Clan Rise: Starting as a Grandfather

Chapter 881: Chapter 643: The Yang Family’s Descendants Must Not Indulge in Debauchery

”It’s useful, Zhang Juhai’s method of taming the Flying Slave Eagle is actually quite similar to the Bird Taming Skill; however, he mainly focuses on the Flying Slave Eagle, while the Bird Taming Skill records the taming and application of more than thirty bird species!”

”Yes, they each have their own advantages. It’s quite rewarding to verify them against each other!”

Yu Qingyi explained.

Yang Zhenshan wasn’t interested in taming eagles; he just skimmed through the Bird Taming Skill and then put it down.

”You can take your time taming them.”

After speaking, he went into the house to study the formula for the Soul-attaching Pill.

...

In the second courtyard to the west of Yang Zhenshan’s yard, a tall woman was lying in front of the Liang family, sobbing.

”Mother, you must stand up for your daughter-in-law! Boo hoo hoo~~”

The woman was approximately thirty years old, her tears glistened on her lashes, resembling a pear blossom in the evening rain, her spring shirt sleeves were wet, akin to peach blossoms under rain with translucent rouge. The more the woman cried, the more sorrowful she became, until finally she lay on the Liang family’s lap, sobbing incessantly.

The Liang family looked somber, yet also a bit sympathetic as she comforted the woman.

”There, there, don’t cry. Mother will stand up for you!”

”Oh, don’t worry, Chengyou won’t act recklessly!”

Nowadays, the Liang family had adopted the appearance of an elderly woman, as she had surpassed fifty years in age, and her grandchildren were old enough to run around everywhere.

She wore a band of silk, adorned with jade, around her forehead, and donned a simple aloeswood-colored python scarf dress. Her face was rosy, her cheeks were plump, and her eyes clear, exuding an elder’s kindness, yet she didn’t really appear old. Apart from a cluster of crow’s feet at the corner of her eyes, there was no sign of aging.

Perhaps because of her age, her clothing and jewelry gradually leaned toward an elderly style.

Now, the Liang family was no longer the daughter of a small merchant; any sense of commonness had long vanished without a trace. Her movements and gestures were full of poise, steady and dignified.

After marrying into the Yang family for thirty years, the Liang family had always been conscientious, bearing sons and daughters for the Yang family, supporting her husband and raising children. She was inherently a clever person, and as she aged, she became more adept at handling affairs with precision.

Among the Yang family’s four daughters-in-law, the eldest daughter-in-law Ms. Wang was always straightforward, the second daughter-in-law from the Li family was neither competitive nor conspicuous with low presence, and the fourth daughter-in-law from the Zhu family on Earth Fire Island was bound by rules, always adhering to those rigid doctrines, somewhat embodying the demeanor of a noble lady.

In contrast, the Liang family came from a small merchant’s household, her mother was astute, and she herself was clever and quick-witted since childhood. Initially, she had some commonness, but now she greatly displayed the demeanor of a main family matriarch.

The Liang family’s managerial ability was undeniably the strongest among the four daughters-in-law.

But when faced with the daughter-in-law’s grievances, the Liang family was quite distressed.

The woman in front of her was Yang Chengyou’s wife Ms. Yu, also Ms. Yu Tonghai’s granddaughter. She and Yang Chengyou had been married for thirteen years, bearing two sons and two daughters for him.

Ms. Yu was crying here because Yang Chengyou wanted to become a king.

The problem she worried about was whether Yang Chengyou would still adhere to the Yang family’s rule that prohibits men with sons from taking concubines after becoming a king.

What king does not have a harem of concubines?

Moreover, a king taking concubines is not just a family matter but a state affair, and Ms. Yu was well aware of this, hence inevitably worried.

If Yang Chengyou gets her a few sisters-in-law, wouldn’t she feel uneasy seeing them every day?

They had been married for over ten years, and they were living stably, but suddenly Yang Chengyou wanted to become a king. If he gets three thousand beauties, how could she be willing?

She had already mentioned this matter to Yang Chengyou, and he had guaranteed he wouldn’t take concubines, but her heart remained unsettled.

Men can’t be trusted; she knew her husband better than anyone else.

Full of deceit, if not for the Yang family’s strict rules, her husband would definitely be a playboy!

”Mother~~”

Thinking of Yang Chengyou’s usual playful nature, Ms. Yu cried even more sadly.

”Oh, there, there, mother will stand up for you, mother will take you to see Grandmother, all right?” The Liang family was helpless due to her tears and could only say this.

Aside from Yang Zhenshan and Yu Qingyi, no one else could make the decision.

After all, royal affairs weren’t simple family matters. Whether family rules or state affairs took precedence, only those two could decide.

And Ms. Yu wanted confirmation from Yang Zhenshan and Yu Qingyi; it wasn’t that she really didn’t believe Yang Chengyou, but without their assurance, her heart wouldn’t be at ease.

Upon hearing that the Liang family was going to take her to see Grandmother, Ms. Yu promptly raised her head, revealing a charming face covered in tears.

”Daughter-in-law listens to Mother!”

The Liang family couldn’t help but smile at her, ”You silly girl, you say you listen to Mother, but if you really did, then you wouldn’t be crying!”

”Yes, I won’t cry!” Ms. Yu readily agreed, wiping away the tear stains on her cheeks to reveal a bright smile.

But this appearance of slightly red eyes, a mixture of tears and a smile, made her even more endearing.

The Liang family shook her head helplessly and could only get up to take her to Yang Zhenshan and Yu Qingyi’s courtyard.

When they arrived, Yu Qingyi was still in the process of taming the Sea Eagles.

Little Qi’er squatted beside her, occasionally touching, occasionally poking, aggravating the fledgling eagle chicks.

Make this troublemaker go away!

Boo hoo, so annoying!

The fledgling eagles were somewhat afraid of Little Qi’er, each one desperately hiding under Yu Qingyi’s feet.

The taming process of the Sea Eagles was simply ’磨’, grinding these fledglings to be obedient and letting them know who the master was.
