I Married the President

Chapter 445: Chapter 445: A Public Announcement

The Asura Path was active around Nornica and as notorious as the Wild Cherry House. They were a vicious, inhumane group of dangerous individuals with members spread across the globe.

The last thing Adrian Quincy wanted was for his wife to get involved with people like that, so he asked her, ”Claire, have you heard of The Asura Path?”

”What’s The Asura Path?” Claire Sinclair asked in return. She had never even heard of it, but just from the name, she had a feeling they weren’t a friendly bunch.

Adrian Quincy’s brow furrowed slightly. ”It’s nothing. Just finish up your article on the gold and jewels as soon as you can. The longer we hold onto this stuff, the worse it is for us. We need to turn it all over to the state treasury immediately.”

”Alright, I’ll start writing it in a little while.”

”Don’t overwork yourself.”

Claire Sinclair was about to say something when she suddenly realized that he didn’t seem to have any intention of leaving for work. She raised an eyebrow. ”Why haven’t you left for the office yet?”

Adrian Quincy admitted, ”I wanted to spend a little more time with you.”

”You don’t have to stay for me. I’m going to head to work myself after I rest for a bit.”

His heart ached for her. Adrian Quincy gently took her hand, his voice softening. ”Claire, you wore yourself out last night. Don’t go to work today. Just stay home and rest.”

”Worn out? I was thrilled! Who knows, maybe I’m already pregnant? Tee-hee...” Claire Sinclair’s laugh was a little silly, but utterly adorable.

But a dull ache spread through Adrian Quincy’s heart. ’I love her innocence, her pure and guileless smile. It’s a good thing she doesn’t know The Asura Path exists... otherwise, that smile would dim, wouldn’t it?’

”Claire, I love you.” He pulled her into his arms, his resolve hardening. ’Even if I have to fall into an Asura’s hell, I will keep her safe!’

Claire Sinclair instinctively wrapped her arms tighter around his strong waist. ’Why is he holding me so tight? It kind of hurts.’

...

After a full day of writing, Claire Sinclair finally finished her article on the gold and treasures. Before publishing it, she sent it to both Teacher Hartwell and Adrian Quincy for review.

Teacher Hartwell got back to her, confirming it was good to go.

Adrian Quincy was busier, and it took him a while to respond, but he also gave her the green light.

Only then did Claire Sinclair post the article to the Astoria Daily’s official social media page, and she shared it on her personal account as well.

Title: How Strange! But Who on Earth Is Sending Me Gifts?

Subtitle: The Most Stressful Birthday in History.

The article was written in a first-person narrative style. It began with the events of three days ago, when she first received four boxes containing gold, silver, pearls, jewels, and Dove chocolates. It went on to describe the other strange gifts that arrived in succession, including a total of five supercars over the following days.

Claire Sinclair concluded the article by posing a series of questions.

Who is this person sending the gifts? What is their motive? Why are they afraid to reveal their name? And where did they find these cultural artifacts that had been lost abroad?

Finally, Claire Sinclair concluded with a powerful declaration: ”I will be turning over all of these unsolicited gifts to the state treasury to show the world that I, Claire Sinclair, live with integrity and a clear conscience, and would never take a bribe!”

As soon as the article went live, the internet exploded.

[Whoa, she got all that stuff in just three days!]

[That’s way too over-the-top. I don’t believe she got that much stuff. The supercars alone sound fake.]

[But she’s got pictures as proof, and she posted the appraisal reports and the tracking numbers. She even interviewed the delivery guy. With all this evidence, how can the haters still run their mouths?]

[Duh, haters aren’t smart. Why would you waste your time showing them evidence?]

[Claire Sinclair, no matter how much hate people throw at you, I’ll always support you. Keep it up!]
