Ghost Catching System

The young man, of course, was not willing to become a Taoist priest since it seemed that they couldn’t marry. The Maoshan Taoist shook his head, claiming that it was possible to marry within Maoshan Taoism.

Then, someone else came looking for the young man: a Taoist from Qingcheng Mountain. It was the principal himself who brought the Taoist to recruit the youth, asking him to join the Qingcheng Taoist Temple.

Qingcheng Mountain promised the youth one million in joining funds to leave the Film Academy. His family would also receive generous compensation, including an apartment of a hundred square meters within the Imperial City’s Fifth Ring.

The young man, of course, didn’t believe it—where in the world were things this good?

Yet, the principal directly promised that all these things were indeed true.

This news, once it broke, shocked countless people.

Most people envied the young man, each starting to wonder if being able to see ghosts might secure them such favorable treatment, thereby foregoing the need for education.

However, most believed that the young man must be crazy, for there were no such things as ghosts in this world.

Nevertheless, similar situations were happening all over the country, and there were many news reports about Taoists descending from the mountains to recruit people.

Chu Hao initially didn’t find anything unusual about it, as it was common for famous Taoist institutions to descend the mountain to recruit followers annually—a matter of continuing their traditions.

But this time, Chu Hao had a feeling that something bad was about to happen.

Because he saw some very special news items.

A Fierce Ghost trying to harm someone was slapped into annihilation by a girl from XX province.

The girl was terrified herself, as she was only acting reflexively to protect herself and had not expected that one slap would put an end to the Fierce Ghost.

Chu Hao was certain that something had happened to that girl.

Such incidents were common in the Yin and Yang Realm, but when they happened to an average person—that was unusual.

What baffled people most was the news that a seven- or eight-year-old child claimed to be a person from a certain era, returning after hundreds of years.

He could draw talismans and even knew some Qimen Dunjia.

Chu Hao was immediately attracted when he saw this news, and later heard that the child was taken away by someone, probably from Zhongnan Mountain.

Such strange news gave Chu Hao a particular sensation that these events were real, and a major incident was likely to happen.

Chu Hao learned that the youth recruited by Qingcheng Mountain was leaving school today, so he went to the young man’s dormitory.

The Qingcheng Mountain Taoist constantly guarded the youth as if fearing he might get lost.

Chu Hao ignored the Taoist and went straight into the dorm building. The Taoist thought Chu Hao was a classmate of the youth, coming to bid him farewell.

Chu Hao asked, ”Wang Xiaofeng?”

Wang Xiaofeng looked up. He was bespectacled and bookish. Chu Hao, observing his eyes, was surprised to discover that he had indeed opened his Heavenly Eye.

The Heavenly Eye allowed one to see certain special things, with the most common being Ghosts.

The Heavenly Eye had various levels. Some people could see Ghosts but not the Ghosts hiding inside human bodies.

Only powerful Heavenly Eyes could distinguish humans, Ghosts, and demons.

Chu Hao’s Heavenly Eye was of a higher level; ordinary Ghosts couldn’t escape his Dharma Eye unless they were stronger than him or were powerful demons.

Ghost Qi couldn’t be concealed. If a Ghost could hide all its aura, appearing like a living person, then its strength would be such that Chu Hao would have to flee upon sight.

Chu Hao immediately noticed that Wang Xiaofeng’s Heavenly Eye emitted a faint green color, clearly indicating that it had emerged later in life.

The likelihood of one’s Heavenly Eye forming later in life was incredibly slim, as rare as winning five million in the lottery.

Chu Hao was somewhat surprised. If it were only Wang Xiaofeng, he wouldn’t have found it strange, since there were cases of individuals opening their Heavenly Eye later in life around the world.

However, these past few days, news reports stated that many Taoists had descended the mountain to recruit people, and some who suddenly claimed they could see Ghosts were also being taken away.

There’s something fishy here.

Wang Xiaofeng said curiously, ”Who are you?”

Chu Hao smiled and replied, ”When did you start seeing Ghosts?”

Wang Xiaofeng responded, ”About a month ago! But seriously, who are you?”

At this moment, the Qingcheng Mountain Taoist priest also looked over and asked with a frown, ”What’s wrong, Xiaofeng?”

The Taoist priest, upon seeing Chu Hao, furrowed his brows slightly and asked warily, ”Kid, what do you want with Wang Xiaofeng?”

Chu Hao turned to the Qingcheng Mountain Taoist priest and answered, ”I’m not looking for him. I’m looking for you now.”

The Taoist priest asked in confusion, ”Looking for me? Could it be that you can also see Ghosts?”

The Taoist priest was also a little delighted, as it would be great to have two people climb the mountain.

Chu Hao nodded.

The Taoist priest expressed his joy, ”Let me have a look.”

Chu Hao waved his hand and queried, ”Why are you taking people up the mountain? What’s special about these people?”

The Taoist priest replied, ”You don’t need to concern yourself with that. If you can see Ghosts, or some other extraordinary things, you can receive five million yuan for going up the mountain, and your family will also receive generous compensation.”

Chu Hao shook his head and insisted, ”What’s special about these people?”

The Taoist priest frowned and said, ”Why ask so many questions?”

At that moment, Wang Xiaofeng looked at Chu Hao and suddenly remembered something, exclaiming in surprise, ”You, you are Yi Qinglian’s boyfriend, named Chu, Chu…”

Chu Hao replied, ”Chu Hao.”

Wang Xiaofeng nodded repeatedly, excitedly saying, ”Right! Chu Hao! Don’t tell me you’ve awakened too? That’s great! I thought I was the only one going up the mountain.”

The Qingcheng Mountain Taoist priest, upon hearing the name Chu Hao, initially didn’t react.

However, upon taking a second look, his expression finally changed.

Chu Hao, an Inborn Expert of the Yin and Yang Realm—if he were an old man, the Qingcheng Mountain Taoist would never have believed this young man to be *that* Chu Hao.

Yet, it was precisely because Chu Hao was so young, matching the rumors, that he was shocked and asked, ”You, you are Chu Hao?”

Wang Xiaofeng was still puzzled, while the Qingcheng Mountain Taoist became nervous and started backing away, saying, ”Xiaofeng, let’s get out of here.”

Wang Xiaofeng replied, ”I haven’t finished packing my things yet.”

The Qingcheng Mountain Taoist said, ”Forget it, I’ll buy you all new stuff.”

He started to pull Wang Xiaofeng away.

However, Chu Hao said indifferently, ”If you don’t talk, I have my ways of finding out. Qingcheng Mountain once denounced me, didn’t it?”

The Taoist priest grew anxious, stopped in his tracks, and pleading with a tearful face, said, ”Chu, Elder Chu, I haven’t offended you, have I?”

Wang Xiaofeng’s eyes almost popped out of his head. What did the Taoist priest call Chu Hao? Elder?

Chu Hao said, ”Tell me what I want to know, and you can go.”

The Qingcheng Mountain Taoist quickly explained, ”This young man has activated his Heavenly Eye, and my task is to descend the mountain and search for such individuals.”

Chu Hao asked, ”There have been quite a few people who have automatically activated their Heavenly Eye recently. What exactly has happened?”

The Qingcheng Mountain Taoist shook his head and replied, ”I don’t know either. I am just following orders to come down the mountain and take care of matters. Elder Chu, please don’t make this difficult for me.”
