Chapter 826: A Mad Girl And A Demon

The Incubus System Chapter 816. A Mad Girl And A Demon

She had a point, though, her rapid shifts in demeanor were just as disconcerting as my own. But instead of acknowledging it, I decided to turn the tables.

”Say that to yourself. You were the one who laughed like a mad girl one minute and changed the next minute,” I reminded her.

Despite the madness that lurked beneath her surface, she had an innocence about her that was hard to miss.

Her response was a pout, and she retorted, ”I only did this to you, you know,” clearly frustrated with my persistent questioning.

I couldnʼt help but sigh, realizing that arguing about it wouldnʼt lead us anywhere. ”Right,” I muttered with a huff. Shifting the conversation, I asked, ”Anyway... How long do you want to stay naked like that?”

Her response was unexpected, a smirk playing on her lips. ”I donʼt know. I just wanted to give you a good view. Clothes donʼt matter to me.” Her hands moved sensually over her body, and her eyes locked onto mine challengingly.

ʼSeriously, I donʼt understand who the lust demon here is. Me or her?ʼ My thoughts raced as my eyes involuntarily wandered over her form. I couldnʼt deny that she had a stunning body, and it was hard to ignore the allure.

A grin slyly crept onto my lips as I began to speak, but before I could finish my sentence, a strange sensation coursed through me. My heart suddenly quickened its pace, pounding in my chest like a war drum.

*Ba-thump!*

A surge of potent demonic energy enveloped me. I knew that energy anywhere—it belonged to Beel.

[Warning!]

[A demon lord has been detected!]

The ominous energy surge wasnʼt exclusive to me; I could sense Ruby reacting to it as well. Her body trembled, mirroring the unease coursing through my own veins. The sound of Rubyʼs demon compass vibrating filled the room.

Locked in a shared moment of urgency, Ruby and I exchanged glances, our expressions sobering in unison.

”Get your demon hunter gear on!” I urged her, my voice laced with urgency. Simultaneously, I unleashed my demonic form, conjuring a mask to obscure my face.

Ruby didnʼt waste a moment and swiftly began donning her demon hunter attire, her movements precise and determined. Meanwhile, I employed my telepathic abilities to send out a warning to the others.

ʼGuys! Can you feel that?ʼ I projected telepathically.

ʼYes! Me and the others are spreading out to find the coordinates!ʼ Foxy responded swiftly.

ʼBuni, stay with Celia and Jill! And ask them to hide!ʼ I instructed firmly. The last thing I wanted was for Beel to seize them as hostages. ʼThe rest of you - Pearl, Diamond, Camila, Olivia, Elena - find a safe place to hide.ʼ

ʼRoger that!ʼ Buni acknowledged.

ʼIs there anything we can do to help you?ʼ Camila inquired, her voice laden with concern.

ʼUnfortunately, no. This opponent is a demon lord! His power is on a whole other level!ʼ I cautioned them, my mental voice brimming with urgency.

ʼHey! You promised to give me juicy news material!ʼ Elena chimed in, a hint of excitement in her telepathic voice.

ʼNo, I promised to fill you in on the demon world, Elena. I didnʼt sign up for a battlefield tour, so please stay put this time, alright?ʼ I responded with a sense of authority. I was relieved that I had designated her as a servant rather than a partner, making her more compliant.

ʼAnd as for the rest of you - Miranda, Emma, and Clea - if you find yourselves at a disadvantage, please retreat. This is no trivial matter!ʼ I cautioned them.

I turned to Ruby, who was just about finished getting dressed. Her expression was a mix of disbelief and surprise. Clearly, my revelation about having numerous partners caught her off guard.

”That last statement applies to you too,” I cautioned her firmly.

Ruby nodded in response. ”I know.”

As we were about to make our move, Mrs. Cleaʼs voice rang inside my head.

ʼPeace Blossom Square!ʼ she conveyed urgently.

ʼThanks!ʼ I replied telepathically, my gratitude evident.

”You caught that, right?” I asked Ruby, who was now fully dressed in her demon hunter uniform. I extended my hand, activating my portal skill. A swirling vortex appeared before us.

”I heard that,” she confirmed, her readiness apparent.

Without any more hesitation, I led the way into the portal with Ruby following closely behind. We quickly found ourselves in a dimly lit alley. The air was heavy with a palpable, dark energy, a clear sign that Beel was lurking nearby.

People who had been going about their business in the street ahead screamed in terror and panic as they witnessed the fiery destruction and Beelʼs horrifying form. Buildings were ablaze, their flames casting eerie flickers of light and shadow.

Beel, in his grotesque, gigantic form, resembled a shapeless, oozing mass with a multitude of writhing arms. He had captured at least ten unfortunate souls, each one struggling desperately in his grasp. His gaping maw yawned wide, saliva dripping as he prepared to swallow these helpless people whole.

In the midst of the chaos, panic gripping the onlookers, I reacted swiftly. With a sense of urgency, I extended my hand and chanted, ”Devil Space.”

A black cube materialized within my grasp, rapidly expanding to envelop the immediate area. In an instant, the people ensnared by Beelʼs grotesque grasp vanished along with the rest of the civilians. All that remained were those who had already fallen under the influence of Beelʼs malevolent soldiers.

Inside the protective confines of the Devil Space, the world outside became a distant, muffled chaos. It was just me, Ruby, and those who had already succumbed to Beelʼs control, all locked in this surreal, otherworldly space.
