The Incubus System Chapter 820. Different Perspective

The Demon Hunterʼs PoV

The demon hunters arrived, bursting into the battlefield with determination etched on their faces. Among them was Nathan. He had received reports about the unfolding crisis, and he knew that time was of the essence. The fate of the city hung in the balance, and he, along with his fellow hunters, was ready to do whatever it took to put an end to the demon lord.

A searing, otherworldly pain immediately pierced their chests. It was a sensation they had come to know well—an ominous reminder that they had entered a realm where the laws of reality bent and contorted. But rather than dwelling on the discomfort, their eyes were instantly drawn to the monstrous creature at the heart of the chaos.

Before them, a colossal, rampaging slime demon loomed like an abomination from the deepest recesses of their darkest nightmares. It defied all reason and logic, dwarfing even the tallest buildings in the city. The structures that once stood proud and tall now seemed like mere playthings compared to this colossal terror.

The Great Demon was locked in a fierce battle with this gargantuan foe. It was a struggle of epic proportions, and even the formidable Great Demon appeared to be taxed to his limits.

The ground trembled beneath the demon huntersʼ feet as they witnessed this titanic clash. The air was thick with the acrid stench of burning flesh and searing energy, and the sounds of the battle were deafening—a symphony of roars, thunderous impacts, and explosions that echoed through the ruined city.

”What in heaven is that?” muttered one of the seasoned demon hunters, his voice laced with disbelief as he stood at the threshold of the bizarre and the grotesque.

But Mrs. Clea startled them. ”Stop staring and get to work!” she said in annoyance.

The demon hunters swiftly turned their attention from the awe-inspiring monstrosity to the origin of a cacophonous battle unfolding nearby. Not far from their position, a frenetic skirmish had erupted. The grotesque, slime-shaped demons had encircled two figures, standing their ground amidst the relentless onslaught. It was none other than Mrs. Clea and Ruby, locked in a ferocious struggle against these abominable foes.

The holy energies emanating from Mrs. Clea and Ruby crackled in the air as their divine skills surged forward, meeting the writhing tide of parasitic demons head-on. In the face of their onslaught, the smaller slime demons met their demise, one after another. But these parasitic entities were far from ordinary adversaries; they possessed an unsettling combination of agility and resilience.

They realized the true peril of these creatures. Their diminutive size made them difficult to target effectively, and their ceaseless numbers were a daunting challenge. However, what made them particularly menacing was their ability to seize control of other living beings. They could infiltrate and subvert the very bodies of their victims, turning allies into unwitting hosts for their dark purpose.

Nathan, with determination etched across his features, was the first to leap into the fray. His fellow demon hunters, galvanized by his example and spurred by a burning sense of duty, followed suit without hesitation. They converged upon the nightmarish scene where Mrs. Clea and Ruby valiantly held their ground against the relentless onslaught of parasitic demons.

The battle unfolded with a ferocity that few could have imagined. Holy energy clashed with abhorrent darkness as the demon hunters engaged in a desperate struggle against the parasitic demons. With each invocation of a sacred spell, they fought to repel the encroaching tide of darkness.

They also occasionally tried to chase other demons, the great demonʼs subordinates. But those demons simply abandoned them as they were not interested in the demon hunters.

Amidst the relentless onslaught, the demon hunters noticed a glimmer of hope. The parasitic demons, though unrelenting in their assault, were slowly dwindling in numbers. Each fallen foe, vanquished by the demon huntersʼ collective might, thinned the swarm that threatened to consume them.

But just as a flicker of optimism began to take hold, a thunderous roar from the colossal demon brought a chilling halt to their movements. The very sound of it seemed to reverberate through their guts, momentarily paralyzing them with a visceral terror.

Nathan immediately diverted his attention toward the colossal demon. His eyes widened as he observed a crucial development in the ongoing struggle. It appeared that the Great Demon, despite the overwhelming odds, had managed to inflict a grievous injury upon their colossal foe.

Nathan decided to seize the moment. His heart raced with a sense of urgency as he left his comrades behind, determined to confront the colossal demon head-on.

However, his bold move was quickly met with resistance. A figure emerged from the tumult, blocking his path with resolute determination. It was Mrs. Clea. Her eyes bore a weighty seriousness, reflecting the gravity of their situation.

”Focus on the parasite demons first!” she ordered. Her stance conveyed an unwavering determination as if she knew something crucial that Nathan had yet to comprehend.

Nathan, fueled by his unyielding resolve, wasnʼt willing to back down without an explanation. He met Mrs. Cleaʼs gaze with a mix of frustration and curiosity. ”Why? Are you taking the side of that great demon?” he questioned, his displeasure evident in his tone.

Mrs. Clea, undeterred by Nathanʼs probing inquiry, responded with a calm rationality. ”That slime demon is currently preoccupied with the great demon. Let them engage in their own battle,” she reasoned, her voice steady and composed.

Nathan stood his ground, his determination unwavering despite Mrs. Cleaʼs insistence. His eyes bore the weight of his resolve, his jaw clenched in determination. ”Then Iʼll hasten their deaths,” he retorted, his tone filled with grim determination. With his decision made, he turned to stride purposefully away, eager to confront the parasitic demons that threatened their world.

But once more, his path was obstructed by Mrs. Clea, her resolute figure an unyielding barrier.

”I said just focus on the parasite demons first!” she reiterated, her voice carrying a stern authority. Her eyes held a warning that Nathan couldnʼt ignore.

”If those demons manage to escape from here and take over human bodies, it will be troublesome for us,” she reminded him firmly.

The potential consequences of allowing the parasitic demons to infiltrate the human population were dire.

Nathan, however, was unswayed by her arguments. His demeanor remained cold and resolute. ”Itʼs the hostsʼ problem, not mine,” he asserted with an air of detachment. He had already made up his mind to confront the parasitic demons head-on, and he wasnʼt about to be dissuaded.

But Mrs. Clea chose to appeal to his humanity. She spoke softly yet firmly. ”If it happened to your family, you would say different things,” she said, her eyes locking onto his. It was a simple but powerful truth.

That made him click his tongue and give up his intention.
