I Married the President

Chapter 424: Chapter 424: Does This Count as an Official Announcement?

Claire Sinclair was still fuming. She picked up her phone again and called Adrian Quincy.

”Mr. Quincy, have you seen the rumors online? I’m sorry to trouble you again. I’ll handle things on my end, so don’t worry.”

Adrian Quincy waited for her to finish before speaking. ”If we have to, we’ll just make our relationship public.”

”No, no, we can’t go public yet. Let’s wait until I’m ready. Just not now.”

Adrian Quincy sounded a little helpless. ”I’m going to make a simple statement via livestream later. You can’t carry this burden alone.”

”Er...” Claire Sinclair wanted to say that she could handle it herself.

Adrian Quincy said finally, ”I’m hanging up now. Come home early tonight. Muah~”

’What the hell was that kissing sound at the end!’

Claire Sinclair’s face flushed. It was as if his kiss had landed right on her cheek. A sweet feeling, like she’d just eaten candy, blossomed in her heart. She waited patiently for a while, and finally, The Great Demon King Quincy’s livestream began.

Adrian Quincy sat at his desk, his expression as cold and merciless as ever. His voice was devoid of any emotion.

”Claire and I have been dating for over half a year. Everyone at the residence knows this, so there is no ’kept woman’ situation. Furthermore, I don’t believe there are any laws in Aridia that forbid me from buying a house for the woman I love, nor are there any laws that forbid Claire and me from being in a relationship. I ask that everyone immediately stop hurting Claire. If anyone upsets her again, I will pursue the matter to the very end.”

After watching, Claire Sinclair was stunned.

’Did we just... officially announce our relationship?’

’That guy... Even though he didn’t reveal that we’re married, announcing that we’re dating counts, right?’

The couple’s back-to-back livestream statements undoubtedly dominated all the headlines online that day.

Netizens cried out that their hearts were broken, but the majority of them still sent their blessings.

[Waaah, my goddess just reaped my god-tier man. Why do I feel like I’m the one who got dumped?]

[Congratulations! I hope you two will eventually walk down the aisle!]

[AAAAAHHH, I’m so excited! The CP I shipped the hardest has finally made it official!]

[Young Master Quincy is the ultimate wife-doter!]

[Claire Sinclair is so lucky! Please make sure you make Young Master Quincy happy too. I’m begging you, you two have to be happy!]

...

In the end, there are more good people in the world than bad. The moment the two of them stepped forward to make their official announcement, the online rumors fell apart on their own.

On Jasmine Sinclair’s Weibo, her most trending post was hounded by netizens, accumulating tens of thousands of furious comments. Eventually, Jasmine Sinclair couldn’t take the pressure and disabled the comment function.

「The Carson Family Estate, City B.」

Jasmine Sinclair gripped her phone tightly, the flames of jealousy in her eyes threatening to drag her into The Inferno.

’Claire Sinclair, that damn bitch!’

’I’m so pissed!’

’I thought this would ruin Claire Sinclair’s reputation completely, but instead, I’m the one covered in filth.’

’No, I can’t accept this!’

’Claire Sinclair, I swear I’ll destroy you!’

With this in mind, Jasmine Sinclair posted a new message on her Weibo: ”What can I do? They have power and influence, and I have nothing. I was clearly telling the truth, but sadly, no one believes me. Sigh...”

Seeing this post, Claire Sinclair let out a genuine smile.

’Melanie Sinclair, you’ve chosen the hard way instead of the easy way, haven’t you? Fine. I’ll be more than happy to play along.’

「That night.」

At an exclusive club, Hugh Carson was discussing plans for the latest joint project with a client. Men his age rarely surfed Weibo, so he had no idea what had happened online during the day.

Until his phone suddenly buzzed. He glanced down and saw an anonymous text message. It began: ”Dear Platinum Member of Bank X, your card number **** was used at...”
