I Married the President

Chapter 431: Chapter 431: You Bastard, You Came and Didn’t Even Tell Me

’If I’d known coming to the beach was this boring, I would have died before agreeing to come!’

Just as she was sulking, a pair of man’s legs appeared before her, and they looked surprisingly familiar...

His legs weren’t too hairy, and his skin was very fair. There was a crescent-shaped scar on his left knee, a small mole on his right thigh, and most noticeably, his six-pack abs, with a tiny birthmark just to the upper left of his navel.

That was... that was...

Claire looked up in astonishment. Seeing the handsome face she’d been dreaming of day and night, a thrill shot through her. She reached out and hugged him, burying her face right into his waist.

”You jerk, you’re here and you didn’t even tell me!” As she spoke, her reproachful tears dampened his skin.

His heart ached as he gently stroked her hair. He slowly pushed her away, then sat down beside her. His gaze swept over her without reservation. ”Claire, you’re not allowed to go out dressed like this again.”

”This is as conservative as it gets!” Claire protested.

After she spoke, her gaze was drawn to the taut lines of his muscles...

He was wearing only a pair of swimming trunks. Though his body was covered in more old scars than the average person, they unexpectedly deepened his masculine charm. ’What woman could resist such an imperfect yet still alluring physique?’

Claire frowned. ”You have the nerve to criticize me? Look at you!”

Adrian glanced down at himself casually, the corners of his lips curling into a wicked smile. ”As it happens, a friend of mine owns this resort. We can have fun here all day.”

”But will you be able to make it to your speech tomorrow morning?”

”No problem,” Adrian said in a deep voice.

Hearing this, Claire hugged him again. ”Does that mean I can tease you to my heart’s content?”

Adrian’s brow furrowed slightly. ”You’d better not.”

”Why not?”

”You’ll be in danger.”

It suddenly dawned on Claire. Her face flushed, and she quickly let go, muttering under her breath, ”Can’t you show a little self-control...”

The corners of Adrian’s lips lifted. ”Want to go for a swim?”

”No, I can’t. My legs won’t move right now, and there are so many people... It makes me nervous...” Her voice trailed off. ’Wait, why does it feel like there are fewer and fewer people?’

’It was so crowded when we arrived, but now... There are fewer people in the water and fewer people on the beach. What’s going on?’

Adrian said in his deep voice, ”My friend is clearing the beach to host us. Rest for a bit. We’ll go play once everyone has left.”

Claire was so stunned her jaw almost hit the sand. ’He can do that???’

”What about Faye?”

Adrian jerked his chin toward a beach chair not far away. Faye was lounging on it, looking for all the world like an imperial consort from ancient times as she leisurely sipped from a coconut.

Seeing Claire look over, Faye immediately smiled and waved.

Claire raised an eyebrow and looked up at the handsome man’s face. ”I’m starting to think you and Faye planned this together.”

”Just think of it as our honeymoon.” With that, Adrian suddenly scooped her up into his arms.

Claire instinctively wrapped her arms around his neck. ”What are you doing?”

”There’s no point coming to the beach if you don’t get in the water. Might as well stay home and soak in the tub. We’re going in.”

”But...”

”Claire, relax.”

’Even if I relax, it’s not like I can just stand up all of a sudden!’

To her surprise, once she was in the water, her legs felt buoyant and weightless. Before long, the feeling returned to them.

After setting her down in the water, Adrian didn’t move right away, instead letting her acclimate to the water’s temperature.
