I Am Scouted by Real Madrid

Chapter 309: Chapter 11: What? What Are You Writing? (Part 2)

This is like having already broken up, parted ways peacefully.

And then someone keeps showing off their new partner in front of you.

Who can stand that!

If the first half of the match, excluding C. Ronaldo’s segment, could be described as Real Madrid’s new battleship ”setting sail boldly,” then the second half turned into complete chaos.

Real Madrid seemed to have lost its backbone.

The lubricant that fused the old players and new players was gone.

Kaka and Pirlo had one style of play, Negredo and Granero had a bit of chemistry, Marcelo, Ramos, and Pepe played another way, giving the impression of a chaotic dance.

Completely disorganized.

And Deportivo La Coruña, apart from one player injured and taken off the field, suffered no major losses.

The final score was fixed at 4:1.

Real Madrid celebrated their first win of the new season.

During the post-match press conference, Lodina couldn’t help but praise Chen Zhong’s performance.

”I’m not unfamiliar with Chen.”

”This statement may not be very accurate, but I did carefully arrange the team’s tactics for this match.”

”But...”

”Everyone saw the result.”

”Chen Zhong completely disrupted my tactical plans.”

Lodina showed a bitter smile, ”To be honest, a 12 million Euro salary, Chen is certainly not worth it right now.”

”But he’s only 17, and his progress is very fast. If he maintains this trend, with such performances, I believe he will soon be worth that salary.”

”When I first saw him, his passing wasn’t that impressive. What left the deepest impression was his decisiveness in attack and his stability in defense.”

”However, in this match, his performance on and off the field, I’m sure everyone saw it.”

”His long passes, his distant shots, his organization and command all left a deep impression.”

”I didn’t lose to Pellegrini, we just lost to 17-year-old Chen.”

”Now I have to consider how to deal with 18-year-old Chen.”

Lodina gave Chen Zhong high praise, initially surprising people, but on recalling the 17-year-old’s performance on the pitch, it all became clear.

At 17, he was already wearing Real Madrid’s number 10 jersey, becoming the team’s captain, and earning the highest salary in the team and in the football world.

In the opening match, he shattered the opponent’s defense with two long-range heavy cannons.

This performance even made some people feel like seeing last season’s terrifying Messi.

Only that it was a completely different style of Messi.

Pellegrini also appeared at the post-match press conference, and facing the journalists’ questions, this ”rigid” and ”low EQ” coach, after a moment’s thought, said: ”A 12 million Euro salary for a player of this age is indeed somewhat excessive.”

His first sentence left the journalists stunned beneath the stage.

What?

What did you say?

If you put it like that, we won’t hold back!

Pellegrini, seeing the reaction of the journalists, immediately realized the inappropriateness of his words and quickly explained: ”What I mean is, for players of this age earning this salary, I haven’t really seen that. A salary of one to two million Euros would be normal.”

The journalists’ eyes brightened even more.

Okay! Got it!

Chen Zhong doesn’t deserve a 12 million Euro salary, his abilities only value one to two million Euros at most.

The journalists below the stage swarmed up like sharks smelling blood.

And this coach, who couldn’t understand something as simple as maintaining good relations with Florentino to avoid unnecessary conflicts, was completely thrown off by the journalists’ ambush.

”Chen, Chen’s abilities are very outstanding, but I think defense is what the team needs most. Compared to offense, I believe he can contribute more on the defensive end.”

Okay, noted.

Chen is only needed by the team for his defensive abilities, they don’t rely on him for offense.

Pellegrini wants Chen Zhong to focus on being a defensive player.

”He had some suggestions about being substituted, and I listened to his suggestions.”

Okay! Got it!

Chen Zhong was dissatisfied with being substituted, he had strong opinions.

Pellegrini unwillingly accepted Chen Zhong’s suggestions.

...

The journalists below were enthusiastic, and Pellegrini, who was nearly blinded by their flashbulbs, epitomized being agreeable to every question.

Francisco, after Pellegrini answered the fifth question, quickly called on the media officer to end this session, then started looking for familiar journalists, trying to ask them to exercise restraint in their reports.

However, those journalists looked at Francisco as if to ask.

Brother, where did you find this coach? This is too much of a hot topic.

Francisco was a bit overwhelmed.

He knew Pellegrini had some issues.

After becoming Real Madrid’s coach, he not only failed to seek harmony with the all-powerful, newly-positioned Florentino over points of contention.

He even waited for the other side to ”bow” to him?

If you could even deal with just one piece of peanut, it wouldn’t be like this.

But Pellegrini didn’t seem to realize the problem, which made Francisco somewhat admire this ”low EQ” guy.

The next day, major newspapers published news about Real Madrid, but the outrageousness of the reports even made one wonder if Real Madrid had actually lost their last match.

Generally, media praise during a win.

It’s only when they lose that they criticize heavily.

Apart from some reports of C. Ronaldo’s awkward dribbling, with a torso as unmoving as a stone sculpture,

Most were criticizing Pellegrini’s dissatisfaction with Chen Zhong from various angles.

For instance, ”Real Madrid’s new coach thinks Chen isn’t worth a 12 million salary, only worth 1 million.”

”Rumors of discord in Real Madrid as Chen already confronted the coach, Pellegrini could become the shortest-tenured coach.”

”Pellegrini believes Real Madrid doesn’t need Chen’s participation in offense, Chen should focus on defense.”

...

This series of news instantly gave Chen Zhong a headache.

His headache wasn’t from the disturbance of these news, but from the variety of ”comfort” calls giving him a headache.

Among them, Florentino’s talk was the most direct and indulgent.

”Chen, I’ve heard about the situation.”

”He is not my favored candidate. I am searching for a coach suitable in both fame and tactics for the team.”

Well, that was basically Florentino’s point, Chen Zhong was half asleep at the time, and then there were responses from other players, most expressed support for Chen Zhong and dissatisfaction with Pellegrini.

If this were a football manager game, Pellegrini would open the player panel to see a screen full of discontent.

And on the discontent tags, it should all be: ”Dissatisfaction with your attitude towards Chen Zhong.”

Chen Zhong rubbed his temples, he was indeed speechless regarding Pellegrini, but he did have some skills in tactics.

As long as some ”stubbornness” is removed, then winning the league this season is still very hopeful.

After all, in other teams, Pellegrini led his team steadily to points in the league.

The world is fragmented, little Chen patches it together.

17-year-old Chen Zhong is just a player, Pellegrini is just unaccustomed to a big club like Real Madrid, hasn’t learned to ”watch your words,” somewhat ”careless with wording,” not understanding worldly matters!

But, among available coaches right now, there’s really no one more suitable than him.

Oh well...

Teach him slowly!

Chen Zhong sighed.

Just at this moment, the phone rang.
