Leisurely Traveler with Check-in System

Chapter 161: Chapter 100: My Disciple’s Skills

Chen Kunjie scrolled from the last video back to the parkour one, his expression even more peculiar: ”I knew you used to play basketball, but damn, I didn’t expect you could do this too!”

Li Younan casually replied: ”Parkour and stuff, you can still practice after graduating from college; if you don’t exercise, you wouldn’t know basketball and parkour have things in common.”

”Really?” Chen Kunjie was half-convinced.

At this moment, Li Younan had observed enough and took out his phone to call Huang Xiaoyang: ”I need you to help me get a batch of boards...”

On Huang Xiaoyang’s side, things were much simpler; without asking what they were for, he just calmly inquired about the amount of wood needed and the type.

Li Younan briefly explained to Huang Xiaoyang.

Then, regarding the video, Li Younan had some ideas he needed to send to Brother Long.

After JK Long roughly understood Li Younan’s ideas, it took a while for him to send a message back: ”Opening a hot pot restaurant, you can do that?”

JK Long knew Li Younan had some culinary skills, but he didn’t have a concept of what level his skills were.

Although he had seen Li Younan cook before, making one or two dishes and opening a restaurant are two different things.

So, JK Long didn’t connect Li Younan to hot pot base seasoning.

Li Younan said: ”I’ll shoot a video of cooking hot pot base seasoning for you.”

JK Long asked dubiously: ”Who’s cooking?”

Li Younan said smugly: ”This small thing, I’ll let my apprentice do it.”

”Your apprentice? When did you take an apprentice? You teach your apprentice woodworking or parkour? Is he a chef? A parkour-loving chef?”

Li Younan said: ”Don’t worry about that for now; let me know what video material you need, and I’ll shoot it for you.”

After putting down the phone, Li Younan shouted to Chen Kunjie: ”Okay, for the next two weeks don’t think about opening. During the renovation process, I’ll shoot a video to show everything. Then, you can learn to cook hot pot base seasoning from me. We’ll learn in the morning, and in the afternoon I’ll go explore Chongqing.”

Chen Kunjie chuckled: ”Right, you just arrived in Chongqing, you should go play around. Just in time, in the morning we can cook hot pot base, and in the afternoon I’ll accompany you to walk around.”

...

Besides finalizing the partnership in opening the hot pot restaurant with Chen Kunjie, naturally, the check-in tasks must be done.

Being a normal person with a system, there’s an innate desire to check in immediately.

After all, it’s like never knowing what flavor the next chocolate will be; Li Younan certainly anticipates what skill will come out of the next blind box.

But, China is so big, if one’s life keeps chasing check-in points, it would be too boring.

Therefore, he has a slight intention to deliberately suppress the desire to check in, trying to face it with a normal mindset, so check-in doesn’t affect his rhythm, and he can relax.

Once the urgent matters are finished, naturally it’s time to check in.

Although Chongqing has two check-in locations, strictly speaking, there’s only one in the city—a nondescript hot pot restaurant.

Only upon truly arriving at the hot pot restaurant did he realize, this check-in task practically encompasses the whole Chongqing city.

The content is to taste the ten most famous hot pots in Chongqing.

Subsequently, the system map panel of Li Younan shows ten hot pot restaurants scattered throughout the city.

For Li Younan, who can’t handle spicy food, this is sad news.

And right now, the other check-in task can’t be completed yet.

The other check-in task is in the Three Gorges.

It’s worth mentioning that, Lu Xiaolan, a pitiful person, a student from a prestigious 985 university, only realized the Three Gorges partly belongs to Chongqing when she got there.

What else can be done? Just go eat hot pot.

These days, Li Younan knows he’ll eat through this year’s quota of hot pot.

...

For the first three days, Li Younan wandered around alone. Lu Xiaolan was naturally busy with the first day of school and was about to enter the military training phase, having no time.

Li Younan visited their school, which somewhat fulfilled his duty as a cousin.

He reported Lu Xiaolan’s situation on his side to his mom, letting the elders back home be at ease.

Meanwhile, Chen Kunjie spent these three days busy with handling some certifications, including materials related to partnering with Li Younan to open a hot pot restaurant.

The two plan to start a limited liability company; naturally, it wasn’t made especially formal, mainly clarifying each other’s duties and shares.

Li Younan and Chen Kunjie are extremely in sync on this point.

Neither of them is overly calculative, but formally they very smoothly nailed down this plan, mostly to set each other’s mind at ease.

It’s quite nice.

This kind of cooperation will not lead to troublesome matters in the future. Moreover, with a limited liability company, if they want to open branches later, it will be easier to handle... if there will be any.

But that’s a matter for later.

While Chen Kunjie is busy with procedure running, naturally, Li Younan is just wandering around.

Apart from eating hot pot, he’s definitely going to visit interesting places in Chongqing city.

On the first-day afternoon, it’s unavoidable to hang around in the Liberation Monument area.

The monument surrounded by tall buildings, during the day, seems just like a plain center point, but once the lights are on at night, the whole commercial area seems to come to life.

Li Younan didn’t specifically squeeze under the monument, but just sat by the flower bed, watching the off-duty crowd, photographing tourists, and the aunties carrying groceries home. It’s mixed into a lively scene.

After dinner, he strolled to Hongyadong, didn’t get into the crowd, but was instead attracted by Dai Family Lane Cliff Walkway.
