I Am Scouted by Real Madrid

Chapter 346: Chapter 28: Guardiola: I Choose Chen._2

Among the players, some tried to boost their morale.

But no one like Chen Zhong, who had authority and influence within the team, stood up and injected courage into them with a world-class shot.

Real Madrid scored three more times in the 42nd, 45th, and 45+2 minutes of the match, respectively.

Morata scored twice, Benzema added to the lead, Vazquez scored from a quick attack, and Albiol headed a goal from a corner opportunity.

The score changed directly to 2:6, and it was as if the backbone of Alcorcon’s players had been pulled out, causing them to completely lose the desire to continue.

The half-time whistle blew, and many detractors hoping to see Real Madrid stumble turned off their TVs in disappointment. Meanwhile, in Milan, Pato, who was staying up late to watch this King’s Cup game, returned to bed, realizing deeply that the Golden Boy Award was slipping further away from him.

In Sports City, a boy named Paul Pogba watched this scene with bright eyes. He was nearly 190cm tall, and a group of youth coaches considered him the second ”Chen Zhong,” but more people believed he couldn’t become Chen Zhong, as he didn’t have the same diligent character.

This made Paul Pogba’s feelings towards Chen Zhong somewhat complex. On the one hand, he longed to become Chen Zhong, but on the other, he hated when others said he wasn’t as good as Chen Zhong.

But now...

He reminisced about Chen Zhong’s long-range super shot.

An involuntary thought emerged in his mind: ”This is art, and art is the heavy cannon!”

At the same time, countless ”kids” worldwide focused their attention on Chen Zhong.

Messi was always promoted as irreplaceable, but Chen Zhong was promoted as ”effort.” He joined Real Madrid from a barren football nation, unprecedentedly becoming the first team regular at 16 and the world’s highest-paid player at 18.

Chen Zhong, who initially could only play defense, has long been a benchmark for the 90s generation and all football enthusiasts.

They might not become the next Messi, but they aspire to be the beloved Chen Zhong within their team.

In the second half, Real Madrid showed no signs of letting up, instead going all out.

Morata and Benzema both completed hat tricks, Chen Zhong achieved a quadruple, added by goals from Vazquez and Albiol, bringing the total score to 2:12.

This score surpassed the previous match where Real Madrid defeated Barcelona 11-1 in the Spanish King’s Cup semi-final, becoming the largest score in a single King’s Cup match.

This game also became a ”sacred ritual” for many cloud fans on emerging online platforms, similar to Ibrahimovic’s super bicycle kick against England in a friendly match, being replayed repeatedly.

The only difference was Ibrahimovic had only one bicycle kick, whereas Chen Zhong’s performance in this match was made into a highlight reel.

In this, Chen Zhong’s long shots, headers, and passing were all-encompassing.

Some fans even directly awarded Chen Zhong the title of ”World’s Best Midfielder,” which made many fans unhappy, even causing a division phenomenon domestically.

Many Barcelona fans argued reasonably, believing that Xavi or Iniesta was the best midfielder in the world today, even Busquets and Yaya Toure had many supporters.

Of course, most people didn’t excessively belittle Chen Zhong but thought over-praising him wasn’t right either.

Both parties argued, and their attention turned to the upcoming ”Spanish National Derby.”

La Liga had reached the 9th round, and in the 12th round, Real Madrid would face Barcelona at Camp Nou, the most anticipated match for fans in the first half of the season.

Whether Real Madrid, who spent 300 million euros, could face the Cosmic Team Barcelona head-on.

La Liga round 9, Real Madrid at home against Getafe, and Getafe performed poorly this season. They initially wanted to buy Parejo from Real Madrid to enhance their midfield creativity.

After all, Soldado, bought in the summer of 2008, was very effective. They believed that with midfield support for assists, Soldado could surely reach 20+ goals.

Unfortunately, Real Madrid refused to sell Parejo, keeping him in the team, leading to Getafe lacking a player to deliver ammunition to Soldado in the front this season.

In the match, Real Madrid unceremoniously defeated the opponents 5:0 at Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.

Chen Zhong scored twice, with Negredo, Kaka, and Pirlo each scoring once.

With reduced defensive duties for Chen Zhong, Real Madrid significantly boosted their attacking power, though this greatly tested Chen Zhong’s stamina.

After the match ended, when Pellegrini faced reporters’ questions, he unhesitatingly praised Chen Zhong’s performance. When a reporter asked if he had to choose between Messi and Chen Zhong, Pellegrini sincerely said, ”I would choose Chen because he’s more all-powerful.”

His comments received a lot of skepticism, but considering Pellegrini’s character, such remarks seemed reasonable.

After all, in Pellegrini’s view, the success of Barcelona’s attacking tactics had a lot to do with Messi. Still, the implementation of the overall tactics couldn’t do without Busquets organizing in the backfield.
