I Am Scouted by Real Madrid

Chapter 319: Chapter 16: The Best of the Best

Sports City, training ground

The lights cast long shadows for the two individuals.

In the silent night, two highly disciplined and proud individuals plan to have a match to outdo each other.

Cristiano Ronaldo held his head high; he never thought he would lose to Chen Zhong.

Today, just today, he intended to outshine Chen Zhong and then conquer the entire Real Madrid.

After today, Chen Zhong would clearly realize that only centered around him could Real Madrid shine brilliantly.

”How do we compete, and in what?”

Cristiano Ronaldo’s eyes shone with eager light as if he had already seen his glorious and promising future.

”Didn’t you say you seize every opportunity?”

”Then it’s 3 goals! From 1-on-1, corner kicks, counting long shots in 1-on-1.”

Chen Zhong couldn’t help but slightly raise the corners of his mouth while looking at the excited Cristiano Ronaldo. If they were comparing footwork, he might be weaker, but in terms of jumping and physical confrontation, for instance.

C. Ronaldo, though very competitive, wasn’t foolish.

But if it’s about these 3 goals, one begins with the ball launcher serving, testing C. Ronaldo’s ability to dribble and face the goal, another sees the launcher serving a mid-height ball to test heading skills within the penalty area, and the last one involves long shots where C. Ronaldo can’t enter the penalty area after receiving the ball.

This kind of competition also perfectly suited Chen Zhong’s strengths.

Of course, C. Ronaldo surely thought the same, isn’t this precisely his forte?

”All right!”

C. Ronaldo agreed decisively, looking at Chen Zhong with eyes full of longing, without realizing he’d already entered a trap of self-validation.

And after C. Ronaldo agreed, a prompt suddenly sounded in Chen Zhong’s ear.

Beginning from Milan, Chen Zhong now had 4 special badges he was studying, and his conversation with C. Ronaldo unexpectedly activated a badge that was a bit ”useless” for the current Chen Zhong.

[Special Badge: End]

[Description: Cristiano Ronaldo’s ultimate answer, to become the best player in the world, he began honing his ending skills. When you acquire this badge, you will gain improvements when attempting to break the goal.]

On the special badge, a man stood tall with his chest out, like a superhero.

Chen Zhong was a little shocked, looking at Cristiano Ronaldo before him. Since Beckham had imparted the [Arc] badge to him, he knew excellent players, more or less, might pass down some badges to him.

But there was no denying, C. Ronaldo’s badge was the strongest yet also the most ”useless” he had ever seen.

Strongest because it allows those with ceiling-level ending skills to surpass limits, and useless because those with poor ending skills wouldn’t benefit from it.

But undoubtedly, this badge was definitely a rarity.

[Detected that End badge holder Cristiano Ronaldo wants to pass on ”End,” begin a special mission to learn?]

C. Ronaldo saw Chen Zhong suddenly rooted in place, unwilling to move for a long time, thinking he’d chickened out, and quickly goaded, ”Are you still competing? It’s getting late.”

Chen Zhong turned to look at the insistent C. Ronaldo, smilingly saying, ”Of course.”

And at this time, the special mission also appeared.

[Special Task (1): Grinding.]

[Task Objective: Successfully defend against C. Ronaldo 100 times.]

[Task Reward: Upon completion, you will receive the End (Bronze) Badge and unlock Special Task (2).]

Chen Zhong didn’t have much doubt about the task content since the essence of the badge learning was [Simulation], letting you learn their sports manners and signature moves, and then improve them to suit yourself.

During the defense process, naturally, you could adopt C. Ronaldo’s body dynamics.

Estimated that the second stage of the special task should relate to scoring goals.

The two stood in front of the ball, beginning their first encounter, while C. Ronaldo hadn’t realized yet he had fallen into a trap.

This was a seemingly fair contest, emulating everything on the field, but in reality, lacked the complex factors present on an actual field, leaving no gray areas to exploit.

The most frustrating part was that the ball didn’t start from the offensive player’s foot but from where it was served by a launcher, meaning the greatest freedom of an attacking player was gone.

Conversely, before pick-up, due to receiving the ball, it became like a target nailed on a plank.

”Bang—”

The ball launcher served the ball, this time a rolling ground ball.

Worthy of C. Ronaldo, he didn’t stand still waiting, instead moved towards the ball.

But Chen Zhong’s reaction was quicker. Originally, Chen Zhong should have preemptively blocked the position and cleared the ball with a kick, but C. Ronaldo’s explosive power was rapid, his linear acceleration astonishing.

In such a situation, C. Ronaldo could even achieve an overtake on the bend, grabbing the ball earlier than Chen Zhong.

Holding the ball while facing an unguarded goal, he could effortlessly put the ball in the net.

C. Ronaldo’s eyes flashed with excitement, the ball was almost within reach, once he got the ball, he would take this round first.

However, a sliding tackle from Chen Zhong dashed C. Ronaldo’s expectation. He watched helplessly as the ball so close was disrupted by Chen Zhong; his body instinctively rose, avoiding Chen Zhong’s leg, continuing to roll on the field.
