Ghost Catching System

Zhang Qi seemed to have had too much to drink. He looked at Qiu Qianxue, his emotions running high. ”Qianxue,” he said, ”I missed you.”

Qiu Qianxue felt helpless. Had Zhang Qi gone crazy? Even if he missed her, there was no need to come over in the middle of the night. Not to mention, he also had a key to her house—that was simply perverse.

Qiu Qianxue was enraged. Pointing to the door, she said, ”Zhang Qi, get out now, or I’m calling the police.”

Zhang Qi’s expression changed slightly. He reeked of alcohol, clearly having been out drinking. He grew furious. ”You’re actually going to call the police?! I’m your boyfriend!”

Qiu Qianxue maintained a cold expression. ”What kind of boyfriend acts like you? Just get out.”

Seeing Qiu Qianxue’s firm stance, Zhang Qi’s tone softened. ”Qianxue, don’t get agitated. Just let me finish, okay? I pursued you for five long years. It wasn’t easy for us to fall in love, but I feel like you’ve changed these past few days. As your boyfriend, I haven’t even been inside your house.”

Qiu Qianxue retorted angrily, ”Stop it! We’ve only been together for two weeks. What more do you want?”

Zhang Qi grew even more agitated. ”Qianxue, I love you so much! Ever since that guy saved you, I’ve felt something was off. It was the same on the highway. Watching you leave with him—do you know how much that hurt me?”

Zhang Qi was jealous of Chu Hao.

Qiu Qianxue was furious. She’d only met Chu Hao two or three times at most, and they barely had any interaction. They hadn’t even exchanged a single WeChat message!

Zhang Qi grew more impassioned. ”After last time, I felt you changed, that you started ignoring me. That guy must have influenced you! I can’t let him take you away from me. Qianxue, I love you!”

Qiu Qianxue didn’t know what to say anymore. She shouted furiously, ”Get out!”

Zhang Qi started to approach. ”Qianxue...” he began.

”Are you leaving or not?! If you don’t get out, I’m calling the police!” Qiu Qianxue threatened.

Zhang Qi’s expression turned ugly. He took two red threads from his pocket, his face taking on a somewhat pathological look. ”Qianxue, I will protect our love. Don’t worry, I’ll always love you.”

As he spoke, Zhang Qi took out a small knife, cut his wrist, and stained one of the red threads with his blood.

Seeing this, Qiu Qianxue’s face filled with shock. She exclaimed anxiously, ”Zhang Qi, have you lost your mind?!”

Zhang Qi looked at Qiu Qianxue. ”Qianxue, come. Give me some of your blood, and soon we’ll be together forever.”

He wanted Qiu Qianxue’s blood to stain the other red thread.

Qiu Qianxue’s face filled with terror. My boyfriend has gone mad! What on earth is he planning?

”No! Get out now! This is my house!” Qiu Qianxue cried out.

Zhang Qi, holding the knife, approached Qiu Qianxue, a greedy look on his face.

Chu Hao was in his room, hearing everything loud and clear. He was puzzled. Nothing was happening in the adjacent room, yet trouble had flared up over here first. What in the world was going on?

Without hesitation, he threw open his door and charged out, delivering a swift kick to Zhang Qi.

”Scram!” Chu Hao yelled.

With an ”AH!” Zhang Qi was sent flying, the red threads in his hand scattering to the floor.

”Ding... Host’s sudden and startling appearance has earned you 900 Pretentiousness Points.”

Showing off again.

Zhang Qi clutched his abdomen in pain, pointing at Chu Hao, speechless. He was utterly shocked that the very person he most suspected would appear in Qiu Qianxue’s room. His worst fears had materialized.

So, he really had been cuckolded.

Chu Hao, emerging from Qiu Qianxue’s room! What else could it mean? They were definitely together!

Chu Hao remarked coolly, ”Looks like you have bad luck with boyfriends.”

Qiu Qianxue’s face was pale. Zhang Qi has definitely lost his mind. If Chu Hao hadn’t been here tonight, I would have been doomed.

Chu Hao picked up the fallen red threads.

Qiu Qianxue asked, ”What are these?”

Chu Hao glanced at Zhang Qi. ”This is a Yin Yang Marriage Thread, a type of Evil Technique. Once one of these threads is stained with the blood of a man and a woman, a spell can be cast to make them inseparable. However...”

Qiu Qianxue’s face turned paler. She couldn’t believe Zhang Qi would resort to such a thing. ”However what?”

Chu Hao’s expression was grim. ”However, this red thread technique is male-dominant. Once the man casts the spell, the woman will be controlled. Also... it’s called the Yin Yang Marriage Thread because, periodically, the thread must absorb the woman’s Yang Qi to maintain its effect.”

”Once you’re under the spell, there’s a high chance you won’t live past thirty.”

Won’t live past thirty!

Qiu Qianxue was completely stunned, looking at Zhang Qi with disbelief.

Zhang Qi’s face contorted with pain. He pointed at Chu Hao and roared furiously, ”You son of a bitch! You two really did get together! AH! AH! AH!!”

Zhang Qi was going mad. He was sure he’d been cuckolded—thoroughly cuckolded!

He’d pursued Qiu Qianxue for over five years and dated her for less than two weeks. He hadn’t even held her hand! And now Chu Hao, whom she’d only met a few times, had swooped in. How could he not be furious?

”I’m going to kill you both! I’m going to kill you both!” Zhang Qi bellowed, his lungs feeling like they would burst with rage.

Qiu Qianxue wiped away her tears, took out her phone, and said, ”I’m calling the police.”

「...」

Meanwhile, Chu Hao was oblivious to what was happening in the *other* adjacent apartment.

Although Bai Ling had drunk a lot, her hearing was exceptionally sharp. She caught Zhang Qi’s roars and said with a faint smile, ”Want to watch a show?”

The other three women were puzzled. ”What show?” they asked.

Bai Ling replied, ”Someone’s about to commit murder.”

The three were somewhat confused.

”Follow me,” Bai Ling said.

Simultaneously, Zhang Qi scrambled to his feet and lunged at Chu Hao and Qiu Qianxue. He was completely consumed by fury, all caution thrown to the wind.

Naturally, Chu Hao kicked him again. Zhang Qi collapsed to the ground in agony, unable to even crawl.

Chu Hao cursed, ”What a piece of trash! You couldn’t beat me even if I let you use both hands.”

Zhang Qi was in too much pain to speak, glaring at Chu Hao.

Before the police arrived, the apartment security guards came up.

After Qiu Qianxue quickly explained the situation, the guards rushed over and pinned Zhang Qi to the ground—though it was hardly necessary, as he was already immobilized.

Qiu Qianxue burst into tears. She had finally wanted to experience love, only to end up with such a boyfriend! If Chu Hao hadn’t been here, she would have been dead tonight! Sobbing, she threw herself into Chu Hao’s arms.

”Don’t cry, it’s all resolved,” Chu Hao comforted her.

”I was so scared... Thank you,” she choked out between sobs.

But just then, a cold voice interrupted, ”TSK TSK... Quite the spectacle.”

That voice...?!

Chu Hao’s neck stiffened. He turned around, his face paling in horror, only to see four women standing at the doorway, looking at them with astonishment.

Luo Yan, Mu Yufei, and Qiu Xueying were incredulous. Bai Ling had said there was a good show to watch, but they never imagined Chu Hao would be one of the main characters!

What on earth was going on here?

Meanwhile, Zhang Qi, still pinned down by security, saw his chance and shrieked, ”You despicable pair! AH! AH! AH! I’ll kill you both!”

”Despicable pair”?!

Luo Yan and the others were even more stunned. Chu Hao had left them, gone to another woman’s apartment, and been caught in the act?

Chu Hao kicked Zhang Qi again. ”Shut your mouth, you scum!” he cursed.

The women looked at Chu Hao, first in surprise, then with disdain. He got caught red-handed and still has the nerve to call someone else scum? Who’s the real scum here, anyway?
