I Am Scouted by Real Madrid

Chapter 327: Chapter 20: He’s Still Young (A Long Time Span)

Santiago Bernabeu Stadium

Negredo originally intended to come over and compete for the ball, but as he approached, he overheard Ronaldo and Kaka arguing over the penalty.

Seeing the two having a lively conversation, Negredo couldn’t help but have a little voice in his heart screaming: ”I’m obviously Real Madrid’s number 9, I’m the designated primary penalty taker!”

As the little voice in Negredo’s heart was yelling, Chen Zhong noticed the longing in Negredo’s eyes and spoke up: ”Why don’t you take it?”

”Um, can he take it?”

Ronaldo didn’t say anything, just stared straight at Chen Zhong. Hearing Chen Zhong’s suggestion, Negredo wasn’t very pleased. Instead, he said, ”Alright, alright, what’s our relationship?”

”Whether you kick it or I kick it, it’s the same!”

”According to what you’ve said before, I’m your dear family, your brother.”

”It’s just a penalty, you can have all the penalties this season, I don’t mind at all!”

Ronaldo looked at Chen Zhong, looked at Negredo, and suddenly sweat the size of beans appeared on his forehead, his face instantly turned pale, and he sat down on the ground.

Negredo: ??? What’s going on, are you playing dirty tricks, are you?”

Negredo was still in a daze, but Chen Zhong realized something was wrong. He immediately dropped the ball on the ground and made the ”medical team” gesture towards the sideline.

Pellegrini, who was originally standing with folded arms, watching with great interest, finally realized the issue.

The referee was about to urge them to make a decision quickly, but seeing Ronaldo lying on the ground, he knew something was wrong.

Ronaldo’s ”diving” reputation is well-known in referee circles, and now when he falls, many referees are cautious, sometimes even assuming he’s diving by default.

But just now he had seen Ronaldo take a hard hit with his own eyes, and in this match, Ronaldo had a lot of fighting spirit on the side, repeatedly plunging fiercely into Marseille, which he saw clearly.

Chen Zhong picked up the ball and stuffed it into Negredo’s arms, making Negredo the ”third choice” penalty taker.

He stood at the penalty spot, easily scored, but wasn’t really happy inside.

On the other side, Pellegrini on the sidelines also had a ”dazed” look.

The team doctor explained clearly that Ronaldo’s right leg was severely swollen, possibly traumatic arthritis, and externally, his ankle was twisted as well.

Of course, the specific situation needed more observation after the match, but roughly estimated, he needed to rest for at least two or three weeks to recover.

Yet with such an injury, Ronaldo could still get up to compete for a penalty, and even gift the won penalty to Chen Zhong, which was really bizarre.

Especially now...

Why wouldn’t he be willing to be carried away?

Instead, he was limping around on the sideline?

In the end, who is the coach, him or me!

Finally, Real Madrid won this match 1:0 against Marseille, leading the group points standings.

Chinese fans, who were eagerly anticipating the ”Chinese Derby,” ultimately didn’t see it.

Meanwhile, Milan unexpectedly had a setback against Zurich at home.

So, the qualifying situation in Group C started becoming bizarre.

The team thought to be the underdog was not at the bottom, while Marseille, declaring to win its second Champions League, was at the bottom...

After the match, Chen Zhong accompanied Ronaldo in Madrid for an MRI examination, which revealed ligament damage on the right side of his ankle. According to the team doctor’s conservative estimate, Ronaldo was unlikely to participate in the next few matches.

Facing this result, Ronaldo wasn’t too agitated, as he already knew in advance the result of this year’s Ballon d’Or, most likely going to Messi.

This result helped relax Ronaldo’s previously somewhat ”extreme” mindset.

Instead, he began to enjoy more the life within the team now.

In the hospital, Chen Zhong, peeling fruits, watched Ronaldo lying on the hospital bed with a ”happy” smile on his face. He couldn’t help but feel something was off.

This Portuguese seems a bit lacking in love!

Why does he seem kind of clingy!

Moreover, after just a few words, he suddenly shows his white teeth and smiles heartily.

Every now and then, he holds Chen Zhong’s hand, pats his shoulder, hugs cuddles etc.

Though Negredo is like this too, but...

If someone like Cristiano Ronaldo, who was ”full of swagger” a few days ago, it feels weird.

Especially now, no matter how one looks at him, he seems like a big kid!

”Chen, do you want to see a magic trick?”

”Shall I do a magic trick for you?”

”Should I sing for you?”

”Aba aba aba aba aba aba aba...”

If Ronaldo’s fans witnessed all this, the filter they had would probably shatter to bits!

He’s just like a three-year-old kid...

After finally meeting all his demands, Chen Zhong checked the time and then spoke: ”I have to go to training now, take good care and rest up, awaiting the day you return to the field.”

Ronaldo was quite happy at first, but upon hearing the word training, regret flashed in his eyes.

Ah, right! Every evening was our happy time, but now with the injury, won’t be able to train happily together!

...

Ronaldo’s absence doesn’t seem to have affected Real Madrid’s triumphant progress in the league.
