Clan Rise: Starting as a Grandfather

Chapter 852: Chapter 629: Flying Slave Eagle

”Master Yang, it’s not that I lack understanding, but I really have no choice. Our fleet carries cargo worth 100,000 taels of silver. If it continues to be held back, I truly cannot explain this to Uncle Anshun!” Captain Zhu Zhen of Uncle Anshun’s fleet said with a worried face.

”Ah~” Yang Jide sighed deeply; this matter is indeed difficult to handle.

”It’s not that I don’t want to let you pass, but even if you do, you might be intercepted by Divine Wood Island, and your losses will be even greater at that time!”

Zhu Zhen understood this reasoning, but he truly had no solution; they couldn’t bear the 100,000 taels of silver worth of cargo being held by Uncle Anshun’s residence.

”Then could we handle the cargo nearby, even if it means a loss of some silver?”

Yang Jide thought for a moment and asked, ”What cargo do you have on your ships?”

”Silk cloth, tea, porcelain, Xuan paper, glass, along with some inkpads, jade, and other items. These are all popular items in the Longdan Dynasty.” Zhu Zhen replied.

The specialties of Da Rong are numerous; any one of them taken overseas for trade can generate significant profits.

Take the inkpads for instance; although they look insignificant, even the superior ones are only worth a few taels of silver per box in Da Rong. Yet, transported to the Longdan Dynasty, they become luxury items, selling for over ten taels of silver per box.

Although the market for inkpads is small, they offer multiple times the profit and are worth bringing along some.

Yang Jide scratched his head; these items wouldn’t fetch a good price near Star Moon Island because the area doesn’t lack products from Da Rong.

While Yang Jide was troubled, a subordinate officer came to report: ”Sir, a document from the General’s Office!”

Yang Jide quickly received the document and began reading.

After finishing, he laughed heartily, ”Manager Zhu, there’s a solution now; we’ll buy all your goods!”

”Really!” Zhu Zhen was overjoyed.

”Yes, although the price isn’t high, we’ll increase it by twenty percent based on your purchase price! You might not make much profit, but you’ll avoid losses!” Yang Jide said.

Instead of being disappointed, Zhu Zhen was grateful and said, ”Thank you, Master Yang, thank you so much.”

Yang Jide smiled and said, ”No need to thank me since we are relatives by marriage. The route here will likely remain blockaded for a while longer; you should head back for now. Once the route reopens, we’ll notify you!”

The Tenglong Guard and the Yang family cannot monopolize all maritime trade, nor is it necessary. They need more fleets; although these fleets may not bring huge profits to Star Moon Island, they can bring prosperity and continuous revenue to North Ring Island.

Thus, Star Moon Island will not reject anyone passing by North Ring Island; as long as they adhere to its rules, all sea merchants passing by are guests of Star Moon Island.

The blockade is an issue for Star Moon Island, causing losses to many sea merchants, and it naturally must offer compensation.

The compensation will be Star Moon Island purchasing all the goods so that these sea merchants do not suffer total losses.

Of course, Star Moon Island will also not suffer losses. These goods are durable and can be stored for one or two years without spoiling. Once the war with Divine Wood Island ends, the goods can be shipped to the Longdan Dynasty for sale.

Star Moon Island will only incur storage and stockpile costs, but for the wealthy Star Moon Island, stockpiling goods worth millions of taels is no issue.

With directions from the General’s Office, Yang Jide quickly reassured the sea merchants from Da Rong completely. As for those from other regions, unfortunately, their treatment would be slightly reduced, offering only a ten percent profit.

Even so, when Sato Ken left the government office, he was still filled with joy.

Though it was only a ten percent profit, it was enough to give proper accounts to the sea merchants from the Sakamoto Domain.

...

Tenglong Guard, Tenglong City.

The so-called Tenglong City initially served as the Guard City for Tenglong Advanced Guard, but now Tenglong Four Guards no longer functions solely as a garrison but as the Beihai Navy under Da Rong.

Above Tenglong Four Guards, the Mobile Capital Guard Office has been added, along with the Beihai Navy General’s Office. Currently, Yu Tonghai holds the position of Right Commander at the Navy Commander’s Mansion, as well as the General of the Beihai Navy, holding a proper First Rank official position.

Xue Ping is appointed as the Commander of the Mobile Capital Guard, a Standard Second Rank, concurrently holding the position of Guerrilla General in the Naval Camp of the vanguard.

The general setup is similar to that of the border army, with Tenglong Four Guards being divided into front, rear, left, right, and center Camps, akin to the Camp Soldiers of the border army.

Of course, Tenglong Four Guards still retains the garrison structure and the soldier composition.

The newly formed Five Camps of Navy are akin to Camp Soldiers but are unique to Tenglong Four Guards.

This restructuring occurred entirely due to Yu Tonghai’s desire to expand the forces of Tenglong Four Guards.

According to the structure of Tenglong Four Guards, it originally had a limit of 22,400 soldiers. But with the addition of the newly formed Five Camps of Navy, the Beihai Navy can increase by two thousand additional Camp Soldiers.

This means that the current Tenglong Guard already has over forty thousand naval soldiers.

However, its main force is still the newly formed Five Camps of Navy; those garrison soldiers are merely reserve troops for the navy.

Yang Zhenshan stated that Tenglong Guard has twenty thousand naval soldiers, referring to the newly formed Five Camps of Navy as he did not count the garrison soldiers among them.

Now, the General’s Office and Mobile Capital Guard Office of Beihai Navy are both within Tenglong City, with a bustling port outside the city and flourishing streets within.
