Leisurely Traveler with Check-in System

Chapter 185: Chapter 106: Setting Off for Jiuzhaigou!

Chen Kunjie doesn’t have big ambitions, and he knows where his abilities have their limits.

If he opens a few more branches, he won’t know how to manage them.

Li Younan reassured Chen Kunjie to go ahead boldly, as he would handle the publicity and support work. After all, the views on that pinned hot pot restaurant video were continuously rising.

Of course, reputation and publicity effects are a virtuous cycle, leading to explosive growth.

If the reputation is good, the promotional effects can be further enhanced.

By learning from and imitating the underlying logic of Pang Donglai, their small hot pot restaurant has an explosive reputation and has already sparked a phenomenon-level craze.

Next, there’s no need to rush; taking steady steps is enough.

After saying goodbye to Chen Kunjie, Li Younan went to see his cousin.

Lu Xiaolan had just finished military training.

When Li Younan saw her, she was carrying a small backpack, had a new trendy hairstyle, and dressed more fashionably, with slightly improved makeup skills.

Although not yet stunning, she already had a fresh, eye-catching look in a crowd.

Li Younan asked how she was adjusting.

Lu Xiaolan had a sorrowful expression and said, ”I can’t adapt at all! Cousin, I still need you to stay here with me for a few more months before I can fully adapt.”

Then, Li Younan gave her a playful knock on the head.

Hmm, seeing Lu Xiaolan’s cheeky words actually reassured Li Younan a lot.

At least it showed that adapting to university life was indeed quite easy for her.

Thinking about it, it made sense. Lu Xiaolan had been strictly disciplined at home from a young age, and now in university, she felt as if a caged bird had returned to the forest, flying free.

To put it bluntly, perhaps in her eyes, every part of the university was better than her home, so what’s hard to adjust to?

After confirming there were no issues, early the next morning, Li Younan drove back from Chongqing.

This time, from leaving home to returning, it had been over half a month, reaching mid-September.

However, Li Younan didn’t feel time passed quickly. Compared to working before, when you don’t have a specific goal, time seems to pass leisurely, which is quite nice.

...

At home.

After returning home, Li Younan told his mom about wanting to take her on a trip to Western Sichuan.

His mom was thrilled, but then she thought for a moment and said, ”Just the two of us?”

Li Younan leaned on the sofa, sipping the lemon water his mom had just made, and lazily said, ”That’s the current plan.”

His mom thought about it, ”Hmm, can I bring someone else?”

Li Younan sat up, ”Who?”

His mom was cutting fruit, and as she placed the cut apples on a plate and brought them out, she said, ”It’s Aunt Zhao. She’s been telling me she wanted to visit Western Sichuan. Your car should have enough seats, right?”

Li Younan chuckled and said, ”Mom, what are you talking about? Aunt Zhao taking up three seats by herself? Of course, there’s enough room.”

This Aunt Zhao, named Zhao Xiaofang, is his mom’s good friend, and they’ve been close since middle school. In today’s terms, they’re real besties.

Li Younan remembers that when he was little, Aunt Zhao often bought gifts for him.

Aunt Zhao married a few years after his mom and has a daughter, though she’s only in her second year of high school, if he remembers correctly, and quite the rebellious girl.

This time, Li Younan’s plan was not just to visit Jiuzhaigou.

He planned to go directly from Mianyang, then along a route through Songpan and Ruoergai, spending about a week. They would view the scenery of Jiuzhaigou and also see the grasslands of Aba.

Time was somewhat limited, so they wouldn’t visit Ganzi.

Moreover, in terms of infrastructure, Ganzi’s roads are in worse condition than Aba’s.

Of course, if he were on a solo long drive, Ganzi might be more fun, but taking his mom on a trip, it’s better to prioritize a good experience.

After getting Li Younan’s approval, his mom happily went to discuss with Aunt Zhao.

After eating some fruit, his mom came out of the room, turned off her phone, hesitated for a moment, and asked, ”Son, Aunt Zhao wants to bring her daughter. That would make four of us.”

Li Younan chuckled and said, ”Mom, you don’t need my permission for this. If you think it’s okay, then it’s okay. This trip is mainly for your experience.”

His mom smiled happily. How could she not feel blessed with such a son?

She nodded, ”Alright, then I’ll let Aunt Zhao know.”

...

Of course, it’s worth mentioning that this trip has two major stops, one at Jiuzhaigou, and the other at Wenchuan on the return journey.

Interestingly enough, although there are more cities and a denser population in the east, there are not as many checkpoints as in sparsely populated places in the central and western regions.

Take Shanghai, for instance, a huge city with a high status, yet it only has two checkpoints.

But in Aba, Western Sichuan, a prefecture-level city with a population of less than a million, there are also two checkpoints.

Moreover, the distribution of checkpoints across the system is such that the more off-the-beaten-path a place is, the more checkpoints there are.

This also shows that the system encourages people to travel to places with beautiful natural scenery.
