Ghost Catching System

The Taoist priest was gritting his teeth; this kid was too arrogant. But what Chu Hao said was perfectly correct: the Heavenly Bone Woman would likely make trouble for Longhu Mountain first.

Over at Longhu Mountain, they couldn’t figure out the Heavenly Bone Woman’s temperament at all. What on earth did she want to do?

That was why Longhu Mountain had come to find Chu Hao. In the entire world, only he was closest to the Heavenly Bone Woman.

If it weren’t for Chu Hao’s help, Longhu Mountain’s predicament would be even greater. Thinking of this, the Taoist Priest hastily said, ”Young friend Chu, give it some more thought. Together, we can definitely obtain the Transforming Immortal Stone.”

Chu Hao ignored him.

Finally, the national college entrance exam was over.

A group of senior year students threw their books from a high building, venting the pent-up stress in their hearts.

Li Yin approached the podium and announced, ”Party tonight! We’re not going home until we’re drunk!”

”Yeah!” the entire class roared, absolutely ecstatic.

The whole class was thrilled. The year-long pressure of preparing for the college entrance exams could finally be released, and it felt incredibly satisfying.

The female students discussed which transfer portal to use for the party, while the male students began pondering whether to confess their feelings. After all, they were classmates—and weren’t classmates the easiest ones to make a move on?

Li Yin walked over to Chu Hao and, seeing his gloomy expression, asked, ”Mouse, why don’t you seem happy?”

Chu Hao said, ”No kidding. I’ve got a demon living in my villa. You think I can be happy?”

Li Yin scratched his head and replied, ”Well, that’s true. But she hasn’t done anything to you, right?”

Chu Hao shook his head.

Li Yin said, ”Then what are you afraid of? Just be careful as usual, and cheer up. How about we hit a lively club tonight? My treat.”

Chu Hao thought about it and agreed. What was the use of worrying? He should really let loose and have a great time tonight.

”You said it, you’re paying.”

Li Yin chuckled. ”Our whole class is going Dutch, but I’ll cover your share.”

And here I thought this guy was actually treating everyone. So that’s how it is.

The classroom was buzzing with excitement when a delicate-looking girl entered. With her snow-white skin and large eyes, she said softly, ”I... I’m looking for Classmate Chu Hao.”

Ji Qingqing, the belle of the class next door, was also one of the senior year’s school beauties, a prominent figure just like Mu Yuxun.

”Ji Qingqing is looking for Chu Hao? OMG, could it be a confession?”

”Given Chu Hao’s current popularity, it’s possible.”

Ji Qingqing shyly approached Chu Hao, her face flushed red, a picture of youthful shyness. The girl was pretty, with an excellent figure, looking like a sweet and gentle young woman as she said, ”Classmate Chu Hao, I’d like to invite you to join our gathering tonight.”

Everyone envied him.

Although Chu Hao’s face showed no emotion, inwardly he was ecstatic. A school beauty inviting me! This is a scene I’ve always dreamed of!

Seeing Chu Hao’s lack of expression, Ji Qingqing quickly added, ”It’s at Shengshi KTV.”

Just as Chu Hao was about to agree, a discordant voice interjected, ”What a coincidence, our class is going to Shengshi KTV as well.”

Ji Qingqing turned her head. Her large, watery eyes and fair skin made her look like an anime character as she stared at Mu Yuxun.

Both were school beauties, and although others had given them the title, the two had often competed for the limelight to uphold their reputations.

Mu Yuxun looked at Chu Hao and said, ”Chu Hao, isn’t that right?”

Nearby, the socially clueless Li Yin piped up, ”Hey! Weren’t we going to Little Hua Garden KTV?”

Mu Yuxun turned around, her gaze as sharp as two daggers. Li Yin felt his skin crawl and didn’t dare say another word.

Ji Qingqing smiled faintly. ”I only came to invite Classmate Chu Hao.”

Mu Yuxun, hands on her hips, retorted, ”What a coincidence. Chu Hao isn’t going anywhere else today. He’ll be with his classmates.”

Ji Qingqing huffed, ”Mu Yuxun, I invited Chu Hao, not you. I want him to say where he’s going himself.”

The two women looked at Chu Hao.

Anyone else would probably have been very awkward, but this was Brother Hao. He was quite annoyed; so what if they were school beauties?

”Where I go is none of your business, is it?”

The boys in the class looked at Chu Hao with admiration. Facing two school beauties, only Chu Hao could say something like that.

Ji Qingqing felt nervous, her heart pounding. ”Classmate Chu Hao, I... I didn’t mean that.”

Seeing her nervousness, Chu Hao wondered if he’d been too harsh; after all, she had come to invite him.

”It’s fine,” Chu Hao said.

Mu Yuxun rubbed her temples and played her trump card. ”I forgot to tell you, I’ve already invited Teacher Qiu.”

After their recent interactions, Mu Yuxun had come to understand Chu Hao’s personality; she and Chu Hao didn’t quite click. She had been quite grateful when he first helped her family catch ghosts and had felt a slight fondness for him, thinking they might be able to get along.

But later she discovered that Chu Hao seemed interested in mature women—not much in her, but very much in her sister.

That had really ticked her off.

Chu Hao said, ”So what?”

Mu Yuxun flashed a radiant smile. ”My sister will be there too.”

Chu Hao suddenly perked up. ”What do you mean? Isn’t this a graduation party? Why would Sister Yu Fei be going?”

Mu Yuxun tilted her chin up. ”Can’t my sister go?”

Okay, you win.

At that moment, Ji Qingqing said, ”Classmate Chu Hao, my sister will be there too.”

Ha!

Another sister. Given how beautiful Ji Qingqing is, her sister must be quite something too.

Isn’t this putting Brother Hao in a tough spot?

Ji Qingqing leaned close, whispering into Chu Hao’s ear, ”There’ll be a surprise if you go.”

Her words lifted Chu Hao’s spirits. ”What surprise?” he asked.

Ji Qingqing stuck out her tongue. ”You’ll know when you get there.”

”Alright.”

Ji Qingqing clenched her fists, looking triumphantly at Mu Yuxun.

Mu Yuxun, feeling wronged, blurted out, ”Chu Hao, don’t you have any resistance to mature women at all? Are you even a man?”

That little minx actually revealed Brother Hao’s preferences! It was true; Brother Hao really had no resistance whatsoever to mature women.

”Anyway, it’s all at the same KTV.”

「That evening」

Chu Hao was in a cheerful mood. He dressed up nicely in the villa, styling his hair into a particularly flashy do. Tonight’s date... no, gathering, is sure to be fun, right?

Bai Ling lay barefoot on the living room sofa holding a book, her small, fair feet resembling fine jade. She asked indifferently, ”Butler, where are you going?”

Chu Hao flinched. ”Um, the exams are over, you know? I’m going to a class gathering.”

Chu Hao noticed the book Bai Ling was reading—it was about architecture. Is this demon woman crazy? Does she want to build a house?

Bai Ling, nibbling on grapes, asked, ”Going to that gathering?”

Do I need to tell you? Are you my mom or my sister?

A man has to have some backbone. I absolutely can’t tell her now.

”Going to sing at a KTV.”

I want to slap myself! Why the hell did I answer her? Speaking of which, did this demon woman cast some kind of spell on me? The words just slipped out!

In reality, Bai Ling hadn’t used any enchantments. It was Chu Hao’s inner fear of her that made him involuntarily answer when questioned by someone he was afraid of.

This is a psychological phenomenon. To put it colloquially, it’s just being ”timid.”
