Child of Destiny

Chapter 2064: A Dragon and A King Cobra (Part 6)

...…

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The intense collisions between this pair of titans continued to escalate, especially as the two began to showcase their respective trump cards over time.

The skills and unique abilities that they were showcasing already proved how powerful they were.

Their battle had already ignited the battle hunger of everyone watching them, particularly those who were supposed to be fighting for this round.

Given that everyone here were experts in their respective professions, their innate competitiveness could not help but awaken after seeing such an intense battle.

The battle between Arthur and Cobra lasted for almost a dozen minutes until they finally reached their respective limits.

However, it was clear that Arthur had a slight advantage in terms of mental toughness due to his powerful bloodline, especially when most of the powers that he currently controlled within the game greatly complemented his abilities and bloodline from the real world.

Even if Cobra was somewhat in a similar situation due to the torturous training that he had undergone from the training camp, his innate advantages were still far from what his counterpart had.

It did not take that long before Cobra started to lose his concentration due to the metal fatigue.

At this point, he fully understood that he had already lost, but he still refused to concede in this battle. He stubbornly held his ground, clinging to the sliver chance of winning.

He was still waiting for the right opportunity to turn the situation around.

Unfortunately, Arthur had never given him any window that he could take advantage of, worsening his current situation.

Watching all this from their platform, the person who was talking with Cobra earlier shook his head and concluded. ”Cobra lost.”

He neither sighed nor shook his head. He remained indifferent during the entire battle, seemingly unconcerned about its result. Or more specifically, he seemed to have already expected this result to happen.

After a while, he turned his gaze away from the battlefield before turning to Viper, who was supposed to be the one leading this operation.

Viper tensed when he saw the actions of this person, especially when he caught a glimpse of a dangerous glint coming from the latterʼs eyes.

He instinctively lowered his gaze and looked at the ground, seemingly avoiding the other party.

”We are quite in a predicament, donʼt you think?” started the person before adding. ”As the head of this operation, what are your plans?”

Viper could not help but gulp hard after hearing such a direct question. He knew that he was in a hot seat this time, especially when the results of his earlier arrangement had failed.

They had won a point from another trial, but it was far from being enough to let them pass their current ordeal. He knew that they would most likely be kicked out of the trail grounds if they let this continue.

”Your Highness, I-…” he attempted to say something, but he was immediately cut off by the latter.

”Forget it. I donʼt have to hear it anymore,” said the person before continuing. ”Following the rules set by the system, we will be picking two people and excluding them from the fifth trial.”

”You and Echis are out,” he added with a commanding tone.

”But Your Highness, the Guild Leader said that-…” he was about to say something, but he quickly shut his mouth after seeing the cold glare coming from the other party.

”I donʼt care what he said,” started that person before continuing. ”I have already respected his decision enough by following your orders earlier.”

”However, it is clear that you are quite incompetent and unable to properly give any good decisions.”

”The results are right before your eyes, so there is no need to make any excuses, donʼt you think?” he added with a cold and indifferent tone.

Viper tried to say something to refute and defend himself. Unfortunately, no matter how hard he tried to open and close his mouth, no words came out of it.

Not only did he understand the current situation they had, but he was also clear about the difference they had in terms of their respective status.

He might have a pretty decent standing within the Hydra Guild. He could even be considered an Elder to a certain degree due to the authorities that he possessed.

It was because of this that there were very few people who would dare to provoke him.

Adding the fact that he was an expert himself, right beneath the current Thirteen Heads of the Hydra Guild, who were also the main force of the guild, his strength was something that had to be feared.

However, the person before him was among the ʼroyaltiesʼ. The great people and extreme geniuses, who were trained by the hegemonic organization right behind the Hydra Guild.

Even though they were not as monstrous as the rumored geniuses that were being trained personally by the great elders of the organization, their skills, strengths, and everything else far surpassed those of the people.

”I understand, Your Highness Boa.”

Viper could only comply after recalling the standings that they respectively had.

Seeing that, Boa, a genius of the Hydra Guild, turned his attention back to the ongoing battle, which was close to its conclusion.

However, he suddenly added. ”You two can go back right after being sent out of the dungeon. You can handle the other mission that is being led by Python and the others.”

”You can also bring the rookie that those guys have picked up from the Sky Island of the Primal Kingdom. That kid has some potential, but a bit unruly. You have to teach him how our guild works.”

”Give him an unforgettable lesson, if necessary,” he added with his signature indifference.

Hearing this, Viper could not help but shiver, especially after hearing the final instructions from Boa. He also felt a bit sorry for that rookie, especially when he was indeed a great prospect for nurturing.

”What is his name again?” he mumbled, recalling the reports that they had gotten recently. ”Sildra?”

…

Boom!

In the meantime, back at the battlefield, the ice dragon had finally caught the giant poison snake and pinned it down on the ground with multiple giant spears made of ice.

At the same time, Arthur and Cobra were in a similar position, where the latter was lying on the ground with a spear piercing through his chest.

”Cough! This damn monster,” mumbled Cobra while glaring at Arthur.

He knew that the latter could not hear him, but he still cursed due to his current situation. He even tried to spit the blood on his mouth to make sure that Arthur understood whatever he was trying to convey.

Arthur naturally understood his actions, especially after seeing the latterʼs attempt to spit at him.

He just smirked before twisting the spear, pinning Cobra down, making it more painful for the latter to endure.

Unfortunately, Cobra had already undergone a lot of torturous training, which was much worse than this.

Moreover, the pain level within the game had its limit, still protecting the sanity of the players who could be possibly put in such ta raumatic experience.

This kind of pain was nothing to Cobra, who had been trained thoroughly by the organization behind them. He could even smile and mock Arthur with a provoking look despite the latter not being able to see him due to the shadow veil hiding their respective appearance.

However, Arthur could sense the thoughts of the opposing side, especially when he could just tell from the little actions that the assassin was making.

”Hmph!” Arthur did not let the other party suffer any longer, not finding it fun anymore. He ended Cobra immediately after and sent him back to their platform.

Arthur dispersed the ice dragon as well, revealing the golden dragon that was engulfed by it.

Roar!

The dragon pet swiftly flew toward Arthur, who suddenly leaped into the air.

As if the two had already trained this countless times, the golden dragon caught Arthur midair, who also rode it like a true cavalier.

Roar!

They circled in the sky for a few moments, seemingly showcasing their victory over the other teams, before returning to their platform.

Seeing all these, everyone else felt a variety of emotions, especially when the entire battle was as intense as it could be.

However, it was also because of that reason that Arthur had the right to boast of his victory. After all, his opponent was quite powerful as well, even among apex experts such as Godlike Players.

Cobra was worthy enough to be labeled as one of the highly respected and extremely skilled Maverick Gods.

…

Right after returning, Cobra immediately collapsed beside Boa, who seemed to remain indifferent about everything.

”He is much more powerful than we have anticipated,” said Cobra right after taking his seat.

He then shook his head before continuing. ”That kid is among the people within the lists, but it far surpassed our expectations.”

”You have already done enough gathering all the data from that fight alone. That should be enough for the higher-ups to study,” said Boa, finally opening his mouth.

”For now, we have to focus on the others, particularly Aoki, who is among the previous generation of Monster Player List,” he added.
