Clan Rise: Starting as a Grandfather

Chapter 872: Chapter 638: The Old Master Only Wants to Drift on the Sea, He Has No Desire to Return!

As for developing power, expanding territory, Yang Zhenshan contemplated for a moment and said: ”Brother Zhang, don’t rush. This matter needs careful consideration. Let’s do this, let me handle the matters at hand first, then I’ll discuss this with you!”

Zhang Juhai, hearing this, knew the matter couldn’t be rushed, so he simply didn’t say more.

Just then Yang Mingzhi and Xue Ping walked into the main hall, he smiled and said: ”Brother Yang, attend to your matters first, we can discuss our things later!”

Afterward, he greeted Yang Mingzhi and then left with Wen Qing.

Wen Qing was now his captive, and he was still thinking of persuading Wen Qing to join the Zhang Dynasty.

”Xue Ping greets the uncle!” Xue Ping said respectfully.

The Yang family and the Xue family were related by marriage, so calling Yang Zhenshan uncle was entirely appropriate.

”Haha, come and sit!” Yang Zhenshan laughed, beckoning him over.

They were all old acquaintances, no need for excessive formalities.

After briefly understanding the Navy brought by Xue Ping, Yang Zhenshan paid no more attention.

Currently, most of the Divine Wood Sect’s leaders were kept on Star Moon Island, and the sect’s Navy was completely annihilated. Now, the Divine Wood Seven Islands were like lambs to the slaughter in front of Star Moon Island, and there was no need to worry too much.

”You came at the right time; I have some matters I need to discuss with everyone!” Yang Zhenshan’s expression became serious, and he said.

”Father, what is it?” Yang Mingzhi asked curiously.

Yang Zhenshan didn’t answer him but said: ”You go arrange for the family heads to gather at the government office this evening.”

Yang Mingzhi was more puzzled, but how could he disobey his father’s orders, so he had to comply first.

Then Yang Zhenshan chatted with Xue Ping, who conveyed Yu Tonghai’s intentions to him.

Listening while stroking his beard, Yang Zhenshan nodded slightly, ”There is no problem with relocating the Tenglong Guard’s military households. Once we occupy the Divine Wood Seven Islands, not to mention tens of thousands, even hundreds of thousands would be fine!”

”Moreover, the living environment of Divine Wood Seven Islands is better than Liaodong, it’s a good thing to have the military households move here!”

The Divine Wood Seven Islands and Star Moon Island were similar, being located on the boundary line between subtropical and tropical zones, with a clear maritime climate, high temperature, clouds, rain, though typhoons could be troublesome.

Rice matured twice a year, with yield much higher than in Liaodong.

Ordinary people living here would definitely fare better than those living in Liaodong.

”Tomorrow you all set off, first occupy the Divine Wood Seven Islands, as for subsequent immigration, it can proceed slowly.”

”Since Liaodong has a large population, let’s migrate more here, start with a hundred thousand!”

Yang Zhenshan declared.

Yang Zhenshan didn’t plan to leave too many original residents of Divine Wood Seven Islands, as governing them was too troublesome.

The influence of Divine Wood Sect on them was deeply rooted, and now that the Yang family occupied the Divine Wood Seven Islands, naturally the sect must be abolished, equivalent to eradicating their faith, no need to elaborate on the difficulty.

And Yang Zhenshan’s solution to the trouble of Divine Wood Sect was summed up in one word: ’kill’.

To kill all the devout followers, whether thousands or tens of thousands, those who need killing should be killed, and those to feed the fish should be fed to the fish.

Talking about benevolence and kindness with Yang Zhenshan?

Don’t be joking!

If Yang Zhenshan were a merciful person, he wouldn’t have earned the name of the butcher long ago.

He could slaughter the Hu Clan, and could completely wipe out the Star Moon Sect, and similarly could turn the Divine Wood Seven Islands into a white wasteland.

If faced with the people of Chongshan Town or Liaodong, he might hesitate to raise the butcher’s knife, for they were the people he knew.

But for a group of completely unfamiliar people, those unrelated to him, who even had animosity towards him, Yang Zhenshan had nothing to hesitate about.

After chatting with Xue Ping for a while, the battle results were also calculated.

Luo Jingsong and Yang Minghao arrived at the main hall.

”Island Master, the northern shore battlefield killed over five thousand enemies, captured over two thousand, seized more than three hundred small to medium-sized warships, and countless weapons, over three hundred strong bows!”

The so-called strong bows were made from the root of the Divine Tree, such strong bows were good stuff, with a long range and great power.

In contrast, the Divine Wood Sect’s warships and weapons were worthless things.

”Our casualties are: thirty-two Navy soldiers killed, one hundred thirty-eight seriously injured, and more than three hundred twenty lightly injured, three hundred twenty young and strong men killed, six hundred eighty seriously wounded, and over one thousand three hundred lightly injured!”

Luo Jingsong reported one by one.

Yang Zhenshan frowned, ”Such heavy casualties?”

The Star Moon Navy had a total of two thousand men, with deaths and serious injuries numbering one hundred seventy, almost a ten percent reduction.

This was the largest casualty since the formation of the Star Moon Navy.

And young and strong men killed and seriously injured numbered over a thousand, with the total of no more than four thousand strong men on the northern shore, the casualties exceeded half.

Luo Jingsong looked very grim, ”The Divine Wood Sect’s strong bows are too powerful; nearly all casualties and serious injuries were caused by strong bows!”

This was even with him and Wu Zhan personally intervening. If they hadn’t immediately charged into the strong bowmen’s formation, the northern shore battle might have ended in disaster.

Three hundred strong bowmen might not sound like much, but each one had cultivation at the Postnatal Fifth Layer, with each arrow shot, a soldier would die or be seriously injured.

A single volley could kill around two hundred soldiers and young men.

Such strong bowmen on the battlefield were the enemy’s nightmare, while in naval battles, they were a hellish nightmare.

Yang Zhenshan was silent for a while, then looked at Yang Minghao, who promptly reported: ”The southern shore killed over eleven thousand eight hundred enemies, captured over three thousand two hundred, and many enemies were submerged to the seabed, the exact number is impossible to count.”

”Captured sixteen large warships, forty-six medium warships, and three hundred eighty small warships!”

All equipment of the Taro Dynasty’s Whale Navy was left on Star Moon Island, these warships were sufficient to form a twenty thousand-man navy on Star Moon Island.

Although the Taro Dynasty’s battlefield was slightly inferior to Da Rong’s battlefield, it was still usable, and if worst came to worst, could convert them to merchant ships, or even sell them for a million taels of silver.

”Casualties?” Yang Zhenshan didn’t care for these things, only concerned himself with his own people’s casualties.

Yang Minghao promptly replied: ”A hundred twelve killed, three hundred twenty-four seriously wounded, many light injuries, of the two thousand young and strong almost everyone was injured!”

Yang Zhenshan slightly breathed a sigh of relief.

Compared to the northern shore, the casualties on the southern shore were much fewer.

It seemed that the Whale Navy was more elite, but the Divine Wood Sect’s strong bowmen had too great a killing power; no matter how elite the Whale Navy was, in the face of Star Moon Island’s strong young men, their elite soldiers simply weren’t enough.

Of course, this was partly because the Whale Navy didn’t use crossbows, if they had initially used crossbows off the coast to attack, the casualties within the town would surely have greatly exceeded those on the northern shore.

Such results were acceptable to Yang Zhenshan, this battle was orchestrated by him, casualties were inevitable, with such great losses, the people on Star Moon Island should realize the harshness of survival at sea, and should resume their cultivation.

”Try to treat the wounded, go fetch some fruit wine, give each wounded a bowl to drink!” Yang Zhenshan instructed.

Spiritual Spring Water had the effect of treating injuries, fruit wine was milder, a bowl of fruit wine might not heal the seriously injured but would hold them together, to be slowly nursed afterward.

”Hasten the pension and rewards, also preference policies, this battle’s pension and rewards for the strong young men will be the same as for the Navy soldiers!”

Compensation and rewards need not be detailed; they’re definitely a substantial amount of money.

The key is the preference policy, for the deceased, one child can enter secondary school, given priority for selection in commercial work, along with tax reductions, resource preferences, etc.

Yang Zhenshan never shortchanges soldiers who fight for him, it was so in the past, so it is now, and so it shall be in the future.

Star Moon Island’s pension and merit awards greatly exceeded Da Rong’s, and the preference policy was something Da Rong didn’t have.

Not to mention, just the point of one child entering secondary school was a preference that people on Star Moon Island scrambled desperately to obtain.

On the whole of Star Moon Island, there was only one secondary school, and a young person who entered secondary school would have unlimited prospects ahead, this prospect wasn’t status or rank, but in Martial Arts cultivation.

Star Moon Island valued cultivation highly, as Yang Zhenshan set the cultivation salary policy.

Position salary consisted only of Silver Coin, the cultivation salary was all cultivation resources.

It wasn’t just ordinary people; even family segments coveted the cultivation salary immensely.

And entering secondary school meant being close to the cultivation salary.
