Ghost Catching System

Chu Hao, flushed with embarrassment, said, ”Qinglian, I think we should develop our relationship slowly. Let’s talk about holding hands later. You’re too impatient.”

Yi Qinglian rolled her eyes, which still looked quite fetching. Why am I the impatient one? How did this get blamed on me?

His phone rang. Chu Hao picked it up; seeing it was Qiu Xueying calling, he frowned slightly.

”Chu Hao, the Jade Pendant is broken! They... they’ve come.”

”What?!”

Chu Hao was aghast.

Yi Qinglian quickly asked, ”What happened?”

Chu Hao shouted, ”Li Yin, get over here!”

Li Yin ran over eagerly. ”What’s up?”

”Take Qinglian back to school. I need to go to Teacher Qiu’s place; something terrible has happened.”

Li Yin didn’t dare delay and nodded. ”You go on. With me here, no one will dare touch a hair on Qinglian’s head. I’ll fight to the death anyone who tries.”

Yi Qinglian quickly said, ”I’m going too!”

Chu Hao didn’t have time to argue. He sprinted towards the dormitory connected to the classroom building; Teacher Qiu’s life was paramount.

Soon, Chu Hao arrived at the teachers’ dormitory. He kicked the door open and was immediately hit by the smell of gas. The room was swarming with resentful Evil Ghosts.

No wonder the Jade Pendant shattered. The Yin energy from one of the ghosts is overwhelming; it’s already at Sha Ghost Level!

When Chu Hao saw the Sha Ghost, he froze. It was Wang Shan.

Detecting the scent of gas, Chu Hao felt a wave of dizziness and roared in fury, ”Wang Shan, are you trying to get yourself killed?!”

Wang Shan’s ghost let out a cackling laugh. ”You can’t save her now! HA HA HA...”

Damn it!

Chu Hao waved his hand, summoning Diao Chan, Sadako, Jiayeci, Chu Beauty, and a Ghost Dragon.

”Destroy them!”

The four Ghost Servants appeared, and the Yin energy in the room instantly surged explosively. Diao Chan, in particular, was a true Ghost General, capable of instantly obliterating a thousand-year-old zombie.

Covering his nose, Chu Hao rushed into Qiu Xueying’s room. She was, indeed, unconscious, her breathing so faint it was almost non-existent.

Chu Hao immediately picked her up and carried her outside, where the air was much cleaner. However, Qiu Xueying’s breathing remained perilously weak.

Just then, Yi Qinglian and Li Yin arrived. The famous celebrity had insisted on coming, so Li Yin had no choice but to bring her.

”What happened?”

Chu Hao’s face was grim. He activated his Yin Yang Eye and saw that Qiu Xueying was missing two ethereal souls and six corporeal spirits, clearly spirited away by something. If they weren’t retrieved quickly, her soul might disintegrate completely. At that point, not even a Daluo Jinxian could save her.

Chu Hao thought of the Soul Stabilizing Pill. It had the effect of steadying souls, capable of protecting one’s remaining spiritual essence.

”System, purchase a Soul Stabilizing Pill.”

”DING... Host has purchased a Soul Stabilizing Pill, consuming 100 Show-off Points.”

After placing a black Soul Stabilizing Pill into Qiu Xueying’s mouth, he turned to the other two. ”You two stay with Teacher Qiu. Don’t let anyone near her. Li Yin, call Lu Junhe and have him lock down the teachers’ building.”

Li Yin nodded. ”Understood.” He was already making the call.

At this moment, Diao Chan, Sadako, and the other Ghost Servants floated out. Diao Chan looked unhappy and reported, ”Master, that Sha Ghost escaped. We can’t find even a trace of its aura.”

Sadako added, ”Master, it’s just like last time.”

Chu Hao’s expression darkened. This ghost is truly bizarre; how could it just vanish?

”Sadako, you three protect Teacher Qiu. Annihilate any ghost that comes near,” he ordered.

”Yes.”

Yi Qinglian said, ”You go on. We’ll take good care of Teacher Qiu.”

The famous celebrity also understood the gravity of the situation, so she knew she couldn’t accompany Chu Hao this time.

Chu Hao arrived at the Ghost Office. Even in broad daylight, it was intensely gloomy; sunlight streamed in but carried no warmth.

Chu Hao went to the Ghost Cave and ingested the Soul Out-of-Body Pill he had bought the previous day.

A force pulled him out of his body. When Chu Hao opened his eyes, he saw his physical form sitting on the ground.

So this is an out-of-body experience. It feels incredibly strange.

”Master,” a sweet voice sounded beside Chu Hao.

Diao Chan looked at Chu Hao in surprise.

An idea struck Chu Hao. He grinned mischievously and said, ”Baby Diao Chan, let your master pinch your cute little face.”

Diao Chan rolled her eyes, still looking lovely. ”Master, saving someone is more important right now.”

Chu Hao agreed. So, one human and one Ghost Servant, plus a Ghost Dragon that resembled both a snake and a Loach, entered the Ghost Cave.

The Ghost Cave was a manifestation of power typically possessed by Ghost Gods. The fact that this Shen Tu stone statue housed a Ghost Cave suggested it was the work of a remarkable individual. Usually, places like Ghost Caves were used to nurture ghosts. The older the Ghost Cave, the more ferocious the ghosts within became. Once they successfully cultivated their power and transcended the ghost level, they would become Ghost Gods.

This Ghost Cave must be incredibly formidable.

Upon entering the Ghost Cave, they were plunged into pitch darkness. Soon, however, they felt a powerful Yin energy emanating from below.

It was a passage leading straight down.

Diao Chan exclaimed in amazement, ”Master, this is the Yin energy of Heaven and Earth! It’s especially beneficial for ghosts!”

The deeper they descended, the more intense the Yin energy of Heaven and Earth became. At last, they saw some floating spirits—Wandering Wild Ghosts, souls that couldn’t reincarnate.

Chu Hao was about to annihilate them all when the System interjected: ”Delivering these ghosts will grant a considerable amount of Experience Points.”

He’d almost forgotten that. But would these ghosts willingly let him deliver them?

The moment the Wandering Wild Ghosts saw Chu Hao, their previously lifeless faces twisted into hideous masks. They rushed at him, sensing he wasn’t a ghost but a Soul Body; devouring him would make them powerful.

Chu Hao tried to keep his tone gentle and a smile on his face. ”I, a Taoist Master, am here to deliver you. We are not enemies.”

An old Wandering Wild Ghost cackled, ”HEH HEH... let us deliver you first!”

See?! It’s not easy being a good person these days. They’re all drooling over me, more excited than if they’d seen a naked beauty!

Chu Hao’s mouth twitched, but he patiently tried again, ”Let’s talk this over. Isn’t it better to be delivered and freed from this sea of suffering? That way, you won’t have to endure torment in the mortal world anymore. I, the Taoist Master, advocate truth, goodness, and beauty. How about we discuss this calmly?”

A young Wandering Wild Ghost—apparently killed in a car accident, its expression fierce and terrifying, face smeared with blood, brain matter oozing out—said, ”Kid, blame your own bad luck! Devouring you will boost my strength. Then I can roam the world and take any beauty in the Human World for myself!”

Chu Hao: ...

Deliver my foot! I’m not Monk Tang, and I’ve already given you more than enough chances!

”Damn it! I tried to be reasonable, but you threw it back in my face! Baby Diao Chan, attack!”

Diao Chan giggled, patted Qiu on the head, and said, ”Qiu, it’s time for you to level up.”

Ghost Dragon Qiu was thrilled. She could finally level up! Once she grew stronger, would Chu Hao still call her a Loach or a snake?

Qiu lunged forward. She was incredibly fast, like an arrow piercing through the Wandering Wild Ghosts. She opened her mouth and inhaled; the Wandering Wild Ghosts turned into black smoke and were sucked into her maw.

”DING... Qiu has slain a Wandering Wild Ghost. Host gains 500 Experience Points.”

”DING... Qiu has slain a Wandering Wild Ghost. Host gains 500 Experience Points.”

”DING... Qiu has slain a Wandering Wild Ghost. Host gains 500 Experience Points.”

”DING... Qiu has leveled up by 2 levels.”

At level two, Qiu showed no change in appearance, still resembling a Loach.
