Chu Hao couldn’t help but say, ”Loach, how come you haven’t changed at all? You’ve leveled up.”

You’re the loach! Your whole family are loaches!

Qiu wanted to cry, her little head buried in Diao Chan’s chest, nuzzling back and forth seeking comfort.

Diao Chan comforted her, ”Qiu, Master is just joking with you, don’t be sad.”

Damn it, I’m actually jealous of a loach, and a female one at that! Chu Hao thought.

Without further ado, he continued to drift downward. He was surrounded by many Wandering Wild Ghosts, all existing on the very outskirts. As soon as they saw Chu Hao, they became uncontrollably excited.

Chu Hao tried to be amiable, promoting his ideals of truth, goodness, and beauty, and said, ”Amitabha, Immeasurable Heavenly Venerate, this Taoist Master is here to deliver you all.”

A middle-aged Wandering Wild Ghost shouted, ”Deliver your mother? Forget it! Let’s eat him! Our strength will greatly increase! Attack!!”

A group of wild ghosts rushed toward him.

How can I tolerate this? Chu Hao fumed. Do they really think I’m Monk Tang?

Chu Hao shouted, ”...So, you’re asking for it!”

Chu Hao said, ”System, buy me a Ghost-whipping Whip.”

”Ding... Host has purchased Ghost-whipping Whip, consuming 1,000 Show-off Points.”

Ghost-whipping Whip: Pain increases tenfold after three lashes; soul scatters after the sixth lash. (Effective against Dark Killing Ghosts and lower.)

The whip felt perfect in his hand. A single lash cracked out like a purple bolt of lightning—devastatingly cool. The middle-aged Wandering Wild Ghost screamed pitifully upon being whipped.

It was such a pitiful scream—if it were a person, their throat would probably be raw. The power of the Ghost-whipping Whip was indeed formidable.

”OUCH, OUCH! AAAAH!!”

The Wandering Wild Ghost’s pitiful screams frightened the other nearby ghosts. They scattered in panic like headless flies, only to be stopped by Diao Chan and Qiu.

Chu Hao said menacingly, ”This Taoist Master wants to deliver you. Do you submit or not?”

A group of Wandering Wild Ghosts were scared out of their wits. How could they have imagined Chu Hao would be so fierce? With a single lash, the Wandering Wild Ghost’s ethereal form was torn, its soul nearly scattering.

Is this really how one delivers ghosts? they thought. Shouldn’t it be about truth, kindness, and beauty?

”Heavenly Master, I... I submit. I’m willing to be delivered.”

Chu Hao said indifferently, ”This Taoist Master came to deliver you, yet you actually wanted to eat me. A bunch of ignorant Wandering Wild Ghosts! Don’t you realize that when this Taoist Master strikes, even I frighten myself?”

”Ding... Host has successfully shown off, gaining 100 Show-off Points.”

To be honest, the Wandering Wild Ghosts were all cursing inwardly. Is this how one delivers ghosts? This is clearly forced deliverance!

After Chu Hao’s whipping, the other Wandering Wild Ghosts were frightened into silence.

Chu Hao recited the Transcendence Scripture, and the Underworld Merit Gate appeared.

Chu Hao waved the Ghost-whipping Whip and shouted, ”What are you still dawdling for? Get in there!”

”SOB, SOB! Heavenly Master, I still have unfinished business! I beg your magnanimity, spare me this once!” the middle-aged Wandering Wild Ghost cried and pleaded.

Chu Hao raised the Ghost-whipping Whip and lashed out. The middle-aged Wandering Wild Ghost let out a scream, the agony of which only it could truly comprehend.

The middle-aged Wandering Wild Ghost wailed and plunged headfirst into the Merit Gate, thoroughly terrified of Chu Hao.

”Ding... Host has delivered a Wandering Wild Ghost, gaining 1,000 Experience Points.”

Chu Hao was delighted. Killing this middle-aged Wandering Wild Ghost would only have yielded five hundred Experience Points, but delivering it had doubled that amount!

Chu Hao said excitedly, ”System, why didn’t you tell me sooner? The Experience Points for deliverance are so plentiful!”

System: ”As early as when you were an apprentice Ghost-catcher, the Host was reminded, but the Host never took it to heart.”

Chu Hao slapped his forehead. The System *had* reminded me before!

Groups of Wandering Wild Ghosts entered the Merit Gate one after another. They were merely ordinary Wandering Wild Ghosts who, having missed their chance for reincarnation, were forced to remain in the Yin Realm. The Yang Qi in the Yang Realm was too strong for them, so they hid like rats in a sewer system, living a precarious and pitiful existence.

Now, hearing of a chance for reincarnation, they no longer hesitated. Their earlier attack on Chu Hao had been instigated by that first middle-aged Wandering Wild Ghost.

”Ding... Host has delivered a Wandering Wild Ghost, earned one thousand Experience Points.”

”Ding... Host has delivered a Wandering Wild Ghost, earned one thousand Experience Points.”

”Ding... Host has delivered a Wandering Wild Ghost, earned one thousand Experience Points.”

This wave of deliverance netted Chu Hao over ten thousand Experience Points from more than ten ghosts.

”Ding... Qiu has reached Level 3.”

Qiu’s size had finally increased somewhat. However, it seemed to have merely grown fatter, and the more Chu Hao looked, the more it resembled a big, black loach.

”Are you really a dragon, or are you a loach?”

Qiu: ”...”

Suddenly, Chu Hao saw a Xiao Gui hiding in the shadows. He rushed over and grabbed it. It was a young child with a grayish complexion.

Chu Hao glared at the Xiao Gui and said, ”You dare spy on this Taoist Master?”

The Xiao Gui’s eyes darted around. ”Heavenly Master, I... I didn’t.”

Chu Hao said menacingly, ”Speak! Where is the female soul you captured earlier?”

”I... I don’t know.”

”It seems you won’t shed tears until you see Yama.”

Chu Hao lashed out with his whip. The Xiao Gui cried out in pain and quickly pointed in a direction. ”Down below! She’s been taken to the Ghost King’s estate!”

The moment he heard this, Chu Hao no longer bothered with the other Wandering Wild Ghosts. Any further delay, and Teacher Qiu would truly be in danger.

Chu Hao bellowed, ”Diao Chan, Loach, whoever stands in our way shall have their soul scattered to the winds!”

The Xiao Gui was so terrified its soul almost scattered on the spot. This person is terrifying!

The deeper they went, the more ghosts they encountered. From some Xiao Gui, he learned that the Ghost Cave was a refuge for ghosts, especially for Wandering Wild Ghosts. Their numbers here were so large, they reached the tens of thousands.

Hearing there were so many Wandering Wild Ghosts, Chu Hao’s eyes lit up.

But first, he had to rescue Teacher Qiu.

Deep in the Ghost Cave, a ghost, ten feet tall, exuded an aura of cruel tyranny. Surrounding him were a group of obsequious Evil Ghosts, and even Dark Killing Ghosts flanked his side.

The Ghost King said indifferently, ”Someone has intruded into my cave dwelling?”

An Evil Ghost replied, ”Yes, Ghost King.”

The Ghost King had two sharp fangs, his face was as terrifying as an Asura’s, and he stood a full three meters tall.

Ghost King Luo Dong vaguely remembered that when he had awakened, the Ghost Cave was already there. He had lived here for hundreds of years, not remembering who he was, but he had taken the name Luo Dong.

Ghost King Luo Dong was very rational. At his level of strength, his intelligence was no less than that of a living person.

A Dark Killing Ghost approached; it was Wang Shan. He said, ”Ghost King, I know who this person is. A lad named Chu Hao. He has disrupted your plans repeatedly, and now he’s here for that woman.”

”Call me Principal,” the Ghost King said coldly. ”How many times do I have to tell you?”

The Dark Killing Ghost hastily corrected, ”Yes, Principal.”
