Ghost Catching System

This news was truly astonishing.

Yi Qingcheng said, ”After space compression, some special things from the outer Human World—to use modern terms, special elements—will enter our world. These elements will trigger certain special abilities in the human body, the most common being the Heavenly Eye.”

Le Shen’s explanation was quite scientific: special elements from the outer Human World had intruded into this space, causing changes in some people.

Yi Qingcheng continued, ”This is both a good thing and a bad thing.”

Chu Hao asked, ”What’s the bad thing?”

Yi Qingcheng replied, ”The bad thing is that our Human World is the birthplace of Taoism, where many valuable things have appeared.”

”For the people of the outer Human World, they can take advantage of the fact that this place hasn’t fully recovered to come over and profit.”

Chu Hao’s heart skipped a beat. ”You mean, those people from the outer Human World will come here looking for opportunities?”

Yi Qingcheng affirmed, ”Exactly.”

Chu Hao thought for a moment and asked, ”Are the people over there very strong?”

Yi Qingcheng explained, ”If this place represents scientific civilization, then that side is a civilization of gods and ghosts. These are two distinct civilizations; you could consider them different cultural species. In terms of strength, those from that side are naturally stronger. Some can even reach the level of Divine Deities.”

Reached the level of a Divine Deity? How terrifying!

Chu Hao was somewhat concerned. If those people came here, what would happen, given the differences in civilization?

Yi Qingcheng said, ”It’s very difficult for those people to come here. Besides, there’s one place that’s holding them back.”

”What place?”

Yi Qingcheng answered, ”The Shanhai Secret Realm. To be precise, if we want to go to the outer Human World, we have to pass through the Shanhai Secret Realm. Conversely, if people from the outside want to come here, they too must go through the Shanhai Secret Realm.”

Chu Hao was surprised. It was the Shanhai Secret Realm, the place he had visited, which was indeed extremely dangerous.

Chu Hao asked, ”Is the Shanhai Secret Realm very special? Can it block people from the outer Human World?”

Yi Qingcheng nodded. ”It’s very special indeed. The Shanhai Secret Realm was once the oldest forbidden area. Half of the Ten Fierce Beasts were born there, and many Divine Deities in history, like the Queen Mother of the West, emerged from the Shanhai.”

Chu Hao was greatly shocked. Bai Ling never told me these things!

Chu Hao asked, ”What will our Human World eventually become?”

Yi Qingcheng shook her head. ”I’m not too sure, but one thing is fairly certain: the face of the Earth will undergo significant changes.”

Finally, Le Shen told Chu Hao, ”You must seize the opportunities during this period. If this place recovers, many chances will arise, such as powerful Magic Artifacts and legacies from Taoism.”

Moreover, she warned Chu Hao to be wary of some individuals who had transmigrated. Not all were reincarnated; some had smuggled themselves over from the other side of the Underworld.

Chu Hao didn’t understand. What did ’smuggled over’ mean? Could it be that people from the outer Human World had smuggled themselves into this Human World via the Underworld?

”It’s roughly like that. The strength of such individuals in the outer Human World is terrifying. Whether human, ghost, or demon, they are all fearsome.”

”Generally, it’s best not to provoke those who possess such capabilities.”

After learning a great deal from Yi Qinglian, Chu Hao was warmly welcomed and had a meal at the Yi family home.

The Yi family had already started treating Chu Hao as their son-in-law.

Chu Hao knew he had earned all of this through his own efforts.

If I had been an ordinary man, would the Yi family have agreed to let me be with Yi Qinglian?

Upon returning to school, Chu Hao heard another astonishing piece of news.

A student at the school was proclaiming he was from another world and was searching for the Taoist treasure, the True Word Brush. The school authorities, thinking the student had gone mad, restrained him. However, the student merely convulsed on the ground a few times before dying. A death on campus was a serious matter, especially such an inexplicable one. The school could only blame the security staff. Chu Hao was also taken aback when he heard this.

Someone from the civilization of gods and ghosts already knew about the True Word Brush?

That very day, Chu Hao found the student’s body. The young man’s family was crying inconsolably.

Usually, after death, a ghost doesn’t stray far from the body. Yet, Chu Hao found no trace of the young man’s ghost.

Could the young man’s ghost have already descended to the Underworld?

He quickly ruled that out, as he discovered a trace of a remnant soul near the body.

A remnant soul? Does that mean he was murdered? Chu Hao was startled.

What kind of power did these people from the civilization of gods and ghosts possess, to be able to affect someone’s soul across two separate spaces?

The cause of the young man’s death was another soul. It was probably due to instability caused by the great distance.

Chu Hao’s gaze turned icy as he declared, ”No matter what power you have, if you’re after the True Word Brush, I won’t allow it.”

This incident prompted the Seventh District to take the matter very seriously and immediately seal off the news.

At first, it wasn’t too hard to suppress many similar reports, but as time went on, it became impossible to keep them under wraps.

News about all kinds of extraordinary events spread like wildfire online. This led many to believe that ghosts truly exist in the world—it’s just that ordinary people can’t see them.

Now, those who could see ghosts began to stand out from those around them, as if simply being able to see them meant having a promising future.

As a result, some people started falsely claiming they could see ghosts, hoping to reap rewards from the state or enjoy the generous treatment offered by Taoist organizations.

When they were exposed, they were nearly beaten to death.

Later, the Seventh District devised a solution: they established a Yin-Yang Registration Station where anyone with special abilities could register.

It was after the establishment of the Yin-Yang Registration Station that the world truly went mad.

Initially, people didn’t believe in it. But later, many parents flocked to the registration stations with their children, as if possessing such potential guaranteed their child a boundlessly bright future.

When Huaxia Country established these registration stations, other nations began to follow suit, all searching for such individuals.

Initially, everyone thought people with special abilities would face rejection, much like in an American movie (Wolverine) that depicted discrimination against the gifted.

However, the practices in some countries overseas shocked countless people.

European and American nations began to embrace countless individuals with special abilities, offering them the best welfare and treatment, which even led to financial strain in some cities.

News reports on the matter were everywhere.

This, in turn, made people realize it was an opportunity. They wondered: if one became this type of person, would their life be worry-free?

However, these individuals first received a name in Huaxia Country: people began to call them Yin-Yang Persons.

A storm heralding a new era swept across the globe!

It was as if witnessing the rise of a new era; people began to take pride in becoming Yin-Yang Persons.
