Ghost Catching System

Chu Hao offered a faint smile and said, ”Genuine value, absolutely no deception. I wonder about my position as a shareholder though!”

Ghost King Luo Dong burst into loud laughter. ”Master Chu is so capable! Our school is extremely happy to welcome a new shareholder. From now on, Master Chu is the second-largest shareholder of the Ghost School.”

”DING! The Host has completed one ten-thousandth of the Mysterious Underworld task, initially gaining the trust of Ghost King Luo Dong, receiving ten percent trust value, earning one hundred thousand Experience Points, and obtaining a Silver Treasure Box.”

Chu Hao felt a surge of joy. These extraordinary tasks are indeed remarkable, offering tiered rewards!

The Ghost King was clearly very pleased. He laughed. ”Brother Chu, from now on we’re family. How about staying for a meal? Let’s have a good talk about the future development path of the Ghost School.”

The Ghost King was very excited. As long as we have the Merit Gate, the Ghost School will be perfect.

It hasn’t been long, and he’s already calling me Brother Chu. This Ghost King sure is interesting.

Chu Hao asked with a sheepish expression, ”Eat what meal?”

The Ghost King smiled naively. The three-meter-tall giant scratched his head and said, ”I almost forgot, your soul is out of your living body.”

The human and the ghost discussed the developmental prospects of the Ghost School.

Hearing the Ghost King mention that a large number of Wandering Wild Ghosts would be exorcised in the future, Chu Hao felt that this place was indeed a limitless source of Experience Points, which made his heart blossom with joy.

They talked for a long time about issues such as the scale of the Ghost School and how to teach the ghosts.

Chu Hao suggested, ”I think we should establish an Evil Ghost Class to transform their malicious thoughts; this would be very beneficial for our school’s Merit.”

The Ghost King said, ”That’s what I, as Headmaster, was thinking as well.”

The human and the ghost reached an agreement. The Ghost King even took out a manual and said, ”This is the shareholder agreement.”

Chu Hao felt a little awkward. This Ghost King... does he really have to make things so human-like?

Chu Hao said, ”It’s getting late. I’ll send my assistants over to manage things. Contact them for anything, and they will relay the message to me.”

”Alright, I’ll escort the Vice-Principal.”

Heh, how did I become the Vice-Principal so quickly?

The two of them chatted and laughed like good friends. Outside, a group of ghosts gathered, wary of Chu Hao.

Chu Hao counted. There really were a lot of Malignant Ghosts here—twenty-eight to be exact—and countless Evil Ghosts. I guess even if an Underworld messenger came, they wouldn’t be able to clean up this ghost nest, he thought.

The group of ghosts chorused, ”Honorable Ghost King!”

Ghost King Luo Dong frowned. ”I’ve told you, from now on you are to call me Headmaster.”

Ghosts these days are so clever, starting schools and promoting kindness.

Chu Hao’s gaze drifted over to one Malignant Ghost. Who else could it be but Wang Shan?

Chu Hao said, ”There’s one more thing I need to ask a favor for.”

”You may speak freely, Vice-Principal.”

Hearing their conversation, the crowd of ghosts was dumbfounded. Their already pale faces went paler, their eyeballs nearly popping out. Is this living person actually becoming the Vice-Principal? Doesn’t that mean this person will essentially become our direct superior?

Chu Hao pointed at Wang Shan. ”I want to take him away. His deeds after death were extremely vicious. This Taoist Master cannot tolerate such a ghost soul.”

Ghost King Luo Dong thought for a moment and replied, ”Okay.”

Wang Shan was petrified. He’s made a fool of Chu Hao several times. If I’m taken away, how can I survive?

Wang Shan’s ghost knelt and pleaded in terror, ”Honorable Ghost King, I... I have been utterly loyal to you. Please don’t let him take me away.”

Chu Hao drew out the Ghost-whipping Whip and lashed out. ”Run? Let’s see you run now! So you dared to make a fool of this Taoist Master.”

SMACK!

Another lash landed. Wang Shan screamed in agony, silencing the surrounding ghosts, who were now filled with immense fear of Chu Hao.

Wang Shan was in excruciating pain. Being beaten as a soul already hurt, especially by the Ghost-whipping Whip; it was unbearable. After just one lash, he couldn’t even speak.

Chu Hao took out the Hundred Ghosts Gourd and sucked Wang Shan into it.

He glanced at the ghosts, who all wore peculiar expressions, especially the Ghost King.

Weren’t you advocating truth, goodness, and beauty? How can he be so ruthless? they seemed to think.

Chu Hao coughed awkwardly. ”Ahem... I am enlightening him. This ghost is stubborn and needs proper enlightenment.”

Enlighten your sister! He almost whipped my soul out of existence!

”Headmaster, I shall take my leave.”

”Vice-Principal, take care.”

After Chu Hao left, Ghost One hastily asked, ”Headmaster, what is this all about? How did a living person become the Vice-Principal?”

The Ghost King, hands clasped behind his back, his large fangs showing, said, ”Our school needs talent like Master Chu Tian. Your job is to quickly attract more Wandering Wild Ghosts. Remember, we recruit Evil Ghosts too.”

”Yes, Headmaster.”

The group of subordinates dared not ask further.

Ghost King Luo Dong was very excited. With Chu Hao around, the Ghost Realm can become more complete. At the same time, I’m amazed by Chu Hao’s abilities. This living human is very clever; he knows what I’m trying to achieve. Although I don’t know why Chu Hao wants to join, as long as it’s beneficial for me, why not agree?

Yes, the Ghost King wanted to be an overlord, to establish a Ghost Realm in the Yang Realm, modeled on a modern school.

It was an ambitious and grand plan.

「...」

Chu Hao was in high spirits. After reaching an agreement with the Ghost King, he could come and perform exorcisms for ghosts periodically.

The rewards for exorcising ghosts were abundant. With the Ghost King’s help in perfecting this Secret Ghost Realm, future rewards would be even more bountiful.

Haha! It’s like manna from heaven. Brother Hao is in luck today!

Upon leaving the Ghost Cave, Chu Hao went to find his physical body, only to discover...

”Damn it! Where’s my body?!”

Chu Hao broke into a cold sweat. What the hell? Which bastard touched my body? This was an oversight. If I had known I was going to the Ghost Cave, I should have found someone to watch over my body.

He quickly asked, ”System, how long does the Soul Out-of-Body Pill’s effect last?”

System: ”Three days.”

Good, it’s three days. Otherwise, I would have been done for. Brother Hao is furious, and the consequences will be severe!

”Who touched my body?!”

Chu Hao had ways to find his body. After all, there was a connection between his soul and physical form. He flew towards his body’s location.

His physical body wasn’t far from his soul form. He soon found a lodge, and his body was on the third floor.

Chu Hao cautiously approached. Listening through the window, he heard two people talking inside.

”Brother Wu, is this corpse really valuable?”

”Of course. My boss at the construction site said he wants to find a Ghost Marriage for his daughter. This young guy hasn’t been dead long, and his body is still warm—perfect to be the ghost groom.”

Damn it! These two bastards are planning to use my body for a Ghost Marriage!

Chu Hao was fuming.

”So... how much is it worth?”

Brother Wu chuckled. ”Two hundred thousand.”

”What the heck? Why is it so valuable?”

”Heh, you don’t get it, do you? Nowadays, even a kidney can sell for twenty or thirty thousand.”

KNOCK. KNOCK. KNOCK.

”Who is it?”

”It’s me. Open up.”

Brother Wu said excitedly, ”My boss is here to pick up the goods!”
