Ghost Catching System

The Ghost Qi became incredibly powerful. What was originally a clear sky suddenly filled with dark clouds, turning black as a strong gust of wind howled through the air.

Many people clung to the protective railings of the basketball court; the gale was as strong as a typhoon.

The Fierce Ghost looked at Chu Hao in surprise, its voice a disturbing mix of two, as it spoke in Japanese.

Chu Hao didn’t understand a word.

Chu Hao, with his hands clasped behind his back, said lightly, ”Nothing much. Someone wants to destroy you, so this Taoist Master is just helping you increase your strength, that’s all.”

”Ding… Host has successfully shown off, receiving 900 Pretentiousness Points.”

The Fierce Ghost was stunned, looking at Chu Hao strangely.

The audience: ”...”

Qi Zhongyu: ”...”

Turning its head, the Fierce Ghost looked toward Qi Zhongyu on the stage and suddenly let out a sinister laugh filled with Ghost Qi.

If I could swear, I would have cursed Chu Hao ten thousand times by now! Qi Zhongyu fumed internally.

The others were also speechless.

This was supposed to be a fair contest! Why did you just casually enhance the Fierce Ghost’s strength?

They were simultaneously shocked by Chu Hao’s methods. He had actually enhanced the Fierce Ghost’s strength! With its current power level, even Qi Zhongyu would find it incredibly difficult to eliminate.

Chu Hao, hands still behind his back, said, ”Please begin your performance.”

”GA GA...” The Fierce Ghost cackled viciously and instantly pounced forward, several times faster than before!

A black shadow flashed by. Before Qi Zhongyu could react, he was sent flying by a powerful force.

Qi Zhongyu spat out blood, looking disheveled. He hurriedly stood up, recited the incantation for a freshly drawn talisman, and slapped it toward the pouncing shadow.

However, while he did hit the Fierce Ghost on the head, it was utterly useless.

His talisman was more than enough to deal with a lesser ghost, but against a Top-level Xuan Sha Ghost! It was laughably ineffective.

The Fierce Ghost snatched the talisman and ate it, letting out a strange laugh. It then spoke in Japanese, ”Qi Zhongyu, your time to die has come.”

Qi Zhongyu’s scalp tingled as he retreated rapidly, but he was no match for the Fierce Ghost’s speed.

The Fierce Ghost grabbed him by the neck and violently smashed him into the ground. Everyone could hear the sound of bones breaking.

Several of Qi Zhongyu’s ribs were broken. He screamed in pain, continuously spitting blood. Panicking, he took out a golden talisman and shouted, ”Tianpeng! Greedy Wolf!”

Two Ghost Samurai appeared. Seeing them, the Fierce Ghost quickly retreated. It glared at the Ghost Samurai in anger, clearly recognizing them, and spoke some Japanese.

The next moment, an intense battle erupted.

The three ghosts fought fiercely. The scene was as spectacular as movie special effects, complete with figures flying across rooftops and demonic blades sweeping through the air in an intensely furious combat.

Qi Zhongyu struggled to stand, shaking all over. If it hadn’t been for the Ghost Samurai, I would have been dead by now.

Qi Zhongyu shouted angrily, ”Kill it!”

After a fierce battle, the Fierce Ghost was clearly at a disadvantage. As time passed, its strength greatly diminished.

Just as victory seemed within reach, Chu Hao beckoned to the Fierce Ghost, ”Come here.”

The Fierce Ghost retreated to Chu Hao’s side, speaking a string of Japanese that Chu Hao couldn’t understand at all. Chu Hao said directly, ”There’s no point in you staying inside a human body. Come out. This Taoist Master will help you increase your strength.”

The Fierce Ghost’s gaze was resolute; it clearly harbored a deep hatred for Qi Zhongyu and the two Ghost Samurai. It left the frail boy’s body and knelt on the ground to bow to Chu Hao.

Qi Zhongyu’s face turned pale as he yelled, ”Chu Hao, you—!!”

Chu Hao said indifferently, ”Watch closely. This is how you *really* draw a talisman.”

Chu Hao then used the Extremely Yin Talisman Technique to further increase the Fierce Ghost’s strength. Its power was restored and amplified, vaguely breaking through the Top-level Xuan Sha Ghost rank to reach the Ghost Soldier level!

The Fierce Ghost let out a long howl, filled with excitement, as it pounced once more. This time it was obviously stronger than before, and the two Ghost Samurai were clearly outmatched.

”Ding... Host stuns with pretentiousness, gaining 900 Pretentiousness Points.”

”Ding... Host stuns with pretentiousness, gaining 900 Pretentiousness Points.”

The onlookers were utterly dumbfounded, as if they were witnessing a special effects-laden epic mythological film.

I’m going to cough up blood! Qi Zhongyu despaired. With the two Ghost Samurai being suppressed, once they fall, I’ll be the next to die!

”ARGH!”

The Fierce Ghost tore one Ghost Samurai apart, its soul scattering to the winds.

Qi Zhongyu could no longer care about anything else. His only way to survive now was the Yin Yang Secret Technique of the Qi family.

He took out a dagger and, gritting his teeth, cut off his middle finger. Blood gushed out instantly.

He recited a string of Japanese incantations. The area around him became covered with talisman imprints—this was the god-summoning ritual from Yin-Yang Techniques, performed at the cost of his own lifespan!

Within the area of the talisman imprints, a ghost emerged from the ground. He was handsome, exuded a chilling Ghost Qi, and held a three-foot-long blade.

The Fierce Ghost saw the ghostly swordsman and exclaimed, ”Sasaki Kojirō!”

Sasaki Kojirō was once a powerful swordsman from Yamato Country and the founder of his own school of swordsmanship.

Sasaki Kojirō, long sword in hand, revealed a mocking smile. He charged forward. His sword strike was terrifying; with a single slash, the Fierce Ghost shrieked and was slain.

Qi Zhongyu’s face was filled with rage. He had ”won” this round, but at the cost of ten years of his life.

After killing the Fierce Ghost, Sasaki Kojirō did not vanish. Instead, he turned his attention to Chu Hao, staring at him with an intense battle intent.

Chu Hao used his appraisal skill: Sasaki Kojirō’s combat strength was 14,000 points. With such power, he was at the Ghost General Level.

Sasaki Kojirō then disappeared. His summoned time was short, as he was a deity called forth.

Chu Hao looked at the disheveled Qi Zhongyu, whose middle finger was now gruesomely severed, and said indifferently, ”You won this round.”

He won! Or so it was declared. Anyone could see that Chu Hao had truly dominated the round.

But they had agreed earlier: if Qi Zhongyu could kill the Fierce Ghost, he would be declared the winner.

So, even though Qi Zhongyu hadn’t truly won, the crowd was thrilled by the spectacle. It was incredibly satisfying to watch! The girls screamed, looking at Chu Hao with adoring, lovestruck eyes.

”Master Chu Tian is mighty!”

”This guy is incredible! My entire worldview has changed!”

Qi Zhongyu’s face was an ugly, purplish-blue shade, his expression as if he’d swallowed a dead fly.

Everything was supposed to be under my control! I never imagined Chu Hao would break the rules and play me like this! He seethed with hatred for Chu Hao.

Ten years of my lifespan... How many decades does a person even have?

Qi Zhongyu’s expression turned ferocious as he said, ”For the second round, we shall compete in sealing techniques!”

Chu Hao, hands behind his back, asked, ”What’s the method of sealing?”

Qi Zhongyu replied, ”Our own Three Souls and Seven Spirits. We’ll compete to see who can seal the other’s soul first!”

”Soul Sealing!” Elder Yuan exclaimed.

Fang Jingxue rushed to the basketball court, panting, her chest heaving. She realized she had arrived too late; the first round of the contest was already over.

Judging by the expressions of the crowd, it must have been incredibly spectacular.

Fang Jingxue’s beautiful face was filled with a mixture of confusion and excitement as she asked, ”Teacher Yuan, what is ’Soul Sealing’?”

Elder Yuan explained, ”Humans possess Three Souls and Seven Spirits. If they are sealed, and the physical body loses its spiritual consciousness, what do you think happens then?”
