I Married the President

Chapter 446: Chapter 446: Something Strange Got Mixed In

Before long, the article was pushed onto the trending topics list by her fans, attracting the attention of the entire web.

Claire Sinclair could finally hand over all the gifts with a clear conscience, not keeping a single one for herself.

However...

The last box of chocolates, however, was sent back with the explanation that the national treasury does not accept chocolate.

Claire Sinclair stared at the box of returned chocolates, took a picture, and posted it on Weibo with the caption: ”The guy at the national treasury said they don’t accept chocolate and told me to figure out what to do with it myself. Should I sell them? Or eat them all?”

Some users suggested she keep a few for herself and sell the rest.

Claire Sinclair thought about it and decided it made a lot of sense, so she posted a second time on Weibo: ”DM me your address. One box for 23 yuan—half price. Shipping not included. First come, first served. I’ll donate all the proceeds in the name of the newspaper.”

That afternoon, Claire Sinclair was busy shipping out packages. Thankfully, the last box of chocolates was sent, and the mission was accomplished.

When she returned to her seat, she found a stack of documents on her desk. The item on top was a promotional brochure with a striking title on it—Dazzling Star.

Before she could open it, Henry Hartwell popped out of nowhere. ”The competition rules are all in there. If you join, you’ll essentially be the mindset judge for the contestants. The production team has already written half the questions, and you’ll be responsible for the other half. Each episode will have two mindset questions—one from the production team and one from you. You also get to decide the grading criteria.”

”I’m supposed to come up with the questions?” ’I’ll probably end up offending every single contestant and all of their fans,’ Claire Sinclair thought.

Henry Hartwell grinned brightly. ”Claire Sinclair, it’s time to let that creative mind of yours run wild. You’ve got this.”

Claire Sinclair: ”...”

’I’m not creative! Not at all!’

-

The official Weibo account for Dazzling Star posted a series of photos of the show’s mentors.

One was the popular idol superstar Mimi Fisher, with over 50 million followers on Weibo. Another was Cecily Taylor, a multi-talented diva who had dominated the entertainment industry for years; her global fanbase exceeded one hundred million. The third was the well-known rapper Master, a huge name in the business. And the last one was the top journalist with only 7 million followers, Claire Sinclair.

Without a doubt, placing Claire Sinclair’s name alongside the other three drew widespread criticism and skepticism online.

[WHAT? Am I seeing things? How did someone so random get mixed in?]

[Claire Sinclair as a mentor? What makes her qualified?]

[Can just *anyone* be a mentor these days? There are tons of great writers out there, so why her?]

[A 22-year-old influencer-journalist as a mentor on a talent show? LMAO, the director must have lost their mind.]

[Watch it if you want. I’m not.]

[If Claire Sinclair’s on it, I’m not watching either. What a trash show!]

...

The photo Claire Sinclair had submitted to the production team was just a casual shot she’d asked Teacher Hartwell to take for her. Compared to the three celebrities in full makeup, it looked rather informal.

Reading the skeptical comments online, Claire Sinclair felt a smile tug at her lips.

In the past, when people told her she wasn’t good enough, she might have believed them. But times had changed; she was no longer the coward who would crumble at the slightest malicious attack.

She was Claire Sinclair, Adrian Quincy’s wife, the future First Lady.

If she couldn’t even handle a talent show, how could she ever hope to take on the world? Her time as First Lady would be fraught with difficulty.

So, this time she would give it her all and silence every last one of her doubters.
