I Am Scouted by Real Madrid

Chapter 308: Chapter 11: What? What Are You Writing?

Santiago Bernabeu Stadium

Pellegrini stood on the sideline for a while, always feeling somewhat uneasy. He turned his head to look at Chen Zhong three or four times within two to three minutes, and finally couldn’t resist walking over, wanting to explain to Chen Zhong the reason for his substitution.

The players on the substitute bench looked at him with a ”strange” gaze, a feeling he had never experienced before in his coaching career.

”Chen.”

”Hmm.” Chen Zhong put down the water bottle, turned his head, and asked Pellegrini, ”Is there something you need?”

”We’re leading by 3 goals now.”

”Deportivo La Coruña’s players are getting increasingly rough.”

”In the first half, wasn’t your calf injured? You performed very well, and you’re only 17, I feel...”

”Sorry.” Chen Zhong raised his right hand, looked around to ensure there were no cameras pointing in their direction, then covered his mouth with his right hand and said softly, ”If you want to say something to me, my suggestion is you’d better cover your mouth with your hand.”

”The first thing you need to recognize is, this is Real Madrid.”

”Here, any of your actions could be over-interpreted.”

Pellegrini bent down and covered his mouth with his hand, glanced nervously around, and then continued to speak, ”Thank you, but I want you to know, I didn’t mean to target you.”

”Do you understand?”

Chen Zhong turned his head to look at Pellegrini, the gaze like looking at a rare protected animal.

Honestly, he didn’t know how someone as ”soft” as Pellegrini became the head coach of Real Madrid; he was the head coach after all.

”I understand.”

Chen Zhong looked at Pellegrini, feeling a bit amused.

Target me?

Are you a bit confused about the situation?

Between you and me, the club would choose to stand with me one hundred times over.

”However, I have a suggestion.”

”Go ahead.” Pellegrini’s expression relaxed a lot. Since becoming the head coach of Real Madrid, he felt like he was coaching a team for the first time, like a complete newbie: ”I will accept your suggestion.”

”Next time, for minor injuries, insignificant occasions like this.”

”Don’t substitute me out.”

”Perhaps you’re not fully aware,” Chen Zhong said, pausing for a moment, looking at Pellegrini with a complex expression, ”I might actually be the fiercest one on the team.”

Every team has a ”tough guy,” and when Chen Zhong debuted, he played the role of the ”tough guy” on the team.

In the youth team, under the coaching of Schuster and Ancelotti, he was never a ”fragile” character, he needed Pellegrini to correctly recognize this.

While Chen Zhong was communicating with Pellegrini, C. Ronaldo got the ball on the wing and tried to cut inside, but was knocked down by a player from Deportivo La Coruña.

After Chen Zhong was substituted, Deportivo La Coruña, who had been somewhat restrained, became increasingly unscrupulous.

Wanting to perform well, C. Ronaldo had already been knocked down for the third time after Chen Zhong was substituted. He fell in a C-shape on the ground, angrily looking at Lore and fiercely kicking his legs at the opponent.

The players from Deportivo La Coruña loudly protested, but the referee acted as if he didn’t see it.

This made the conflict between the players of the two teams become increasingly intense.

Pellegrini, watching this scene, was somewhat restless. He tried to calm his players, urging them to restrain their actions on the field.

Watching Pellegrini shouting in vain on the sidelines, Chen Zhong stood up from the substitute bench and walked over to Pellegrini’s side.

At this moment, it was a player from Deportivo La Coruña controlling the ball. Guerrero got the ball, got away from Granero, and headed toward Real Madrid’s penalty area. Chen Zhong scratched his neck while Pepe, facing Chen Zhong, noticed this and instantly became more aggressive.

He delivered a standard ”Back Mountain Lean,” which sent Guerrero tumbling to the ground.

At this moment, Pepe was actually prepared to be carded, but the referee had no intention of issuing a card, even the commentator couldn’t help but complain, ”His refereeing level is really too low.”

”The match is becoming increasingly fragmented.”

”Both the players and fans of the two teams are dissatisfied with the referee’s decisions.”

”He’s too stingy with the cards.”

Pellegrini paced back and forth on the sidelines, shouting his players’ names, hoping everyone would keep calm and stay composed.

Standing beside Pellegrini, Chen Zhong furrowed his brows, suddenly missing the golden-haired madman, coach Schuster. If Schuster were here, he’d probably be jumping up and down shouting, tackle him, tackle him hard.

The game began to appear unsightly.

When Chen Zhong was on the field, although Deportivo La Coruña played ”dirty” as well, it was a restrained kind of dirty. The only explosive moment in the first half was Filipe Luís’s kick at Chen Zhong.

But even Filipe Luís’s kick wasn’t intentional, he just acted on impulse.

After all, he once played for Castilla, but never crossed paths with Chen Zhong. He was loaned to Deportivo La Coruña by Calderon in 2006, and was directly sold to Deportivo La Coruña in the 2008 summer window.

Looking at Real Madrid’s current lineup, he had mixed emotions.

Especially seeing Negredo wearing the number 9 on the opposing side, his feelings were even more complex, which is why Filipe Luís angrily said, ”You’ve already won!” ”Is this really necessary?”
