Ghost Catching System

Yao Hu sneered, ”Hmph! Do you really think you can withstand my Ghost Face Bugs?”

BANG!

Suddenly, a large number of Ghost Face Bugs were repelled outwards. Chu Hao stepped out of the encirclement, opened his mouth, and inhaled.

In the next moment, as if gathering clouds and expelling mist, the swarming Ghost Face Bugs were sucked into his mouth.

This scene absolutely stunned Yao Hu.

”Ding... Host has refined Ghost Bugs, gaining 10 Mana Points.”

”Ding... Host has refined Ghost Bugs, gaining 10 Mana Points.”

”Ding... Host has refined Ghost Bugs, gaining 10 Mana Points.”

”Ding... Host has killed five hundred Ghost Face Bugs, gaining fifty thousand Experience Points.”

”Ding... Host has killed five hundred Ghost Face Bugs, gaining fifty thousand Experience Points.”

”Ding... Host has killed five hundred Ghost Face Bugs, gaining fifty thousand Experience Points.”

”...”

A slew of system notifications sounded. Chu Hao felt immensely gratified as he swallowed the bugs, his Experience Points and Mana Points continually increasing.

”Ding... Host has successfully shown off, gaining 100 Pretentiousness Points.”

”Ding... Host has pulled off an ultra-shocking show-off, gaining 400 Pretentiousness Points.”

Yao Hu and Liang Qian stared, their tongues almost touching the ground in astonishment.

Monster!!

This guy is definitely a monster! Those were Ghost Face Bugs! Formed by aggregated evil ghosts, normal people would have their Yang Fire instantly extinguished upon touch, not to mention their souls being devoured in an instant. And he, on the other hand, is devouring Ghost Face Bugs!

You’ve got to be kidding me! That’s freaking terrifying!

Yao Hu’s scalp tingled and his legs went soft; he almost wanted to flee for his life. He was certain he was no match for this person—no, this being couldn’t be called a person at all.

”Ding... Congratulations to the Host, you’ve gained 1,100,000 Experience Points.”

”Ding... Congratulations to the Host, level up! Pretentious Expert Level 2.”

”Ding... Congratulations to the Host, you’ve gained 1,000 Mana Points.”

”Ding... Congratulations to the Host, you’ve obtained 100 Ghost Face Bug eggs.”

Pretentious Expert: Chu Hao

Level: 2

Experience Points: 10,000/2,000,000

Pretentiousness Points: 3,400

Mana Points: 3,300

Career Ability: Pretentious Dice

Ghost Servants: Diao Chan, Sadako, Chu Beauty, Jiayeci, Ghost Dragon (Qiu)

Isn’t this invincibility? By devouring all those Ghost Face Bugs, I’ve actually leveled up and received a full 1,000 Mana Points. This haul is a huge win!

Chu Hao felt exceedingly satisfied. The look he gave Yao Hu became friendlier. After all, aren’t these Experience Points a gift from him?

Yao Hu was so scared he almost fainted.

The Ghost Face Bugs were the result of his years of hard work. Chu Hao had just consumed them, causing Yao Hu indescribable pain, but more overwhelming were his fear and dread.

Especially when Yao Hu saw Chu Hao’s friendly expression, it sent chills down his spine and made his hair stand on end. Never before had he felt such fear towards a person.

Madman! This person is definitely a madman! It’s one thing to have a fierce and malevolent face, but to also have such a friendly one... that’s utterly terrifying!

”Ding... Host’s friendly show-off has gained 100 Pretentiousness Points?”

Goodness, you truly are Brother Hao’s lucky star. It almost makes me reluctant to slaughter you.

Chu Hao wiped his mouth and said, ”Any more?”

Yao Hu stumbled, his legs trembling as he knelt. ”Taoist Master,” he said in horror, ”you are magnanimous! Please don’t lower yourself to argue with a petty person like me.”

Chu Hao’s face was stern, and he ignored the plea. ”I’m asking you, are there any more?”

”No... no more.” Yao Hu was terrified to the extreme, his legs shaking.

Liang Qian watched from the side, stunned. I’m so glad I chose the right side. If I had helped Yao Hu just now, I would definitely be the one dead.

Chu Hao snorted coldly. ”You may be spared the death penalty, but you cannot escape punishment. You’ve refined so many ghosts; your sins are unforgivable.”

Yao Hu wanted to cry. You’re the ferocious one! You devoured all those Ghost Face Bugs!

Yao Hu kept slapping his own face. ”Taoist Master, I was wrong! Please show mercy!”

It was broad daylight. Chu Hao didn’t want to kill anyone, especially with so many people pointing and staring.

”Hey, hey... that’s too much! That kid’s dad is actually kneeling to his son.”

”Yeah! Kids these days are really something else.”

See? These nosy passersby are spouting all sorts of nonsense. Killing him here is out of the question. I definitely can’t let Yao Hu go. Should I turn him into a servant?

Chu Hao immediately exchanged for a Ghost Servant Contract Symbol. This is a great item! Not only is it cheap, but it also allows control over the other person’s life.

Yao Hu was horrified. He knew what that talisman was! Dong Qi was controlled and subdued by a talisman just like that! He adopted a fierce expression. I’d rather die than become someone else’s slave!

Yao Hu said unwillingly, ”Is there any room for negotiation?”

Chu Hao replied coldly, ”Just you? You think you’re qualified to bargain with this Taoist Master? What were you trying to do earlier? Weren’t you trying to take my life?”

Despair filled Yao Hu. Overwhelmed with regret, he suddenly pulled out a dagger and stabbed it towards his own heart.

”Even in death, I will not be a slave!”

With a bitter smile, he bowed his head and slowly stopped breathing.

Many passersby exclaimed in shock. Yao Hu had actually committed suicide. Some were already calling 110.

Chu Hao put away the Ghost Servant Contract Symbol. This guy really couldn’t face reality, actually resorting to suicide.

Chu Hao said displeasedly, ”Such a glass heart. Keeping you as a servant would have been useless anyway.”

Saying so, he looked towards the Ghost Princess.

Liang Qian’s eyes widened in terror. She quickly said, ”Taoist Master, I will follow you from now on. Whatever you ask, I will do.”

Chu Hao’s power is too fearsome. Yao Hu was driven to his death. If I resist, I’ll face a dead end too.

Chu Hao sneered, ”Good, you know what’s best for you. My shop needs a cashier. You can do that.”

Liang Qian felt helpless. I am one of the Twelve Protectors of the Nether Cult, and now I’ve fallen so low as to become a cashier!

The two left. Since there were many people in the park, Yao Hu’s suicide soon drew the police.

The medical examiner was about to examine Yao Hu.

Suddenly, Yao Hu grabbed the medical examiner’s wrist. Blood trickled from his mouth as he gasped, ”Save... save me.”

The medical examiner jumped in fright, looking at Yao Hu in disbelief. This guy was stabbed in the heart, and he isn’t dead?

Yao Hu breathed a sigh of relief. Chu Hao has finally left. I know an Evil Technique, a life exchange. Although I survived, I only have three more years to live. Three years isn’t much, and after I die, my soul will be completely annihilated!

”Chu Hao, you just wait!” In Yao Hu’s eyes, a mad hatred flashed. ”I’d like to see if you can keep the True Word Brush safe. Everyone, from both the Heretic and Orthodox Paths, will come for you!”

Yao Hu planned to reveal the whereabouts of the True Word Brush; he hated Chu Hao to the core.

「Sanqing Pavilion」

Wang Meng and the others saw Chu Hao return with another stunning beauty, and their eyes widened.

Wang Meng’s eyes bulged. ”Damn, Ah-Hao is too much! A new woman every day.”

Liang Qian was very beautiful, especially with her wine-red hair and eyes, which gave off the feeling of a bewitching and blood-charming princess.

After all, she was one of the Twelve Protectors of the Nether Cult, so it wasn’t strange for her to have such an aura.
