Child of Destiny

Chapter 2061: A Dragon and A King Cobra (Part 3)

...…

Roar!

BOOM!

Right after the ice dragon and the three-headed snake clashed against one another, a massive explosion immediately followed, spreading a strong and destructive shockwave in every direction.

Whoosh!

Arthur, who was still in the air, did not paused his and continued with another attack. He dived down from the air, flapping his icy wings strongly to further accelerate his descent.

Whoosh!

He then covered his entire body with a thick layer of ice while diving into the center of the explosion to protect himself.

Swoosh!

Extending his hand forward, he caught the dragon spear, which bounced back to him. He then hid it behind him while pushing his other arm forward, placing the icy shield before him as he dived toward the ground.

Whoosh!

He looked like a blue meteor descending from the sky, heading straight toward his opponent, alongside the unstoppable momentum that he had.

Puff!

A huge hole appeared in the chaotic and thick cloud of smoke produced by the earlier explosion when this ʼmeteorʼ broke through it.

Below, Cobra was already retreating as fast as he could, trying to escape the range of the descending ʼmeteorʼ.

His figure turned into a series of blurs during his retreat before disappearing completely along with the snowstorm caused by the earlier explosion.

BOOM!

Right after Arthur descended, another massive explosion erupted along with yet another shockwave sweeping through every direction and created yet another huge crater on the one that he had already created earlier.

When everything settled down, Arthur swiftly picked himself up, preparing for another huge move.

Swoosh!

However, before he could even assume a good position, a ghostly figure suddenly appeared behind him without showing any signs.

With a silent and unnoticeable appearance, Cobra plunged alongside his pair of daggers that seemed to have transformed into a swarm of serpents made of poison energy.

Hiss! Hiss! Hiss!

ʼBlack Serpent Art: King Cobra – Death Swarmʼ

Arthur, who was still in the middle of standing up, did not even turn to face his opponent.

It was the icy wings on his back that made their move, folding in and embracing him. They then solidified and sealed into a block of ice that warded off the incoming swarm of snakes.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The snakes instantly freeze upon contact with the block of ice before shattering immediately after.

Cobra lingered that long when he saw that his ambush failed once again. He swiftly retreated, distancing himself from Arthur as far as possible while also entering stealth.

Swoosh!

However, before he could even fully enter stealth this time, the block of ice in the stance exploded before a streak of light flew straight at him.

Bang!

Whoosh!

Cobra seemed to have seen a dragon appearing right before his eyes, opening its maw wide and about to devour him with a single bite.

However, his shock only lasted for a brief moment before regaining his composure immediately after.

He held his daggers firmly before brandishing them in every direction, sensing multiple crescent slashes everywhere that shredded the huge mouth of the dragon.

Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!

Right after tearing the dragon apart, Cobra suddenly swayed his body left and right, making his figure faint and illusory to the people seeing him.

Puff!

Not long after, his figure exploded into a smoke right after a silver white pierce through it.

Shing!

Immediately after, Arthurʼs figure manifested right at the spot where that illusory figure faded away, maintaining his earlier posture.

He was about to find his opponent when the latter took the initiative to do it.

Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!

However, instead of being alone, Cobra surrounded Arthur with multiple copies of himself, which were also being covered with a thick layer of jade armor that seemed to be extremely tough and made from highly toxic substance.

They simultaneously pouched at Arthur, who seemed to be trapped by their formation.

Shing! Shing! Shing!

All these clones slashed their dagger at Arthur, taking the most complicated and tricky angles to deal with during their attacks.

Each slash targeted any possible weakness that Arthur had, particularly the vital spots of his body.

The timing of this attack was more flawless than the previous ones, seemingly grasping the perfect opportunity to strike.

Arthur could not take advantage of his ice abilities as well since the attacks were already upon him when he was about to use them.

If he wanted to escape this predicament, then he could only rely on his physical abilities and combat techniques, which would never be outmatched by his opponentʼs.

Swoosh!

His Dragon Eyes swiftly swept through the surroundings, seemingly accurately marking the incoming attacks along with their respective trajectories.

While doing so, his body was already moving according to what he had seen.

He raised his shield to block three of the incoming attacks coming from his left while also spinning his body around to block the ones coming from behind.

Clang! Clang! Clang!

At the same time, his right hand was twirling the ice dragon spear, deflecting the attacks coming from that side and redirecting them to clash against one another.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Along with these movements, Arthur suddenly hopped and leaped in the air, doing a skillful flip, to dodge the attacks coming below.

Midair, he twisted his body in a somewhat awkward angle before swiftly turning toward the opposite direction while also kicking his legs to generate a stronger momentum.

Swoosh!

Clang! Clang! Clang!

Along with this spin, his shield smashed through the incoming attacks that were still chasing after him, while his spear cleaved through everyone.

Bang!

At the end, Arthur slammed his spear into the ground, sending a shockwave that swept away the thick, poisonous air filling the air after he killed off those clones.

However, green fog only lasted only moved away from him for a moment before suddenly converging into black, seemingly trying to swallow him.

From an aerial perspective, this converging poison fog looked like the huge mouth of a snake that was about to close and wanted to devour Arthur.

ʼVenom Assassin Skill (Tier 3): Viperʼs Pitʼ

Whoosh!

Seeing the rapidly rising tide of poisonous miasma, Arthur swiftly stood straight while channeling his mana toward his foot.

Not long after, he suddenly stomped into the ground, releasing all the accumulated mana and sending it toward the ground.

Bang!

An icy mist suddenly erupted from the ground, which Arthur swiftly controlled with the air current generated by his swinging spear.

Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!

Not long after, the icy mist turned into a swarm of coiling dragons dancing and revolving around Arthur, seemingly protecting him from the closing tide of poison miasma.

ʼTrue Nine Dragon Arts: Imperial Tactics (Ice) – Dance of the Glacial Dragonsʼ

Roar! Roar! Roar!

These spinning dragons ripped through the poison miasma, warding it off from their master and cleansing the air with their icy breath.

Bang!

While the icy dragons were still busy dealing with the poison miasma, the ground underneath Arthur exploded, launching him into the air.

Clank! Clank! Clank!

At the same time, jade-like chains suddenly sprouted from his previous location and swiftly wrapped themselves around Arthur.

They lightly coiled on his limbs and torso, preventing him from going anywhere, while also drilling into the icy armor that he had with the sharp spikes that each segment of the chains had.

Creek!

Sharp and ear-piercing sounds reverberated in the air when these chains tightened their grip over Arthurʼs body, seemingly trying to crush him.

Whoosh!

Clank! Clank! Clank!

On the other end of these chains, Cobra suddenly emerged and strongly tugged the chains, pulling Arthur back to the ground.

This was the first successful ambush that Cobra had launched at Arthur, so he would never let it go to waste, and proceeded to use his strongest skill and technique.

ʼBlack Serpent Art: Ultimate Killing Move (King Cobra) – Toxic Novaʼ

Hiss!

A massive cobra suddenly manifested behind Cobra, seemingly a lot of poisons and venoms within its body.

It raised its head and locked its gaze at Arthur, who was still being bound by jade-like chains and unable to move.

Roar!

Opening its mouth, the giant cobra released a thunderous roar that resembled the roar of a real dragon and rivaled the presence of a primordial beast.

After that, he suddenly flew toward the sky, opening his mouth wide, seemingly planning to devour the entire heavens with it.

WHOOSH!

Arthur, who was currently being bound by the chains, wore a somewhat serious look on his face for the very first time in the match.

After all, this was also the first time that he had been subjected to such a serious threat after such a long time.

However, instead of a sense of crisis, Arthur felt an immense thrill from his current predicament.

”This is what I am looking for!” he mumbled while the expression on his face suddenly shifted into an extremely excited one.

At the same time, the aura within his body suddenly raged alongside an extremely ancient power that seemed to have been slumbering for a very long time.
