I Married the President

Chapter 407: Chapter 407: Where’s Your Boyfriend?

’That woman, Melanie Sinclair, may not have any other virtues, but her ability to seduce men is first-rate. For her to be able to come and go from an event like this so freely, with such an arrogant attitude, she must have latched onto some wealthy tycoon.’

With this in mind, Claire Sinclair said with feigned surprise, ”What? Did you get an abortion? That was your first child with my ex-boyfriend!”

”Claire Sinclair, you shut up!”

Jasmine Sinclair’s body trembled with agitation as she warned through gritted teeth, ”I’m married now, and my husband doesn’t know about my past. But if you dare tell another soul that I had an abortion, I’ll expose your ex-boyfriend as a rapist online. If you ruin my life, I’ll ruin yours!”

A chill filled Claire Sinclair’s eyes as she retorted coolly, ”Melanie Sinclair, if you want to keep living your cushy life as a tycoon’s wife, then stop provoking me. I ruined your reputation once, and I can do it a second time. Understand?”

Jasmine Sinclair said angrily, ”Who do you think wants to talk to you? And my name isn’t Melanie Sinclair anymore, it’s Jasmine Sinclair! My husband is the owner of ClickCart, and he’s the one who sent me. Now that you know who my husband is, you know what to do, don’t you?”

’The owner of ClickCart...’

’So, she means Hugh Carson? The e-commerce tycoon who’s been divorced twice and has a terrible reputation?’

’ClickCart had emailed Astoria Daily several times seeking a partnership, but Teacher Hartwell had mercilessly rejected every single one.’

’In Teacher Hartwell’s words, ClickCart was just like its founder, Hugh Carson—a man of poor character. The site was constantly criticized for false advertising, counterfeit goods, abysmal after-sales service, and more.’

’Their attempts to partner with Astoria Daily were nothing more than a ploy to whitewash all that criticism.’

Considering all this, Claire Sinclair knew exactly why Hugh Carson had sent Melanie Sinclair to her. But she feigned ignorance, asking in return, ”And what should I do?”

”I’m going to give your number to my husband. When he calls, you’d better answer. If you dare ignore my husband’s call, I’ll expose all your past scandals online!”

”Hah...” Claire Sinclair laughed. ’This moron. It’s obvious she’s never held a real job. Does she really think the corporate and business worlds are like playing house?’

”Melanie Sinclair—oh, my mistake, Jasmine Sinclair—go back and tell your husband to stop targeting me and Astoria Daily. Otherwise, I’ll make ClickCart the subject of my next feature story, so the whole world can learn just how many skeletons he and his company have in their closets.”

”You!” Jasmine Sinclair was about to erupt, but just then, another voice cut in—

”Claire Sinclair.” The deep voice was filled with pleasant surprise.

Claire Sinclair spun around instinctively and saw Ethan Kingsley approaching with his assistant, Seth Payne. He moved like a decadent young lord on parade, exuding an air of wild, roguish charm.

Seeing Ethan Kingsley approach, Jasmine Sinclair froze completely.

’In the past, she had only ever seen this handsome, wealthy, and perfect man on television or online. She never dreamed that one day she’d be standing face-to-face with him in the palace hosting the state banquet. Her heart began to race, and she couldn’t hide her excitement.’

Claire Sinclair turned slowly, her gaze fixed on Ethan Kingsley’s every move.

Soon, Ethan Kingsley was standing before her, the corners of his lips curved in a roguish smile. ”I knew you’d be here. Where’s your boyfriend?”

Claire Sinclair had no intention of publicizing her relationship with Adrian Quincy at an event like this, so she flashed Ethan Kingsley an ambiguous smile. ”My boyfriend? Isn’t he standing right in front of me?”
