I Am Scouted by Real Madrid

Chapter 739: Chapter 24: Transfer Targets (Part 3)

As the season enters mid to late February, to be precise, the next 100 days will determine the fate of various championships. Mourinho refuses to predict the outcome of the entire season for Real Madrid, even though Real Madrid maintains a leading or excellent status or position on all fronts.

However, Mourinho still stated that the most important game is always the next one, and he hopes the players can focus their goals on the next match, which means Real Madrid is currently only considering Levante.

”The most important match of my life is against Levante because they are Real Madrid’s next opponent.”

”In my career, there is no such thing as the most important 100 days.”

”I’ve been coaching for 11 years, and the next 100 days aren’t more important than the past 100 days.”

”Levante has quite a few threatening players, and you must show respect to such a team,”

This round of La Liga, Real Madrid’s game is arranged before Barcelona’s, and the journalists at the press conference believe that the overall pressure is on Barcelona, who play afterward. However, Mourinho disagrees with this view and retorts: ”The association arranged for us to play before Barcelona, and this is neither a trap nor an advantage. Barcelona’s match is on Sunday, and if we win tomorrow, the points gap will widen, but if they win the next day, the gap will return to the starting point. This is the so-called story of pressure, and I tell you, such scheduling cannot create pressure.”

Finally, people talked about Florentino’s itinerary and discussed Real Madrid’s transfer targets.

Florentino and his confidant Jose Sanchez will fly to London in the next few days.

The primary purpose of flying to London is to finalize the transfers of Fabregas and Bell.

According to Spain’s COPE Radio, Real Madrid president Florentino and Jose Sanchez, responsible for the club’s specific transfer work, will go to London in the next few days. Although they try to keep it secret, the news still leaked. The two big names are going to London to finalize the transfers of these two big stars, Fabregas and Bell.

Florentino and Jose Sanchez rarely travel together, and when they do, something very important usually happens. With both big names present, they can solve various problems anytime.

For example, during the introduction of Benzema to Real Madrid, both big names went to Lyon to finalize the deal.

Florentino and Jose Sanchez even went to Benzema’s home to persuade him to accept Real Madrid’s invitation. Before Real Madrid made the invitation, Manchester United and Barcelona were also preparing to bring in Benzema, but the two big names’ joint action allowed Real Madrid to get ahead.

Notably, when Zidane was introduced, Florentino also personally took charge, but at that time, he went to Turin with another important club figure, Valdano, to finalize the Frenchman’s transfer.

COPE Radio states that Florentino’s trip to London is to pursue Premier League targets, and the players Real Madrid most wants to bring in are Fabregas and Bell.

In the case of Fabregas, although Barcelona has a sentimental advantage, Florentino wants to impress Fabregas and Arsenal with two trump cards: on one hand, Real Madrid will offer Fabregas a high salary of 10 million Euros—which is impossible at Barcelona. In addition, Real Madrid’s offer will be as high as 60 million Euros, 15 million Euros more than Barcelona’s offer.

Moreover, Fabregas is assured of a starting position at Real Madrid, which is difficult to guarantee at Barcelona.

COPE Radio believes that bringing in Bell might be relatively simpler than bringing in Fabregas, although the financial cost will not be any less.

The Tottenham Hotspur left-back has already become one of the hottest commodities on the transfer market.

Last summer, he was already sought after, but after his explosive performance in the Premier League and the Champions League this season, he became even more popular.

Mourinho praises Bell highly: ”Bell is the best left-back in the world.” The Real Madrid hierarchy always believes that the left-back position needs strengthening because, besides Marcelo, Real Madrid has no genuine left-back.

However, Tottenham Hotspur also knows that Bell is a player who can be sold for a lot of money. According to British media, at least 30 million Euros from clubs are needed just for Tottenham Hotspur to start negotiations, but even then, Chelsea, Manchester City, and Inter are all eager to chase.

Because of this, winning the player’s heart is crucial for Real Madrid, allowing them to gain an advantage in competing with oil dollars.

This is also the reason why Florentino personally steps in: he wants to use sincerity to impress Bell, and then see Tottenham Hotspur’s opinion. If Tottenham is always unwilling to sell, Real Madrid can do nothing; if Tottenham is willing to sell, then Real Madrid will offer a good price.

Florentino and Jose Sanchez have already begun to make strides in building the 2011-12 season team.

Fabregas is also seen as the perfect replacement for Chen Zhong. As for the team’s dissatisfied member, although Mourinho or part of the management still has expectations, Florentino has already started looking for a new candidate early, and Fabregas is a great target.
