I Married the President

Chapter 404: Chapter 404: Shouldn’t I Be Angry?

The state banquet was in two hours.

Claire Sinclair got off work early and returned to Evergreen Garden alone.

First, she took a shower, washed her hair, and blew it dry. Then, she walked to the wardrobe and took out the peony-embroidered qipao she had altered previously.

She let the bath towel drop, but before she could even put on her undergarments, she suddenly heard footsteps behind her.

Claire Sinclair’s heart tightened. ’Who could it be at this hour?’

’A thief, perhaps?’

’But if it were a thief, the home security system would have gone off.’

’Then... has he come back?’

Although Claire Sinclair had already guessed the answer, she still felt a little scared and re-wrapped the towel around herself.

The next second, the bedroom door opened.

A distinguished figure strode in with steady steps. When he saw the girl’s soft, pale shoulders, a wave of heat instantly coursed through him.

”Looks like I’m back just in time.” Adrian Quincy’s lips curved into a slight smile as he slowly walked over to her.

Claire Sinclair tensed up, her body involuntarily pressing against the wardrobe. The cool wood against her bare back made her shiver.

Just as she was about to speak, the man suddenly lowered his head and captured her lips, which were slightly parted in surprise.

”Mmph...” Claire Sinclair instinctively wrapped her arms around his powerful waist. Her back was too cold; she didn’t dare pull away, so she could only press herself against his warm body.

This act undoubtedly fueled the wicked thoughts in Adrian Quincy’s mind.

”Claire, we still have some time. I want you.”

”Maybe we shouldn’t?”

Claire Sinclair was afraid he wouldn’t be able to control himself. She was also afraid she wouldn’t be able to handle the desire he’d built up after being abstinent for so long. ’What if I can’t even get out of bed later...’

As it turned out, Claire Sinclair’s worries were not unfounded.

If one of his subordinates hadn’t called to rush him, he probably wouldn’t have ended things so hastily, which left Claire Sinclair quite frustrated.

Annoyed, Claire Sinclair jumped out of bed, walked to the wardrobe, and started to get dressed.

The fully satiated Great Demon King Quincy calmly walked over and adjusted the collar of her qipao, saying gently, ”Claire, I’m sorry. I’ll make it up to you when we get back after the banquet.”

”I don’t even want to talk to you...” Claire Sinclair muttered under her breath and tried to walk around him.

Adrian Quincy wrapped his arms around her slender waist from behind, pulling her back into his embrace. ”Are you mad?”

”Shouldn’t I be?” Claire Sinclair retorted.

It was the first time in a long while that she’d actually been able to keep up with his rhythm, and what happens?

He actually sped up and finished early all by himself!

”Claire, I’m very sorry,” Adrian Quincy apologized again.

Claire Sinclair turned and glared at him. ”I’m definitely going to be exhausted after tonight. I’m not doing *that* with you again. You can go have fun by yourself! I’m leaving!”

A mischievous impulse took hold of Adrian Quincy. He suddenly swept her up into his arms and strode out of the bedroom.

Claire Sinclair yelped in surprise, reflexively throwing her arms around his neck. ”What are you doing?”

”You’re so cute when you’re angry. I think this is the first time you’ve ever thrown a tantrum at me.”

’...’ ’This guy is unbelievable. Who gets a kick out of other people being angry?’

Adrian Quincy dipped his head to peck her on the lips, his eyes curving into crescents, making no attempt to hide his delight.

Seeing him with such an elegant smile, how could Claire Sinclair’s frustrated heart bear to stay angry at him? She couldn’t help but smile as well.

”After the state banquet tonight, I’m going to go three hundred rounds with you, and we’re not stopping until I’m pregnant!”

”Three hundred rounds, are you sure?”

”As long as I can handle it...”
