Ke Ke’s mom laughed, ”Do we have a guest?”

”Hello, Auntie,” Chu Hao said.

Ke Ke’s mom said, ”Perfect timing. We haven’t eaten yet. Let’s have dinner together.”

Ke Ke’s dad was very gloomy. The arrival of the two really annoyed him, especially Chen Ming.

Chu Hao didn’t need to guess. He knew Ke Ke’s mom must be having an affair with Chen Ming. No wonder Ke Ke’s dad was so angry; he sat down at the dinner table and immediately started drinking sullenly.

As Chen Ming and Ke Ke’s mom approached, Chu Hao’s sharp senses picked up a deathly aura emanating from them, causing him to frown.

He had already felt that something was off. What exactly was the deal with these two? Why did they carry the scent of death?

The scent of death didn’t mean they smelled of actual corpses, but rather that these two carried a heavy Yin energy, as if they were accustomed to lurking in dark,陰 places.

”Hello, young brother,” Chen Ming said with a friendly smile.

Ke Ke’s dad, irritated, said, ”Little Chu, have a drink with me.”

”Sure.”

At the dinner table, Ke Ke’s mom said, ”Ke Ke, it’s time to come with Mommy today, right?”

Ke Ke, head down, said, ”Mommy, I don’t want to go.”

Ke Ke’s dad slammed the table and said angrily, ”Liang Yulan, where exactly are you planning to take Ke Ke?”

Liang Yulan retorted coldly, ”She’s my daughter. Where I take her is my business, isn’t it?”

”You!”

The atmosphere grew very tense. Chen Ming laughed and said, ”Ke Ke’s dad, I assure you, Ke Ke will be fine.”

The more Chu Hao listened, the more confused he became. Where on earth were these two planning to take Ke Ke?

Ke Ke’s dad took a sip of his drink and said angrily, ”No! Ke Ke isn’t going anywhere.”

The two started arguing, escalating into a full-blown fight. Ke Ke, heartbroken, ran to her room and slammed the door shut.

Chu Hao felt awkward. This was a family matter, and he knew he shouldn’t stay any longer, so he considered leaving.

DING DONG.

The doorbell rang just then. Ke Ke ran out of her room, opened the door, and cried, ”Auntie! BOO HOO... Mom and Dad are fighting again.”

”It’s okay, Auntie is here.”

Ke Ke’s aunt, with wine-red wavy hair cascading to her waist, blood-colored phoenix eyes, cherry-like lips, and a tall, slim figure, wore a knee-length dress. She was a bewitchingly beautiful woman.

As Ke Ke’s aunt walked in, her first glance at Chen Ming flashed with cold fury.

Chen Ming, upon seeing Ke Ke’s aunt, showed a hint of wariness in his eyes, not daring to meet her gaze.

But the moment Ke Ke’s aunt saw Chu Hao, she froze completely.

Ke Ke’s aunt was none other than the Ghost Princess, one of the Twelve Protectors of the Nether Cult.

Chu Hao didn’t recognize her, but she knew all about him. After a moment’s shock, she couldn’t hide her panic.

How... how is it possible that he found me?

The Ghost Princess’s heart pounded violently. Especially when she recalled Chu Hao’s words over the phone—that she was on his kill list—her agitation intensified.

The Ghost Princess, around thirty years old, was extraordinarily beautiful, with a slender, perfectly proportioned figure, and striking wine-red pupils.

The Ghost Princess was in utter turmoil, terrified of being recognized by Chu Hao and wishing she could turn and flee.

Chu Hao looked puzzled. What’s wrong with Ke Ke’s aunt? he wondered, noticing her darting eyes and trace of anxiety.

Blame it on watching too many TV dramas, Chu Hao thought. He actually assumed Aunt Ke Ke got flustered seeing him, as if her heart was pounding wildly.

He couldn’t help but touch his own face. Could it be that I’ve reached an unimaginable level of handsomeness?

Yes... that must be it! Brother Hao is a natural slayer of mature ladies, haha... I like cougars!

If the Ghost Princess knew Chu Hao’s thoughts at that moment, she would have been incredulous at his level of self-admiration.

The Ghost Princess now felt a rising panic.

When Ke Ke’s mom and Ke Ke’s dad saw the Ghost Princess arrive, they stopped their quarrel.

Ke Ke’s dad, with a stern face, said, ”Liang Qian, your timing is perfect. Your sister wants to take Ke Ke away again.”

Liang Qian glanced at Liang Yulan, a flash of anger in her eyes, and said, ”Liang Yulan, didn’t I tell you Ke Ke can’t go with you? Don’t think I don’t know what you’re up to.”

Liang Yulan, panic-stricken, said, ”Little sister, I’m doing this for Ke Ke’s own good.”

Liang Qian wanted to explode with rage, but remembering Chu Hao was there, she restrained herself and simply said, ”Get lost.”

Liang Yulan and Chen Ming didn’t dare to stay any longer; they were very wary of Liang Qian.

Since Ke Ke was not taken away, Ke Ke’s dad breathed a sigh of relief. His face broke into a smile again as he said, ”Little Qian, have you eaten yet? Stay and have dinner with us.”

Ke Ke’s dad had a pretty good attitude towards Liang Yulan’s sister.

How could I dare to stay with Chu Hao here? the Ghost Princess thought.

If I made a sneak attack, I’d have some confidence in taking him down. But in a head-to-head confrontation, his methods are incredibly unpredictable; I’m no match for him at all.

Ke Ke tugged at her hand and said, ”Auntie, Ke Ke has missed you so much. Please stay and keep me company.”

Chu Hao spoke up, feeling it was necessary to persuade her to stay.

What should I say? For an older woman, especially one who makes my heart race, I definitely need to get her WeChat to stay in touch.

He said, ”Ke Ke is right.”

Liang Qian’s heart leaped into her throat. Can I really not escape this?

She was already in despair. I dare not leave, fearful that as soon as I turn around, Chu Hao will strike me down with one blow. Today... could it really be my day of death? I just didn’t expect it to come so soon. Chu Hao, who are you really?

Liang Qian sat down woodenly, devoid of any hope.

Chu Hao asked, ”Drink?”

Drink? He’s preparing to give me a full meal before sending me off. How cruel. Chu Hao isn’t giving me any way out. He’s dead set on taking my life. Then I’ll drink. Better to die with a full belly than starve to death.

Liang Qian bit her lip, then finally nodded slightly.

A trace of joy crossed Chu Hao’s heart. So, she is interested in me after all! Her expression says it all. I guess Liang Qian usually doesn’t drink. Seeing her unable to refuse me right now, the way she bit her lip in assent... that says everything. Haha... Brother Hao is like Sherlock Holmes incarnate! No one’s expressions can escape my eyes.

Ke Ke’s dad’s earlier mood had vanished. He was now happily pulling Chu Hao and Liang Qian to drink with him.

Chu Hao also drank cheerfully, occasionally finding an excuse to toast Liang Qian.

Liang Qian’s heart pounded wildly. This man is too dangerous. He clearly wants to kill me, yet his face shows nothing. Terrifying to the extreme!

After a few glasses of baijiu, Liang Qian felt the alcohol going to her head. She laughed bitterly. Chu Hao won’t let me go, she thought. So, she began to eat and drink with abandon. It’s better to die full than hungry.

She ate and drank as if she hadn’t had a meal in three days.

Ke Ke’s dad looked on, perplexed. What’s gotten into Liang Qian? That’s several glasses already.

Ke Ke’s dad urged, ”Liang Qian, slow down with the drinking.”

Liang Qian laughed bitterly and declared, ”Live as a person of excellence, die as a hero among ghosts!”

Chu Hao: ”...”

Ke Ke’s dad: ”...”

Damn!

What on earth happened to you?
