Ghost Catching System

This crowd engaged in a fierce battle is likely from the Yin and Yang Realm. Could they also be searching for that black hole spewing Evil Qi?

How could they possibly find the black hole? Even Chu Hao had only stumbled upon it by accidentally reversing an alternate dimension.

Chu Hao said, ”Since you haven’t killed anyone, this Taoist Master will let you off.”

The White-eyed Ghost gratefully said, ”Thank you.”

Chu Hao said, ”Wandering like this is no solution. You are welcome to join my Ritian Sect.”

The White-eyed Ghost asked, ”Can I continue to stay here then?”

Chu Hao said, ”From now on, you belong to this Sect Master, and so does the black hole. If anyone comes here, teach them a harsh lesson and kick them out.”

The White-eyed Ghost said, troubled, ”The black hole is mine.”

The White-eyed Ghost always believed that the black hole was her home. Without it, she couldn’t have survived until now.

Chu Hao rolled his eyes. Why was the White-eyed Ghost so stubborn? ”This Sect Master doesn’t live here anyway, so don’t worry,” he said.

”Alright then.”

This task turned out to be easy. I initially thought it would be difficult to subdue the White-eyed Ghost, but to my surprise, she was quite innocent, having just developed spiritual intelligence. It would have been trickier if I had to deal with a crafty ghost.

Chu Hao put away the Cursed Mirror and appeared in front of the White-eyed Ghost.

The White-eyed Ghost jumped in fright and became very vigilant.

Chu Hao said, ”Now that you follow this Sect Master, I will not harm you.”

The White-eyed Ghost couldn’t understand how he had managed to prevent her from returning to the twisted space. It had truly terrified her.

Looking at her dreadful appearance, Chu Hao remarked, ”Your appearance is too ugly. Can you change it?”

The White-eyed Ghost replied, ”I find it safer this way.”

Not all Evil Spirits are malevolent. The desire to protect themselves is what drives them to take on terrifying forms to scare people.

Chu Hao said, ”You don’t need to keep up this guise with me. People from the Ritian Sect are always honorable and upright.”

After some thought, the White-eyed Ghost waved her hand, and her horrifying visage vanished. She shrank a little and transformed into a twelve or thirteen-year-old girl. Her eyes remained white but were no longer terrifying. Instead, they exuded an ethereal quality.

Dressed in a white gown that trailed to her bare, pure white feet, the White-eyed Ghost’s current appearance reminded Chu Hao of a young Hyuga Hinata from Naruto.

Chu Hao smiled and asked, ”This is much better. Do you have a name?”

The White-eyed Ghost shook her head.

Chu Hao said, ”From now on, you will be called Xiao Bai.”

The White-eyed Ghost nodded and said, ”Okay.”

She seemed completely uninterested in her own name.

System Notification: Ritian Sect welcomes Ghost Spirit Xiao Bai. Host has completed 6% of the ’Superpower Faction’ objective. Reward: 3,000,000 Experience Points.

System Notification: Ritian Sect welcomes Ghost Spirit Xiao Bai. Host has completed 6% of the ’Superpower Faction’ objective. Reward: Diamond Treasure Chest x1.

The sudden reward delighted Chu Hao. So, increasing the Ritian Sect’s membership also came with perks!

It’s necessary to invest in Xiao Bai, as a mere ten percent loyalty could easily lead to betrayal.

Thus, Chu Hao flashed a grin, revealing his pearly whites, and said, ”Xiao Bai, do you want to become stronger?”

Xiao Bai shook her head and said, ”I don’t.”

Chu Hao was a bit confused. He had been ready to purchase items to enhance a Ghost’s strength, thereby increasing loyalty. He asked again, ”Then what are your aspirations?”

Xiao Bai indifferently replied, ”What are aspirations?”

You might call her simple, but in reality, she was utterly clueless about such things.

Chu Hao said, ”What do you want to do in the future?”

Xiao Bai gazed out of the building at the dimly lit world and said, ”I’d like to see the outside world, but I can’t be away from that hole for too long.”

Chu Hao clapped his hands and said, ”That’s it! Once you become stronger, you’ll be able to leave this place and go to the outside world.”

Xiao Bai asked, ”How strong do I need to be?”

I really don’t know that either.

So Chu Hao bluffed, saying, ”Stronger than me.”

Xiao Bai seemed thoughtful.

Seeing her nearly hooked, Chu Hao thought, System, is there an item I can buy to bribe Xiao Bai? Recommend one.

System: ”Recommendation for the Host: Purchase the Gathering Evil Array for six thousand Pretentiousness Points.”

Six thousand Pretentiousness Points wasn’t much, so Chu Hao bought it outright.

DING! The Host has purchased the Gathering Evil Array, consuming 6,000 Pretentiousness Points. Remaining Pretentiousness Points: 5,000.

Chu Hao took out the Gathering Evil Array, which was a compass-made Formation, and said, ”This is the Gathering Evil Array. It allows Evil Qi to converge and will facilitate your cultivation.”

Xiao Bai was overjoyed and took the compass.

System Notification: Xiao Bai’s loyalty has increased to 30%.

Thirty percent loyalty is enough for now. It will gradually increase over time.

Observing Xiao Bai, who looked like a little Lolita, Chu Hao was quite pleased. Placing his hands behind his back, he said, ”Cultivate diligently, and follow this Sect Master on adventures in the future.”

Xiao Bai nodded.

After asking a few more questions about the black hole from which Evil Qi spewed, Xiao Bai couldn’t provide clear answers. She was unable to enter deep inside and could only absorb Evil Qi from the edges.

Chu Hao really wanted to take a look inside, but he could barely withstand being half a meter from the black hole. His True Qi began to waver, causing a terrifying sensation of unraveling.

Xiao Bai, however, could enter the black hole but was limited to its periphery.

Without any results, Chu Hao gave some instructions and then left the building.

Stepping out of the building, Chu Hao felt a sharp pain in his eyes, as though sand had gotten inside. They also became irritatingly itchy.

Chu Hao rubbed his eyes to the point of tears, yet they did not get better.

Returning to the dormitory, Chu Hao found his bunk had been set up. Li Yin had apparently found someone to buy it; the guy had worked nonstop and moved into the dorm that very night.

Upon seeing Chu Hao’s return, the three roommates shot him resentful glares.

Chu Hao couldn’t be bothered with them. He found a mirror to check if there was something in his eyes.

One look startled him. His originally pitch-black, bright pupils had turned a deep gray. This deep gray was incredibly eerie, and looking at it for too long would make one’s skin crawl.

”Damn it!” Chu Hao was completely stunned.

Was it just because I stared at the Evil Qi hole for a little too long? What exactly happened to my eyes? Could I go blind?

Li Yin asked, ”Mouse, what’s wrong?”

Chu Hao quickly said, ”Look at my eyes. Do they seem different to you?”

Li Yin stared at Chu Hao’s eyes for a while. The other two were also curious and even used their phone flashlights for a closer inspection. What they saw frightened them greatly, causing them to retreat quickly, goosebumps rising all over their bodies.
