Ghost Catching System

The mountain peak was majestic, with many Scissor Ghosts floating in midair. They were large, resembling huge sheets of white cloth drifting above.

Midway up the mountain, several Scissor Ghosts were herding a group of people upwards. Many of them were students from the school, along with Qiu Xueying and her homeroom teacher.

Zhao Yun and Zhang Fei immediately took action, charging towards the Scissor Ghosts. With their strength, wasn’t exterminating a few Scissor Ghosts a piece of cake?

Yet, just as they were about to rush up the slope, the earth began to tremble. From atop the mountain peak, an enormous hand burst forth from the soil, filled with an eerie aura.

This hand was too large, at least seventeen to twenty meters, and it bore down on Zhao Yun and Zhang Fei like a house, intending to crush them.

The scene resembled the Five Finger Mountain suppressing the Great Sage Equal to Heaven.

Zhao Yun and Zhang Fei reacted with extreme speed, each unleashing their strongest moves.

BOOM!

The ground shook, and this small space began to tremble violently.

Seeing this, Chu Hao couldn’t help but swear, ”Damn it, in this rotten jar, is this Evil Spirit really that strong?”

Chu Hao was that kind of person: acting strong against the weak and cowering before the strong. He didn’t find this shameful; on the contrary, he believed that surviving was what truly mattered.

Zhao Yun and Zhang Fei were no pushovers either. Beneath the crushing palm, they united their strength in a single strike, piercing through the giant hand. Zhao Yun’s Silver Spear stabbed into its palm, tearing a huge gash as he sprinted across the ground. Zhao Fei was even more ferocious; his stature grew significantly, reaching a height of seven or eight meters, as his Serpent Spear pierced through the hand.

ROAR!

From behind the slope came an angry roar, shaking the entire heaven and earth.

Suddenly, rubble on the slope rolled down, and a large patch of red soil was overturned, revealing a monstrous creature. Its body was massive, like a white sheet spread wide. Its arms were withered, its claws sharp, and its face terrifying—with a pointed snout, fangs, and white hair fluttering. It was just a Scissor Ghost, enlarged countless times.

Chu Hao quickly used a Devil Mask to identify it, discovering that the Evil Spirit had a combat power of 20,000!

20,000!

Wasn’t this a rip-off? An Evil Spirit with a combat power of 20,000 was only considered an AA-grade mission. However, its strength inside the jar was probably enhanced; it wouldn’t necessarily be this strong outside.

It was too big. This Scissor Ghost was definitely a hundred meters tall, almost like a skyscraper. Just looking up at it filled one with a sense of dread.

Zhang Fei hurried over, his Big Black Face even darker as he said, ”My lord, the target is too big.”

Isn’t that obvious? Chu Hao thought, then said with a headache, ”You guys hold him off. I’ll go save the people first.”

Zhang Fei and Zhao Yun also went all out. They were ancient generals; when had they ever known fear, even when facing such monsters?

Up ahead, a furious battle ensued as Zhao Yun and Zhang Fei coordinated to hold off the gigantic Scissor Ghost.

Taking the opportunity, Chu Hao rushed forward, wiped out the smaller Scissor Ghosts, and rescued Qiu Xueying and the others.

Suddenly, the giant Scissor Ghost twisted its head. It fixed its gaze on Chu Hao, its eyes filled with malevolence, as if Chu Hao had killed its parents. With a strange cry, the creature reached behind its back and, as if by magic, produced a huge pair of scissors. The scissors alone were several dozen meters long.

Chu Hao: ”...”

Seeing that pair of scissors, the faces of Chu Hao, Zhang Fei, and Zhao Yun turned ashen. Such a massive pair of scissors could not only cut a person but would also be more than enough to snip a building outside in two.

Without another word, Chu Hao turned tail and ran.

He roared inwardly, ”System, is there any way to deal with it?”

System: ”Recommend Host purchase a one-time-use True Solar Fire Array. Requires 8,000 Pretentiousness Points.”

Now that he had a way to counter it, Chu Hao felt emboldened. He continued to run, shouting, ”Ugly freak, your grandpa is here! If you don’t want to die, come and face me one-on-one!”

The giant Scissor Ghost, having heard Chu Hao’s mockery, grew even angrier, its target now locked onto him.

Chu Hao roared, ”Zhao Yun, Zhang Fei, go find these people’s single soul and spirit!”

”Yes, my lord.”

Chu Hao sprinted away. His claim of a one-on-one fight was just a pretext to run, moving at incredible speed to buy time.

A snip came down, grazing the top of Chu Hao’s head. A nearby small hill was sliced in half—it was terrifying. The Scissor Ghost’s movements were slow. Otherwise, Chu Hao would have been done for.

Chu Hao laughed heartily, turned around with hands on his hips, and said, ”Little trash, you think you can kill Brother Hao? Go train for another ten thousand years!”

”Ding... The Host’s provocative display has successfully angered the target, granting 900 Pretentiousness Points.”

Chu Hao successfully infuriated the other party, triggering a fierce chase.

The Scissor Ghost took flight, hovering in mid-air like a vast net blanketing the sky.

Chu Hao cursed silently and broke into a mad dash.

BOOM! BOOM!

Chu Hao was in a sorry state. If it weren’t for the people he needed to save, he would have purchased the True Solar Fire Array and burned that bastard long ago.

The Scissor Ghost saw Chu Hao acting like an unkillable, incredibly tenacious flea. This infuriated it beyond measure. It let out a long howl and took a deep breath.

The spiritual bodies of the townspeople shuddered en masse. Many of their Three Souls and Seven Spirits were sucked in, all entering the mouth of the Scissor Ghost, which grew another size larger—like a mountain.

So the other souls are inside its belly.

Seeing this, Chu Hao stopped running.

The Scissor Ghost descended rapidly, intending to bring a Mount Tai-like pressure down on Chu Hao to see how he would run then!

Chu Hao’s expression changed, and he shouted, ”Ritian Stick, grow!”

The Ritian Stick appeared and instantly grew in size.

The Scissor Ghost pressed down like a great mountain, but it landed on the Ritian Stick instead. This pressure pained it, causing it to open its mouth and spit out a large number of souls.

Chu Hao, underneath the Ritian Stick, saw this and couldn’t help but shout with joy, ”Ritian Stick, grow even larger!”

The Ritian Stick grew further, propping up the body of the Scissor Ghost. The creature continued to spit out souls, its body shrinking another size.

The Scissor Ghost, no longer pressing down, floated in the air with an extremely unsightly expression—as if it had swallowed a dead baby.

Chu Hao slapped the Ritian Stick, which returned to its original size. Pointing at the Scissor Ghost, he was both triumphant and arrogant as he said, ”A mere Evil Spirit! Watch and see how this Taoist Master suppresses you.”

The Scissor Ghost was furious. It had been an Evil Spirit for far too long. Even the Emperor of Yamato Country wouldn’t dare speak to it like that. Had it possessed lungs, Chu Hao’s words would have surely made them explode.

”Grow!”

The Ritian Stick became gigantic, and Chu Hao, wielding it, smashed it down fiercely.

The Scissor Ghost, enraged, swung its massive scissors viciously. As the two clashed, sparks flew.

In terms of strength, Chu Hao was no match for his opponent, but the Ritian Stick was incredibly heavy, and the Scissor Ghost Evil Spirit couldn’t gain any advantage either.

”Elongate!”

The Ritian Stick was just that awesome—it grew and elongated at will. It stabbed fiercely into the Scissor Ghost’s belly, the severe pain causing it to vomit out quite a few more souls. Looking at its body, it seemed to have shrunk yet another size.

Chu Hao laughed wildly. He was incredibly smug, feeling the kind of gloating triumph a petty person experiences when they suddenly achieve success, and said, ”This Taoist Master has already seen through everything! You Evil Spirits, prepare to die!”

The Scissor Ghost was maddened, its eyes bloodshot and looking as if they were about to burst. It grasped its massive scissors and fiercely stabbed them into its own belly.

Seeing this act of self-mutilation, an ominous premonition surged in Chu Hao’s heart.
