I Married the President

Chapter 430: Chapter 430: What Took You So Long

”Faye...” Claire Sinclair blinked.

’That girl... she looks like a little goldfish just let out of its bowl...’

’What should I do now?’

Claire Sinclair looked down at the clear seawater. She couldn’t help but take a few steps forward, her fair, delicate feet dipping into the water. The cool sensation, combined with the warm sunlight, sent a wave of pleasant comfort through her.

After walking along the coast for a long time, she started to feel a bit tired. She went back onto the shore and found an empty beach chair, far from anyone else, and sat down.

Seeing the sand stuck to her feet, she unconsciously rubbed the soles of her feet together to brush it off.

Just then, a figure suddenly blocked her view. A pair of very hairy man’s legs came into sight, giving her a real fright.

’Yikes, caterpillar legs!’

Claire Sinclair instinctively pulled her feet back and shuffled away from him.

The man spoke, ”Hello, miss. Are you here by yourself?”

His Chinese was terrible.

Claire Sinclair snapped her head up and saw a Caucasian face. His features were generic, like any other Western man—the kind of face you’d forget after a single glance. But his intentions seemed anything but pure.

Claire Sinclair instinctively rejected him. ”I’m here with my boyfriend. I’m waiting for him.”

”Okay.” The man walked away, disappointed.

Claire Sinclair breathed a sigh of relief, thinking she was safe. But not even five minutes later, another foreigner came over to hit on her, this time speaking English.

Claire Sinclair rejected him in her own broken English, her tone still reasonably polite.

When the third man approached, Claire Sinclair finally lost her patience. She shot him a dark look and said flatly, ”Sorry, I’m waiting for my boyfriend!”

”I’m sorry, you look like you’re alone. Are you sure you don’t need my help?” the man persisted.

Claire Sinclair snapped, ”I don’t need it. Please stop bothering me.”

”You’re such a bitch!” the man cursed before storming off in a huff.

Claire Sinclair rolled her eyes and retorted angrily, ”You’re the bitch! Your whole family are bitches!”

Unexpectedly, the man heard her...

He turned back around, his face twisted with rage and a murderous look in his eyes. ”What did you say? Say that again!”

Claire Sinclair instantly lost her nerve. Her body began to tremble uncontrollably as a long-unfelt tension took hold, her legs growing weaker and weaker.

’Of all the times for this to happen!’

Claire Sinclair quickly raised her left hand, frantically trying to adjust her smartwatch to call for help. But her hands were shaking so badly that she failed to set it correctly after several attempts.

As the man’s curses grew more vicious and he looked ready to get physical, Claire Sinclair’s eyes widened. She could only watch helplessly as he reached for her.

”Hel—” Before the word ”help” could even leave her lips, the man let out a sudden, wretched scream and was instantly pinned to the ground by two people.

It was her bodyguards...

Claire Sinclair let out a long sigh of relief. ”What took you so long? You scared me to death!”

One of the bodyguards, Shane Woods, said, ”Young Madam, our apologies. Young Master Quincy ordered us not to get too close to you.”

Claire Sinclair retorted irritably, ”But you can’t be that far away! If you had been a second later, that damn foreigner would have touched me!”

Shane Woods looked apologetic. ”Young Madam, we will correct this.”

”It’s fine now. Just get him out of here, quickly.”

”Yes, ma’am!” The two of them immediately carried away the harasser, who had been knocked unconscious.

Claire Sinclair took a deep breath and scanned her surroundings. ’Where is Faye? Why isn’t she back yet?’

She lowered her head in disappointment and tried to move her legs, only to find they still hadn’t recovered. She grew more and more frustrated with herself.
