I Am Scouted by Real Madrid

Chapter 334: Chapter 23: Unbelievable!

After a series of warm-up activities ended, players from both teams emerged one after another, and cheers erupted from the stands, especially as Milan had stars like Raul and Guti from Real Madrid, and Real Madrid featured Chen Zhong and Kaka, former Milan heroes.

Besides, this was not a knockout match, so the atmosphere among the fans of both teams was quite good.

”The match officially starts.”

”We can see the sky is already drizzling.”

”This will certainly affect the players of both teams.”

Real Madrid secured the kick-off and boldly launched an attack at their home ground, the ball arriving at Chen Zhong’s feet, forcing Milan to quickly mark Chen Zhong’s teammates, thus opening up a path for Chen Zhong to advance.

Chen Zhong wasted no time and quickly made a forward thrust.

”Attention!!!” Leonardo was the first to sense something amiss, forming a megaphone shape with his hands in front of his mouth and shouting loudly.

Before this match, he specifically asked other players about their views on Chen Zhong.

After understanding Chen Zhong, he quickly judged that the discord in Real Madrid’s locker room was just an act, and based on other games, he knew Chen Zhong had a tendency to surge forward, therefore he prepared more defensively.

Ambrosini was the first to stick to Chen Zhong, however, Chen Zhong had no intention of colliding with Ambrosini but passed the ball sideways to Granero on the side.

This scene also made Pellegrini on the sidelines feel a bit relaxed.

In this match, Real Madrid ostensibly appeared to be in a 442 formation.

But in reality, during offensive plays, the team’s formation would shift to a 433 setup.

Higuain, Negredo, Kaka

Chen Zhong, Baptista, Granero

Marcelo, Pepe, Albiol, Ramos

Casillas

Among them, Baptista’s position was relatively withdrawn.

Pellegrini displayed boldness in midfield configuration for this match, where agile Granero had ”passing, ball control, shooting” duties, and would penetrate deep into the opponent’s territory to create threats, functionally similar to Guti once, yet also different.

Sturdy Chen Zhong had the duties of ”distribution, ball control, ball shielding,” he would anchor the team’s midfield, securely clean the ball and then distribute it, stretching the opponent’s formation, and depending on circumstances break into the box or compete for second chances and long-range shots outside, he would be the team’s ”core,” having the most ball possession for the entire match.

Lastly, Baptista’s task was to serve as the first barrier in front of the defensive line while cooperating with Chen Zhong to clean the ball, his tall build would also be crucial for the team’s air defense.

This technical yet strong midfield setup posed a significant threat to Milan, and the ball soon transitioned to the front edge of Milan’s penalty area, till now they hadn’t even touched the ball.

At the penalty area front, Real Madrid used triangular arrangements in passing to stretch out Milan’s defensive line.

When the ball fell again to Chen Zhong’s feet, Nesta, who attempted to retrieve, witnessed a ”terrifying” scene.

”Pass, pass again.”

”Chen Zhong!”

”Nesta advancing!”

”Is this? Weak Foot???”

Chen Zhong’s weak foot was already at 4 stars, but he still used his dominant right foot, emphasizing the importance of the weak foot at this moment.

When everyone thinks you will only play scissors, you come out with a rock.

Then, the outcome can be imagined.

Nesta deemed himself quite familiar with Chen Zhong, who loves to shift the ball to the right foot after stopping or use the right foot to handle it, he focused on Chen Zhong during the moments of stopping or passing.

If intercepted, Milan could swiftly counterattack.

Nesta advanced up, Nesta missed.

Chen Zhong used his left foot to tap the ball and then spun away from Nesta’s advance, this scene even prompted many fans to shout ”Marseille Turn.”

However, in actuality, it was just Chen Zhong tapping the ball with his left foot and naturally dodging Nesta’s rush and turning afterward.

But no matter what, this move directly messed up Milan’s penalty area.

Thiago Silva, upon seeing Nesta’s failure, quickly repositioned according to Nesta’s instruction and rapidly moved to intercept, attempting to disrupt the ball, but Chen Zhong’s huge frame blocked his way.

Thiago Silva bumped into Chen Zhong, like hitting a wall, if not for holding onto Chen Zhong, he nearly would’ve fallen.

”Thank goodness! Got hold of him!” Thiago Silva thought in relief, but the next moment he realized something was wrong.

The entire Bernabeu Stadium echoed with successive gasps from the fans.

”OH, my God!”

”Chen Zhong almost barged into Milan’s penalty area carrying Thiago Silva!”

”He alone disturbed the nerves of most Milan players.”

Players from all directions gathered around Chen Zhong, standing in front of him was Milan’s goalkeeper Dida, positioned very well.

Faced with this situation, Chen Zhong wasted no time, lifted his foot!

Then!

”Swish~”

”Bang!”

A powerful thigh cut across the ball, followed by a firm heel flick.

The ball broke free from Milan’s encirclement, Higuain caught the ball without any hesitation and instantly shot.

Facing half-empty goal, Higuain would not miss this opportunity.

The ball precisely plunged into the net, Real Madrid breached Milan’s goal within the first 3 minutes of the game.

In an instant, the entire Bernabeu Stadium erupted like a volcanic explosion, completely filled with cheers.

”GGGGGGGGGGGGGGGOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLL!”

”GOAL!!!”

”The ball’s in!”

”In the face of Milan’s blockade.”

”Chen Zhong used a brilliant heel flick to assist Higuain in scoring.”

”This boundless imagination, this extraordinary vision, I seem to see Guti’s shadow on him.”

”How did he do it? How exactly did he do it!?”

”Wonderful!”

”So beautiful!”

”Just 3 minutes into the match, Real Madrid has breached Milan’s goal!”

The Merengues on the stands excitedly discussed everything they saw, calling out Chen’s name, even though it was Higuain who scored, Chen’s performance was even more mesmerizing to them.

Meanwhile in Barcelona, watching the match on television, Guardiola couldn’t help but pat his own head in astonishment, exclaiming, ”Art, this is freaking art.”

Pellegrini continuously took two turns on the sidelines, muttering to himself while remembering Chen Zhong’s feigned shot and true pass, everyone thought he was going to shoot, yet he gave a heel flick to his teammate, presenting him with almost half-empty goal.

Ah this!

Compared to Pellegrini, Milan’s coach Leonardo shuddered all over.

Even if Chen Zhong directly used a super heavy cannon shot in the penalty area, and Dida failed to catch the ball resulting in Chen Zhong’s goal, Leonardo would not be this out of composure.

He shivered all over, suddenly feeling as if everything he previously saw about Chen Zhong was false.

Chen Zhong not good at using the weak foot?

Just now his weak foot seemed almost equal to the dominant foot!

Chen Zhong always just brute takes!

What was that turn?

If he bumped slightly with Nesta, maybe delayed a bit, Thiago Silva could have cleared in advance!

Chen Zhong’s passing isn’t great?

Whether it’s great or not let’s not say, but that vision, that brain, that heel flick...

”Damn, why am I so unlucky!”

Leonardo cursed under his breath, why in Milan and Real Madrid’s match, of all games, did Pellegrini have to find his inspiration, for Real Madrid’s first reform match?

Real Madrid’s spirit in this match was completely different!

While Leonardo contemplated all these, there came another wave of astonished gasps from the stands.

Not again!

Here we go again?
