Child of Destiny

Chapter 2076: Aoki, the Forgotten King of Spears (Part 1)

...…

The members of different parties were neither too surprised about the outcome, especially when they all realized that Berserk Dragon had been under the effects of a special poison that stimulated his negative emotions and affected his decisions.

They all knew that he would most likely fall into a trap sooner or later, especially when the opposing side had already in control of the flow of the battle since that time.

”This is an unexpected benefit,” mumbled Gunner after unexpectedly earning themselves a win.

…

The next few rounds made the competition between all sides more intense. The system had also started adjusting the rules of the competition due to the number of combatants.

For the next rotations, more members from respective parties were eliminated.

Chaotic Luck had also taken his losses from these rotations as well, exposing the fact that he could take part in the trial multiple times.

He had more chances to participate compared to the other parties, making them feel that it was quite unfair.

Unfortunately, they could not raise any questions, much less complaints. After all, who would dare scold the system, which was overseeing everything within the virtual world?

However, Chaotic Luckʼs first loss came from Aoki, where he took the initiative to concede based on the latterʼs arrangements.

This upset the other parties, making it truly unfair.

This gave Aoki a free pass for the next rotations, leaving the other parties to fight among themselves to secure their spots.

For those rounds, the Hydra Guild lost their final representative against the leading figure of the Dragon Pavilion, whom Arthur and the others did not recognize.

Based on their knowledge and the information that they had, this expert remained a mystery.

If there was someone who would know his identity, then it would most likely be the members of the Hydra Guild due to their understanding of their opponent.

However, based on their reactions, it seemed like even they didnʼt know about this person.

This mysterious expert was also quite strong, surprising the others from different parties. He was at least on the same level as Boa, but in a different sense.

If Boa was the representation of extreme speed, then this person was the personification of absolute strength.

He was yet another problematic opponent that Arthur and the others needed to face.

Gunner, on the other hand, had won themselves a round. However, this win came from Chaotic Luck as well.

The latter had taken the initiative to concede another as per the arrangement that Arthur and Aoki had signaled to him.

He was not sure what those guys were planning, but he still complied, nevertheless.

With all of these, the remaining members of each side were as follows: Arthur and Aoki from the Heavenly-Resto Bar, Gunner and Lawrence from the side of Black Market, Tyrant Dragon and the mysterious expert from the Dragon Pavilion, the side of the Hydra Guild only had Boa left, while Chaotic Luck still had two chances left.

Based on this, it was clear that the Hydra Guild had taken the largest hit among all the teams.

However, this did not mean that this side was the weakest among everyone, especially the display of strength that he had shown to everyone.

In the next rotations, the matches became even more intense battles. It was much more terrifying compared to the previous rounds since they were giving their all to defeat their opponents.

Arthur went against Tyrant Dragon, where he used his ʼStorm Riderʼ Elemental Dragon Fusion, matching the elemental prowess of his opponent.

The two seemed to have become a pair of cyclones clashing against each other during their entire battle.

With Arthur matching his style, Tyrant Dragon felt like being challenged. It was clear that the former was provoking him, telling him which ʼStorm Dragonʼ or ʼLightning Dragonʼ was better between them.

Arthur was trying to prove that he was the better version.

Tyrant Dragon attempted to take Arthur down, but his abilities were not enough to do the job. The latter was just too powerful to fall that easily.

Moreover, Arthur was no longer holding back with his strength, albeit being a bit stubborn on solely using Tempest, the Storm Dragon, among all his contracted Elemental Dragons.

However, aside from not utilizing all his elemental dragons, he still gave his all in the battle. He might have saved some most important and extremely advanced skills with absurdly long cooldowns, saving them for dangerous predicaments and urgent situations, but he had still released most of his cards in this battle.

This proved that Tyrant Dragon was quite a powerful opponent, especially when he had gone all out and extremely carefully after seeing what happened to Berserk Dragon.

Regardless, he had still fallen short against his opponent, who had shown him how powerful the kings of the Dragon Tribes, a Dragonkin.

Tyrant Dragon lost to Arthur, but he had still shown a good battle.

As for the next matchup, Boa had made his move once again, facing off against Lawrence, who was pushed forward by Gunner.

There was no suspense in this match since Boa had taken down Lawrence quite quickly in the process.

Just like how he had defeated Ryoto from the earlier round, Boa had only used a brief moment to take down his opponent.

Lawrence could not even raise any form of resistance during that battle, not even realizing that he was already dead when the round ended.

He was struck by fear right after experiencing the true strength of an apex expert, even among the Godlike Players and Maverick Gods.

The round after this was supposed to be a real challenge for Chaotic Luck since his opponent would be the mysterious expert from the Dragon Pavilion.

Chaotic Luck was getting ready for this battle, thoroughly preparing himself to face a terrifying opponent.

He had witnessed how powerful this person was. He considered him to be on the same level as Shin and the other Godlike Players within their Adventurer Team.

Unfortunately, Arthur had suggested him to concede on this matchup as well, using up his final chance for a ʼre-tryʼ.

He had already conceded two matches earlier, which were from the matches he was supposed to face Aoki and Gunner.

Even though he was quite disappointed, he still complained about the arrangement of his Vice Commander.

He was quite scared to face such a powerful opponent, anyway, but he was also quite excited at the same time. After all, it was rare for him to face such a powerful opponent. It should be a good experience for him.

He did not know what Arthur was planning, but he still had to follow such orders, especially given the current situation.

Boa, Gunner, and the mysterious expert from the Dragon Pavilion were confused about such an arrangement, making them quite wary of Arthur and Aoki.

That was supposed to be a good chance to gather more information about this mysterious expert, yet Arthur had forsaken it for some reason.

It might be a crazy idea, like wanting to face such a powerful opponent himself, which happened to align with his personality.

They were quite familiar with the antics of this person, especially when it came to his craziness for dragons. He was such a fanatic when it came to dragon-related subjects.

Thinking about this, the trio was more convinced that this was most likely the case, especially when they recalled how Arthur challenged Tyrant Dragon earlier.

…

”I donʼt know what you are thinking, but since you are so confident about it, then I will trust you with it,” said Aoki while shaking his head.

He still did not know what this guy was thinking when he suggested Chaotic Luck to avoid fighting that expert from the Dragon Pavilion.

Aoki did not know whether it was pride or just his craziness about dragons. But since Arthur strongly suggested it and was very confident with it, he had to let it pass and fully supported the latter with such craziness.

At the same time, he also prepared himself since he was supposed to be the next combatant.

As for his opponent, it could either be Boa or Gunner, who had yet to step on the battlefield for this rotation.

Seeing Aoki stepping into the battlefield, Gunner could not help but turn toward the direction where the platform of the Hydra Guild was located.

He then saw that Boa was not showing any reaction, which indicated that he was not going to fight for this round.

Gunner smirked when he saw that from the other party and decided to step into the battlefield, planning to face Aoki.

The system immediately signaled the start of the match right after the two combatants were present on the battlefield.

*Ding*

It immediately announced the start of the match, but the two sides did not immediately make their move and just stared at each other.

They seemed to be gauging each other and waiting for something before they started.

Swoosh! Swoosh!

BOOM!

A collision of aura was the first to appear, where both sides released their respective Battle Spirits.
