Child of Destiny

Chapter 2054: Chaotic Luck’s New Terror (Part 1)

......

Everyone had wasted almost half an hour, not sending anyone to be the first to step onto the stage.

Due to this, the system had to intervene.

*DING*

System: For the next two minutes, if there is no one steps on the field, every team will be penalized.

*DING*

System: This will be counted as a loss, forcing everyone to forfeit a rotation and lose a member for the succeeding rounds

When everyone heard this, the first reaction that they had was to turn in a certain direction almost instantly.

They all looked at Chaotic Luck, who was standing alone on a platform. Everyone instinctively knew that such a role was greatly unfavorable for this guy.

After all, he was a single person while the others had four members each.

It was unless the system had its own biases, giving this person extra lives meant for this trial and matching the other teams.

The teams naturally knew about this possibility, but there was also the chance that this guy had only one chance for this trial.

Everyone seemed to have come to a silent agreement to wait until Chaotic Luck make his him. They would judge which one of those scenarios was most likely the case.

Naturally, the three teams from the Dragon Pavilion, Hydra Guild, and Black Market had not forgotten about the relationship between this person and the members of the Heavenly Resto-Bar.

They would not overlook the chance that these two would be working together for this trial as well.

However, the three sides were not worried about this since they could also ’work’ with each other due to the current rules of the trial.

The side of the Dragon Pavilion and Hydra Guild would most likely be more in favor for this rules where they were not directly working with one another.

Chaotic Luck was also feeling a bit troubled due to the current situation. But it was due to a different reason from what everyone was thinking.

They were right about him having more ’lives’ for this trial, but he felt that he did not want the other side to learn about it.

However, he was also having second thoughts about how he would do it. He was unaware of the thoughts that the other teams were thinking about, but the gazes directed at him were quite uncomfortable.

This made him believe that his intention would be seen through the opposing sides.

He was having trouble deciding whether to take the stage first or not. After all, there was also a chance that the advantage that he had gotten would be exposed once he lost that round.

He already realized that his opponents would most likely be on the same level as Leonard, especially after seeing the latter’s battle against Gunner in the previous trial.

There were also those strong opponents who were not showing their real powers yet. He was afraid and anxious, but he knew that he could not afford to hesitate, especially when everyone was looking at him.

He could only pray that Leonard and whoever was on their side would help him later.

Thinking about this, he knew that he did not have much choice but to take the first blow for this trial.

Seeing him make his move, the other three sides immediately responded. They simultaneously turned toward the side of Heavenly Resto-Bar, afraid that they would interfere with this round, sacrificing one of their members to let Chaotic Luck get a free pass for the current rotation.

The three even raced to send their representatives to take on the stage, wanting to overtake the members of the Heavenly Resto-Bar and beating them from the opportunity of saving Chaotic Luck.

However, they were all taken aback when they all saw that everyone from that side did not even make their move despite the situation.

Arthur was even lying and chilling on the ground, seemingly watching the other three sides make a fool of themselves. He had even taken out some popcorn from his inventory space as if he wanted to enjoy the show.

Aoki and the other two were quite confused about this reaction, especially when they knew that Arthur was the one who was the most eager to fight among the four of them.

They were also quite confused as to why Arthur was unfazed when his friend or colleague was currently under threat, especially in this situation.

It was as if he did not care about what would happen to Chaotic Luck in this trial.

Seemingly sensing their thoughts, Arthur casually waved his hand at them while saying. ”Don’t worry, Senior. Just like what I have said earlier, that guy is someone we do not have to worry about.”

”He is the last person that you have bothered yourself with when it comes to such situations. He will always find a way to go through it, somehow.”

Seeing that Aoki remained unconvinced, Arthur gave up explaining it and just invited them to join him instead. ”How about you relax for a moment and join me in enjoying the show?”

”You will be surprised at what that guy will show us,” he encouraged the trio, reassuring them that they had nothing to worry about.

Arthur and the rest of the Empyrean Talons were already used to it, but they also knew that other people would have a hard time believing what they knew, especially when they did not experience Chaotic Luck’s unique ’powers’ themselves.

So long as Chaotic Luck’s opponents were not someone extremely strong or people like the ones from the Empyrean Talons, who were very familiar with his style and strengths, then Arthur could feel assured that no one could defeat him in a one-on-one battle.

Moreover, Chaotic Luck’s class and undead creatures were also added in the mix, making him even more trouble than most of his opponents.

A good example was how Chaotic Luck managed to survive even against the joint assassination of the three assassins of the Hydra Guild earlier, especially when those three were among the strongest assassins that they had.

Any of them could also rank pretty high on the assassin’s list, given their respective strength and special features.

Of course, he also knew that those three had never revealed their true strength since they were afraid of the members of Dragon Pavilion recognizing them, particularly their styles.

Those sly snakes of the Hydra Guild were not like the people from the Dragon Pavilion, who were never afraid of showing themselves and letting their enemies recognize them. This was a deep-rooted belief and tradition that they had gotten from their military background.

Arthur was somewhat similar to them, especially given his background. The only difference was how he loved standing in the spotlight and even taking the initiative to shout his identity to the world, while those soldiers were also trained to act in a low-profile manner if needed.

Left without a choice, Aoki and the other two beside him could only nod their heads and took their respective spot beside Arthur, taking out their snacks alongside him.

”Since you fully trust your friend, then I will trust you as well,” said Aoki, along with a helpless sigh.

...

In the meantime, Chaotic Luck, who was the first to step down on the platform that he was standing on, had already started summoning his legion without even waiting for the system to announce the start of the match.

He had already learned from the previous trial how advantageous to someone like him to summon his army and set up a good battle formation before the opposing side could even make their move.

He was still under the summoner or necromancer class category, so his true strength still lay in his Legion of Chaotic Sun.

Along with the special buffs that he had gotten from his ongoing quest and the reward that he had gotten from being the first to arrive at the trial ground previously, he was able to summon the powerful ranks of his army.

The other three sides were still quite confused at the actions of the side from the Heavenly Resto-Bar, particularly after seeing them sitting down on the ground and even chilling without worry.

It was as if they were readying themselves to enjoy the show rather than preparing to help Chaotic Luck.

It was already too late to change their plan, even after sensing something was wrong.

Fortunately, two people were fast enough to slow down their respective representatives and let the third party to take on the bullet instead.

The two people were from the Dragon Pavilion and Hydra Guild, who seemed to be in perfect sync in this matter, letting the people from the Black Market take the lead.

Ta-ta!

When the representative from the Black Market fell on his feet, standing on the grass field, a sturdy and powerful barrier suddenly appeared, enclosing all the platforms.

Swoosh!

Due to this barrier, the people, who were supposed to represent the Dragon Pavilion and Hydra Guild, could not help but halt their tracks and were even forced back by an overwhelming force, returning them to their respective spots.

*DING*

System: The first battle of the first rotation! Start!

The member of the Black Market was still in the midst of confusion when the system announced the start of the match!

He was still in the middle of adjusting himself when Chaotic Luck immediately issued a command to his army, ordering them to the attack!

Seeing this from a distance, Arthur could not help but smirk evilly. ”Jackpot!”
