I Am Scouted by Real Madrid

Chapter 745: Chapter 27: Chen! Lori!

But in the first head-on encounter of this game, at least in terms of physicality, the 185CM Gourcuff was ”crushed.”

As for another genius midfielder, Pjanic, before the game he wasn’t really convinced by Chen Zhong either, with the attitude of a young calf not fearing a tiger. But in the first confrontation of this match, he more or less saw the physical gap between himself and Chen Zhong!

Real Madrid played with more composure after scoring a goal.

Soon, they had another counter-attack opportunity!

”Real Madrid’s attack!”

”28th minute of the match!”

”Chen Zhong backs up to hold the ball!”

”Under the double-team of Gourcuff and Pjanic, he stuffed the ball to C. Ronaldo!”

”After C. Ronaldo got the ball, he passed it sideways to Kaka!”

”Kaka directly took a shot!”

Cristiano Ronaldo was undoubtedly the main focus of Lyon’s defense, and as a former midfielder, the Portuguese naturally had a good vision and passing sense.

Chen Zhong was not far away, and the Portuguese obediently passed the ball to Kaka, who was charging forward.

There was a Lyon player defending close to Kaka, while opponents’ defensive players were closing in. Without any hesitation, he took a low shot, attempting to break Lyon’s goal.

Unfortunately, Adebayor, actively running but in an offside position, blocked the ball, acting as a temporary defender for Lyon.

Mourinho, seeing this from the sidelines, couldn’t help but glance at Benzema on the substitute bench.

He suddenly thought that sometimes players like Benzema, who run lazily, were also quite good.

At least he wouldn’t be blocking a teammate’s shot while creating opportunities by drawing away opponents’ defenders!

If Adebayor had positioned himself like Benzema, Kaka wouldn’t have been blocked by a defender and could have directly charged into the penalty area and taken the shot.

The ball rebounded off Adebayor and flew outwards, and Chen Zhong and Gourcuff almost simultaneously headed for the ball’s landing spot.

The two ran neck and neck; but one was staggering, while the other was resolute and brave.

Just as Chen Zhong was about to meet the ball, he pushed Gourcuff aside, and then, amidst Gourcuff’s slightly desperate gaze, he powerfully struck the ball...

”Boom!”

This heavy cannon shot was like a sledgehammer on the hearts of the Lyon players.

Whether it was the players, the fans, or the coach, they all looked at Lori in front of the goal.

Lori’s positioning was excellent, with both hands in front of him, trying to block the ball...

However, Chen Zhong’s shot was so powerful that Lori could only barely alter its direction; the ball struck the underside of the crossbar and then rebounded into the goal...

”Goal again and again and again!”

”Chen Zhong!”

”A powerful super heavy cannon shot!”

”Gourcuff couldn’t stop him!”

”Lori couldn’t block this ball!”

”This shot was so powerful, and although Lori was well-positioned...”

”But he couldn’t control the ball!”

”2:0”

”Real Madrid scores another goal!”

”Chen Zhong scored two goals within 4-5 minutes.”

”This is his 34th goal of the season for Real Madrid!”

”If he continues at this scoring rate, Real Madrid will achieve all the honors they desire this season!”

Lori in front of the goal looked somewhat dazed, turning his head to look at the ball in the goal, and glanced at his hands, starting to doubt his existence for a moment.

This was his first encounter with Chen Zhong, yet it became an incredibly painful memory.

As a genius goalkeeper, a rising future star, he had never suffered such a tremendous blow!

His positioning was correct, and he made the save, but he couldn’t block it, couldn’t block it all!

If De Gea from Atletico Madrid were here, the two would surely have endless topics to discuss, and Lori’s expression was noticed by many fans who jokingly said, ”Bring on the next genius Door God!”

After completing the goal, Chen Zhong ran towards the corner flag, amidst boos from Lyon fans and surrounded by teammates, he completed his signature celebration.

This time, Mourinho didn’t make any overly excited celebrations, just swung his fist calmly, and then put on a disdainful expression, as if saying, ”Is that all?”

”That was!”

”An irrational move!”

”Gourcuff seems agitated!”

”He’s going to get booked!”

After Real Madrid scored again, Lyon’s morale took a huge hit; in midfield, they made a passing error, and Chen Zhong seized the ball and quickly moved forward.

Gourcuff and Pjanic immediately lunged, almost reflexively...

Pjanic’s tackle was dodged by Chen Zhong who flicked the ball past.

But being unstable on his feet, coupled with Gourcuff’s deliberate foul, he fell in Gourcuff’s tackle...

”This is a tactical foul!”

”From thirty meters from the goal, it’s hard to score directly.”

”Gourcuff seems to want to say something to Chen Zhong.”

”But Chen Zhong confronted him directly.”

Gourcuff was older than Chen Zhong, and though Gourcuff had played for Milan, as a ”Milan discard” who was loaned away and refused to return to Milan, naturally, he didn’t have too deep an emotional tie, leading to no shared camaraderie with Chen Zhong who had also played for Milan.

There was even some jealousy...

After all, their positions were similar, but one thrived at Milan and was hailed as a savior, with thousands of fans calling for him to stay, while the other could only leave with a heavy heart...

There’s a bit of a ”hate the rich” mentality.

And throughout the direct competitions in this game, Gourcuff was constantly at a disadvantage...

Of course, Gourcuff wouldn’t admit defeat, only trying to use ”manly” methods to prove himself; he wanted to intimidate Chen Zhong with his ”male charm”.

”Kid!” Gourcuff looked at Chen Zhong and whispered, ”If you want to leave the field lying down, you can continue; I suggest you better behave!”

”Ha!” Back in the youth team, Chen Zhong was an expert in provocation, later playing as a center-back, defensive midfielder, doing all sorts of tough and dirty jobs, so such tricks were completely off his radar, he got up and retorted: ”Watch your leg! If there’s any mishap, you might have to retire directly!”

The referee quickly came over, pulling the two apart, though Gourcuff was the one provoking, his appearance gave off a bad boy vibe rather than that of a thug, and once Chen Zhong stood up, anyone who glanced first worried Gourcuff might get beaten...

Gourcuff got a yellow card but didn’t care, seeing Cristiano Ronaldo walking toward the ball preparing to take the free kick, he shouted fearlessly, ”Let him come. Kid, do you have the guts to do it yourself?”

Gourcuff had researched Cristiano Ronaldo, and he did this to provoke their relationship, but what happened next surprised him.

Cristiano Ronaldo actually stopped and looked at Chen Zhong, seemingly asking: Wanna do it?

Chen Zhong rubbed his thigh, patting Kaka beside him, then walked towards Cristiano Ronaldo, took the ball from his hand, and headed towards the free-kick spot.

He showed his attitude through his actions.

Want to see me take the free kick?

No problem!

If I score, don’t cry!
