Child of Destiny

Chapter 2094: The Final Trial (Part 4): Efficiency Contest

...

Boom! Boom! Boom!

At the deeper parts of the battlefield, Aoki was causing great damage to the opposing forces. He kept on swinging his spear left and right, which generated a violent flow of energy that transformed into an azure dragon that bit and grabbed all the jiangshi that he came across.

Roar! Roar! Roar!

He made sure that he would shred these jiangshi into pieces so that they could not regenerate and come back to life later.

He was also sending powerful explosions to different places from time to time, dealing as much damage to their forces as possible.

Alone in the middle of the enemies, he looked like a lone warrior walking through a bloody path.

…

In the distance, Arthur saw this scene and could not help but click his tongue. ”Tsk! Tsk! Why does Senior Laurent look too cool right now?”

”Such an amazing control of energy. Generating dragon images every time he swings his spear!? Is he not afraid that he will exhaust himself later?” he mumbled along with a deep frown.

Along with his Dragon Eyes, Arthur focused his gaze on Aokiʼs movements and read the flow of energies surrounding the latter and realized something.

”Eh!? The energies that he is generating do not come from himself. Instead, they come from the atmosphere itself,” he mumbled after realizing this.

”Now that I think about it, what is the element that Senior Laurent controls?” he thought, recalling that he had never asked about this.

From his observations, Aoki seemed to major in controlling the wind element. However, it was not your regular wind element since there was a different substance mixed in it.

It could be ice or something with similar characteristics, such as crystallization and hardening.

”I wonder which elemental category it falls under,” he mumbled while continuing his assault against the surrounding jiangshi.

…

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Boom!

As if having a tacit understanding, everyone was steadily moving toward the direction of the towering ziggurat in the distance.

It was as if all parties involved knew that they had to head to that place while doing their best to annihilate as many jiangshi as they could.

Survival might be the main goal of this final trial, but their true purpose in coming here was still to get that martial manual floating right above the peak of that ziggurat – the legacy left behind by Dark King Tang Hyeon.

If their guesses were right, then the current strength of the four General Kings of the Ancient Tang Clan was still at their weakest and had yet to reach their peak power.

The system had notified them earlier that these jiangshi would slowly grow stronger as more time went by, which they had taken as a clue about the current strength of those four super elite jiangshi.

At the very least, those four should be as strong as an Overlord Rank Monster in Awakened Continentʼs standard.

That was their initial assessment while basing it on the current strength of the jiangshi that they were fighting.

These jiangshi were at the level of Elite or Special Elite at most, if it was about their overall abilities. This should be on the same level as the majority of the monsters throughout the Awakened Continent.

However, these were the average strength of those they had encountered for now. They had yet to meet anyone who had surpassed that level.

Given the current information at hand, the worst-case scenario would be those four possessing the strength of a King Class or even an Emperor Rank Monster once they reached their peak.

This was also on the same standard as the monster throughout the Awakened Continent.

An Overlord Rank Monster was still within their capabilities. It should still be fine if that was the case.

However, if their strength reached the level of a King Class Monster, or even surpassed it, then they would truly be in deep trouble.

Moreover, there were four of them, which meant that such a situation would be even worse than they could already imagine.

If those three truly reached such heights in their strength, then all of them were screwed.

What was even more absurd about this was the fact that this was the most conservative guess that they could make.

Based on the experience that the others had, it was even possible that those four were at the World Boss level that rivaled the strength of Sovereign Beings, the peak strength and absolute limit of the Lower Plane.

…

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Pausing for a moment, Aoki gave his surroundings a deep look before pursing his lips. ”It looks like our current pace is still not enough.”

He could see that despite all the damage that they had dealt to the enemies were nothing but a small fraction of their overall forces.

Moreover, he also felt that the jiangshi were slowly growing stronger the deeper he went. He was starting to get some pressure as he continued.

Not only did he sense that the jiangshi were slowly growing stronger, but smarter as well.

He had noticed that the jiangshi were moving in a much more strategic way than earlier. They were now forming battle formations that were starting to give him some trouble.

Even though he could still deal with them, his advance was greatly slowed down.

”Letʼs try picking up the pace then,” he mumbled before suddenly waving his free hand.

Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!

At the same time, he conjured an array of crystalized spears behind him. They fanned out like a beautiful tail of a peacock before fly toward every direction.

Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!

Bang! Bang! Bang!

These jade spears skewered through the bodies of the jiangshi around before reaching a couple of hundred meters away from him.

The jade spears stabbed themselves firmly into the ground before releasing an intense light that spread in every direction.

These lights converged and connected each of the spears, forming a huge diagram that covered a massive area around him.

Zong~! Long~! Long!

Roar!

A moment later, a terrifying roar suddenly reverberated throughout the entire battlefield, shaking the ground like an earthquake.

Rumble! Rumble!

Not long after, multiple dragons with azure scales suddenly manifested in the air, forming a massive swarm that suddenly plunged into the ground and attacked the surrounding jiangshi.

Roar! Roar! Roar!

Boom! Boom! Boom!

A massive war seemed to have broken out between these azure dragons and the army of jiangshi due to this scene.

…

Seeing such a scene from a distance, Arthur and the others could not help but raise their brows.

”It seems like Senior Laurent wants us to pick up the pace,” he mumbled before turning toward the others, who were busy with their respective powers.

Seeing that everyone seemed busy with their respective battles, he decided to create a commotion himself.

BOOM!

He then released an extremely powerful draconic aura that swept through every direction, paralyzing most of the jiangshi within a couple of hundred-meter radius.

Roar!

A moment later, his golden dragon made its appearance once again. It leaped straight to the sky, seemingly showcasing its majestic figure once again.

After that, it bathed itself with the draconic power that Arthur was releasing, making it entered a special state.

Roar!

It then enlarged itself into a size that rivaled a small mountain, towering over everything underneath.

BOOM!

Then suddenly flew straight to the ground, dive bombing a spot where the number of jiangshi was most concentrated.

Roar!

It then started wreaking havoc in the middle of the opposing ranks, killing everything around it.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Arthur then hopped on its back, overseeing everything from the top of its head.

He truly lived up to the name of his class this time, a Dragon Knight and Dragon Cavalier.

This time, he wanted to conserve his energy as much as possible while relying on the destructive powers of his dragon pet and the application skill of his secondary combat class.

He learned it from Aoki, who was doing the same.

Through his Dragon Eyes, he could tell that Aoki used a massive slaughtering formation that greatly increased his killing efficiency.

However, this massive slaughtering formation did not consume that much energy since it relied on its surroundings. It was either consuming the energies lingering in the air or devouring the energies contained in the bodies of the jiangshi that he had killed.

Through this trick, this slaughtering formation would do all the work for him without spending that much energy.

…

Seeing the actions of these two, the others copied their methods and used their respective cards that had similar functions.

Luminous Dragon had even amplified the functions of the methods that everyone was using. He was utilizing a powerful formation of his own.

Adding that his innate attribute was the bane of all dark creatures, his killing efficiency was much stronger than Arthur and Aoki combined.

Under the amplifications of Tyrant Dragonʼs lightning abilities, they were able to kill a massive portion of the opposing army.

With all these, this trail seemed to have become an efficiency contest.
