Ghost Catching System

”However, to verify the power of the talismans from both sides, we must have a physical object for assessment.”

Qi Zhongyu waved his hand, and an intern from the Dwarf Kingdom brought forward an urn.

With his Yin Yang Heavenly Eye, Chu Hao could tell at a glance that there was something filthy inside the urn; it was filled with heavy Ghost Qi.

When Qi Zhongyu tore the sealing talisman off the urn, it suddenly shook violently, and the lid flew off with a BANG!

From within the urn, a pair of eerie and terrifying eyes were revealed!

A hand, pale as paper, reached out from the urn; the entity inside was trying to climb out.

Everyone present witnessed this scene and screamed in terror.

It wasn’t just the students; even the prominent figures in society couldn’t help but gasp. Had they not seen it with their own eyes, they would never have believed it. Now, their entire worldview had shifted as a result.

The reporters, stunned for a moment, then frantically started filming everything, their faces alight with excitement. This scene would undoubtedly make headlines.

Among the crowd, Old Yuan also declared excitedly, ”The era will change because of today!”

The people from the Seventh District were also stupefied. Is it finally being exposed?

In the future, they would bear not only pressure but, more importantly, the recognition of the era!

The Fierce Ghost crawled out, its ghostly aura terrifying and wreathed in black vapor. Spotting a person with extremely low Yang Fire, it swiftly pounced.

The victim was a frail student, likely weakened from watching too many adult videos, making him an easy target for possession by the Fierce Ghost.

The frail student collapsed, provoking a round of exclamations as the surrounding people scattered like a receding tide.

”What’s happening?!” the crowd exclaimed.

”Ghost possession! My god! Ghosts are real!”

Even a fool knew what ghost possession meant; countless horror movies had depicted such scenarios.

The frail student’s face was as pale as paper. He convulsed on the ground, black, bloodshot streaks spreading around his eyes like horrifying spiderwebs.

The next moment, he scrambled to his feet, but his posture was animalistic, on all fours. He let out a beast-like roar—a sound so piercing and heart-wrenching it instilled an inexplicable dread in everyone who heard it.

Chu Hao could sense that this Fierce Ghost was at the Top-tier Evil Ghost level.

Qi Zhongyu stated nonchalantly, ”The first contest: drawing talismans to exorcise the ghost. Let’s see who can exterminate the ghost first.”

Qi Zhongyu took out a talisman and began to draw.

He was extremely focused, intent only on vanquishing the ghost to win.

However, the frail student possessed by the Fierce Ghost regarded the surrounding people with intense hatred. His eyes were exceedingly terrifying. Human in life, he had become a Fierce Ghost in death, and seventeen people had already died by its hand.

The more people it killed, the stronger the Fierce Ghost became, as they relied on Evil Qi and murderous aura to enhance their power.

The Fierce Ghost attacked the people around it.

”Not good!” Old Yuan and the others’ expressions changed drastically. The personnel from the Seventh District also sprang into action.

However, this Fierce Ghost was very strong, a Top-tier Evil Ghost, and they had arrived unprepared.

A middle-aged man in black from the Seventh District was sent flying by a swat from the Fierce Ghost, coughing up blood in agony.

Screams erupted from the crowd.

Some people, who hadn’t believed in ghosts before and thought it was all a performance, now saw a living person flung away by the Fierce Ghost. Was that the kind of strength an ordinary person possessed?

Meanwhile, Qi Zhongyu had finished drawing his talisman. Turning his head, he saw Chu Hao hadn’t drawn one and couldn’t help but sneer.

A mocking smile appeared on Qi Zhongyu’s gentle face. ”Chu Hao, it seems your reputation as a Yin Yang Master is nothing more than empty fame.”

Chu Hao looked at the talisman Qi Zhongyu had drawn and said calmly, ”A Yang Sha Talisman?”

Qi Zhongyu sneered, ”Good that you recognize it. Now, watch closely how I exterminate this Fierce Ghost.”

Chu Hao remained incredibly composed. ”Oh! You don’t actually think that drawing one Yang Sha Talisman makes you formidable, do you? To be honest, a Taoist Master like myself doesn’t even consider a Fierce Ghost of this level worth my attention. How about this? If you can eliminate the Fierce Ghost, I’ll concede this round.”

Qi Zhongyu was taken aback, then sneered, ”You said it.”

Chu Hao waved his hand with the poise of a master. ”Would the words of this Taoist Master be false?”

Qi Zhongyu found it strange. Where is Chu Hao getting this confidence? Top-tier Evil Ghosts are formidable, but the talisman I’ve drawn can definitely annihilate it. This guy is far too calm.

Qi Zhongyu readily agreed, ”Alright, then I’m making my move.”

Chu Hao said, ”Wait.”

Qi Zhongyu turned his head. ”What else do you want?”

Chu Hao replied, ”Killing a Fierce Ghost of this level isn’t interesting. It would be better if...”

Chu Hao charged forward. Qi Zhongyu was startled, unsure of Chu Hao’s intentions.

The members of the Seventh District were struggling against the Fierce Ghost. The crowd had scattered; the ghost’s strength was immense. Several burly men had rushed forward to subdue it but were overpowered.

Just then, everyone saw Chu Hao charge up and slap the possessed student on the shoulder.

The Fierce Ghost turned, revealing a horrifying, grotesque face that seemed to hold the superimposed shadows of two individuals.

Chu Hao declared, ”You’re too weak. Let this Taoist Master lend you a hand.”

What did he mean? The surrounding onlookers couldn’t understand.

System, purchase something to enhance the Fierce Ghost’s power, Chu Hao thought.

The coquettish System replied, ”Host, I recommend purchasing the Extremely Yin Talisman.”

”Purchase.”

”DING! Host has purchased the Extremely Yin Talisman, expending 3,000 Pretentiousness Points. Remaining Pretentiousness Points: 13,700.”

Item: Extremely Yin Talisman

Rarity: ★★

Ability: Increases a Ghost’s strength, up to the Ghost Soldier level, depending on Mana Points consumed (effect lasts ten minutes).

This was a talisman capable of boosting a ghost’s strength up to the Ghost Soldier level. Although the effect only lasted ten minutes, it was more than enough.

The possessed student lunged at Chu Hao.

Chu Hao grabbed his hand, flipped him, and pinned him to the ground, then ripped off his shirt to expose his frail back.

”Brush.”

At Chu Hao’s command, the True Word Brush appeared in his outstretched hand.

He swiftly drew on the student’s back. In a mere three seconds, the Extremely Yin Talisman was complete.

Chu Hao formed a one-handed seal and chanted, ”Evil Spirits, Ghost Gods, heed my command! Let the Extremely Yin enter this body, for limitless mana! Swiftly, as decreed!”

”DING! The host has expended 5,000 Mana Points.”

A golden talismanic imprint flashed on the student’s back. The Ghost Qi within the Fierce Ghost surged, released and amplified by the Extremely Yin Talisman, bolstering its latent power!

The Fierce Ghost roared as its Ghost Qi more than doubled in strength!

Originally, it was a Top-tier Evil Ghost. Now, it had instantly transformed into a Top-level Xuan Sha Ghost, on par with the Flirty Ghost King!

Top-level Xuan Sha Ghosts were rare in modern metropolises. The existence of one usually signified countless lives taken, much like the Flirty Ghost King of the past.
