push the infected individuals away, it was becoming increasingly difficult to keep them at bay. They stumbled and staggered, driven by Beelʼs malevolent influence, making it challenging for our group to maintain order amidst the chaos.

The scene around us had descended into utter chaos and devastation. Beelʼs relentless barrage of acidic orbs had turned the once bustling city streets into a nightmarish hellscape. The orbs hissed and sizzled as they made contact with buildings, streets, and anything else in their path.

The architecture that had once defined the city was now melting away like wax under a relentless flame. Buildings dissolved into grotesque, half-melted structures, their once proud facades reduced to dripping, nightmarish forms. The streets themselves were no better, the asphalt bubbling and liquefying as the acidic onslaught continued.

Smoke and noxious fumes filled the air, making it difficult to breathe. The acrid stench of burning materials mixed with the sickeningly sweet scent of the acidic residue, creating a horrifying olfactory cocktail. It was a disaster of epic proportions, and we were right in the heart of it.

”GIBE BACK MY FOOD!” Beel screamed and raged even worse. This time his hands moved to reach me like whips moving wildly, since I felt at disadvantage, I teleported back to retreat.

- BOOM!

The impact created a seismic shockwave, sending tremors rippling through the earth. A colossal crack tore open the street where his massive hand had landed, spider webbing outwards like a scar on the cityʼs wounded landscape.

The consequences were dire. The ground shook violently, causing even more havoc as buildings teetered and crumbled. The fires, once contained, roared to life with renewed intensity, their hungry tongues of flame leaping higher and spreading faster. Smoke billowed into the sky, darkening the already overcast day.

It was a scene of unmitigated chaos and destruction, and it seemed there was no end in sight to the nightmare we found ourselves trapped in.

I materialized a safe distance away from the colossal form of Beel. His malevolent presence loomed large, but I couldnʼt let fear overtake me now.

Summoning my Telekinesis, I reached out with my invisible power, intent on subduing the monstrous demon before me. As I willed my psychic energy to coil around him, I felt the tremendous weight of his being resisting my control.

It was a battle of raw strength and willpower. Beelʼs might was nearly equal to mine, and the invisible bonds I sought to impose on him were met with fierce resistance. The effort strained every fiber of my being, and I could feel beads of sweat forming on my brow.

But inch by inch, I gained ground. The oppressive grip of my Telekinesis began to tighten around him, constricting his monstrous form and restricting his movements. Beelʼs rampage came to a sudden, jarring halt as he struggled against the invisible restraints.
