Clan Rise: Starting as a Grandfather

Chapter 880: Chapter 642: Falcon Training and Bird Taming Skill (Part 2)

”Do your best to appease the people of the Taro Dynasty, the nobles and wealthy can be killed, but it’s better to keep the poor people if possible!”

The followers of the sect and the people of the dynasty are two different concepts. Those followers may do all sorts of inhumane things for their faith, and their thoughts can become irrational because of it.

Perhaps those followers live more miserably than the people of the Taro Dynasty, but the thing about sect beliefs is really hard to accept. Anyway, Yang Zhenshan very much dislikes these chaotic sects.

Forget about the Divine Wood Sect, he even dislikes Buddhism, with only some Taoist sects in Da Rong gaining a bit of his favor.

”I understand, I will do my best to restrain the soldiers!” Xue Ping said.

”Mm, I trust you to handle this!” Yang Zhenshan patted Xue Ping’s shoulder and gave him an encouraging look.

He had left the Tenglong Guard for more than twenty years, and now the Tenglong Guard can still maintain strong combat effectiveness, which is enough to show the impressive ability of Yu Tonghai and Xue Ping in training and leading troops.

After discussing with Xue Ping, Yang Zhenshan invited Zhang Juhai over.

”Brother Zhang, I’ve decided to unite with the Zhang Dynasty to campaign against the Taro Dynasty, but shouldn’t we first divide the post-war interests!”

”Let’s talk about the ugly issues beforehand so that it won’t hurt our relationship when discussing interests after the fact!”

Yang Zhenshan said with a smile to Zhang Juhai.

Zhang Juhai also laughed, ”Brother Yang’s idea matches mine perfectly, hahaha~”

His intention to unite with the Yang family is not because the Zhang Dynasty can’t defeat the Taro Dynasty. In fact, he is 100% confident that the Zhang Dynasty alone could wipe out the Taro Dynasty, but he must consider the Yang family’s stance.

Firstly, Xiang Anxu was killed by Yang Zhenshan, secondly, the Whale Navy was destroyed by Star Moon Island; if the Zhang Dynasty went to eliminate the Taro Dynasty at this time, it would be like stealing the Yang family’s victory.

Most importantly, he had already witnessed the strength of the Yang family. He hoped to maintain a good relationship with the Yang family and didn’t want to offend them over the Taro Dynasty matter.

Moreover, in the future, there are many areas where the Yang family and Zhang Dynasty can cooperate, and they had previously agreed to collaborate in trade.

These various factors prompted him to feel that it would be best to send troops together with the Yang family.

”How does Brother Yang plan to divide the interests?” Zhang Juhai asked.

Yang Zhenshan took out a map of the Taro Dynasty, casually drew a line on it, ”The west is the Zhang Dynasty’s, the east is our Yang family’s! Each party takes their own territory, no need to unite and deploy troops!”

The Taro Dynasty is an island kingdom, and it just happens to have two large islands. The East Island is slightly larger than the West Island, about three times the size of Divine Wood Island, with a population of around four million. The West Island is smaller, but also has a population of over three million.

In addition, the Taro Dynasty has many small islands, which harbor nearly two million inhabitants.

Thus, the entire Taro Dynasty has close to ten million people.

According to Yang Zhenshan’s division, from territories and population, the Yang family occupies about sixty percent and the Zhang Dynasty forty percent, with the royal capital of the Taro Dynasty also on the East Island.

It seems somewhat unfair, but actually, this is already the fairest division.

This division makes the Zhang Dynasty bear a bit of loss, but their territory can be connected, with the future Yang Dynasty established across the sea, just right.

As for why Yang Zhenshan didn’t monopolize the Taro Dynasty, firstly, the Yang family doesn’t have enough manpower, having only three to four thousand people, needing to migrate to Divine Wood Island and govern a new dynasty, there’s simply not enough staff.

Secondly, because the Yang family does not have a foundation in that sea area, occupying those islands would require a large amount of time and financial resources to establish a foothold.

Under such circumstances, the Yang family needs a solid and reliable ally, and the Zhang Dynasty is undoubtedly the most suitable choice.

Just as when the Yang family migrated to Star Moon Island, they also relied on the power of Earth Fire Island to stand firm.

So leaving some interests for the Zhang Dynasty is only reasonable.

Zhang Juhai looked at the map’s division, thought for a while, and pointed at a southern location on the map, saying, ”There is another island here, under Brother Yang’s division, this island should belong to the Yang family!”

Yang Zhenshan looked at the map, ”Another island here? How big?”

Clearly, this map is incomplete, which is normal. Though Star Moon Island has been collecting maps from various forces over the years, it does not have a detailed understanding of many forces’ territorial ranges.

”Not big, roughly similar to Star Moon Island, but this island is rich in Purple Crystal Coral. I’m not hiding it from Brother Yang, this Purple Crystal Coral is an extremely special Treasure Medicine, also a crucial ingredient for the Sea Dragon Pill.”

”I want this island?”

Zhang Juhai looked at Yang Zhenshan.

Yang Zhenshan asked, ”How far is this island from the main island?”

”About two hundred li away!” Zhang Juhai said.

Yang Zhenshan nodded, ”Okay, I want the formula for the Sea Dragon Pill!”

The effect of the Sea Dragon Pill is quite miraculous, as it can improve one’s lung capacity. Yang Zhenshan is very curious about it and wants to get the formula for research.

”Alright!” Zhang Juhai readily agreed.

The Sea Dragon Pill is a treasure of the Zhang Dynasty, but the formula is not, because the preciousness of the Sea Dragon Pill lies in its main ingredient, Sea Dragon Ginseng.

Sea Dragon Ginseng, although not as rare as Spirit Fruit, is still a very scarce Treasure Medicine, especially since it grows in the sea, making it even harder to find.

The matter was settled like this, and then Yang Zhenshan didn’t need to worry about it anymore.

The experts of Divine Wood Island and the Taro Dynasty were nearly all dead. The upcoming battles didn’t require his personal involvement; having Yang Mingzhi and Yang Minghao take charge was enough, then letting Luo Jingsong and Wu Zhan lead the Star Moon Navy to the fight.

The Tenglong Guard Navy rested on Star Moon Island for only three days before heading to Divine Wood Island, while Zhang Juhai returned to the Zhang Dynasty to mobilize troops.

Zhu Yanshan also left; he had come this time just to make an acquaintance, not having the opportunity to take action.

Of course, the spear he forged was a significant gift. Upon his departure, Yang Zhenshan gifted him twenty vats of Drunken Immortal Brew and ten jin of tea.

After sending off Zhu Yanshan, Yang Zhenshan returned home with his hands behind his back.

At home, Yu Qingyi was with Qi’er amusing four young Sea Eagles that had just grown feathers.

Little Qi’er seemed to really like the four fledgling eagles, always coming to see them these days.

”Grandpa~~”

Seeing Yang Zhenshan returned, the little girl immediately showed a big smiling face.

”Mm!”

Yang Zhenshan ruffled her little head and then asked in surprise, ”Why are there two more?”

He then noticed that the cage had two additional fledgling eagles, about the same age, and had just grown feathers.

”Cheng’an found them on East Mountain yesterday, said he brought them for Qi’er to play with!” Yu Qingyi laughed.

”That lad!” Yang Zhenshan found it both infuriating and amusing.

Infuriating because the lad truly can’t sit still, he runs to the mountains to play whenever not watched; amusing because the lad actually knows to pamper his little sister, seeing Qi’er liked the fledgling eagles, he found two more for her.

”How’s the taming going? Any progress?” Yang Zhenshan asked.

He hadn’t learned the method of eagle taming himself, but had Yu Qingyi learn it; Yu Qingyi happened to be very interested in taming Flying Slave Eagles.

Yu Qingyi took out a booklet and handed it to Yang Zhenshan, smiling, ”Take a look at this!”

Yang Zhenshan accepted the booklet and looked at the words on the cover, ”Bird Taming Skill! Where did this come from?”

”Found it in the Book Collection Building!” Yu Qingyi said, ”I remembered reading it before, and found it when searching these past few days!”

Yang Zhenshan nodded slightly, then opened the Bird Taming Skill and began to read, ”Is this Bird Taming Skill useful?”

There are many books in the Book Collection Building, including a lot of books on various peculiar skills, but few people would actually read these books.

Over the years, Yu Qingyi hasn’t just been staying in the backyard watching the children, she has often been in the Book Collection Building reading books, various cultivation techniques insights, and peculiar books, she has read many.

She even understood the Book Collection Building better than Yang Zhenshan did, as Yang Zhenshan usually only looked for useful books when reading, rarely flipping through miscellaneous books.
