Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 2990: Chapter 2991: Reluctant to Let Go

Bai Ruozhu glared at him, ”This is obviously taking advantage, who wants you to coax me?”

Jiang Yichun grinned mischievously, ”Then it is taking advantage, if you’re unhappy you can take it back, I won’t resist.”

She was speechless, ”Achun, where’s your integrity?”

”Shattered on the ground.”

Facing his handsome ancient face, yet he learned so much modern talk from her, it looked quite out of place.

The horse carriage arrived at the Bai Residence, Jiang Yichun got off first, reaching out to assist Bai Ruozhu, but Bai Ruozhu nimbly leapt over and went straight through the residence gate.

Jiang Yichun shook his head with a smile, his wife was just that unique.

Lin Ping’er and Little Dengdeng came out to greet them, ”We just arrived moments before you, heard you went to chat with someone, I thought it would take a while, should have waited for you.”

”Yeah, if you had waited, Achun wouldn’t have bullied me.” Bai Ruozhu said deliberately.

Lin Ping’er laughed, ”I don’t care, mothers-in-law always cherish their sons-in-law, I can’t help you with that.”

Cherishing the son-in-law means wanting him to treat the daughter better, Lin Ping’er wasn’t worried about Jiang Yichun treating her daughter badly, clearly the two were joking, she wouldn’t take it seriously.

”What’s wrong with those two ladies at the banquet today? Ruozhu, did you notice anything? It’s the first time I’ve encountered such a thing.” Lin Ping’er asked curiously.

Unexpectedly, Dengdeng covered his mouth and giggled, Bai Ruozhu was speechless, should have known better than to teach the son poisons, actually he’s better at studying medicine.

Lin Ping’er glanced at her grandson and then at her daughter who looked embarrassed and instantly understood.

”Did you do it?” She asked helplessly.

Bai Ruozhu chuckled awkwardly, ”They were saying bad things about Jinse, so I gave them a little punishment, don’t let it slip, even Jinse doesn’t know, or else she’ll feel bad.”

Originally Lin Ping’er didn’t approve of her daughter’s actions, fearing it could cause trouble, but hearing the slander about Meng Jinse, she had a rough idea who said what.

”What do those two families do, how come they have no manners at all?” Lin Ping’er complained.

Jiang Yichun chimed in from the side, ”Those two ladies are cousins, their mothers are sisters by blood, one family is surnamed Xu, the elder uncle works as an officer in the Capital City, the other family is surnamed She, their second son serves as a magistrate in Jiangnan, but the father of that She lady doesn’t hold any office, manages household affairs and some small business.”

Bai Ruozhu looked at him, ”You found all that out in such a short time?”

”How could I not find out everything about people and things related to you?” Jiang Yichun replied with a smile.

The smile on Lin Ping’er’s face grew broader, her son-in-law’s heart was full of her daughter, she didn’t approve of this match at first, who knew she misjudged.

”Alright, the lesson has been taught, no need to bother with them further, after such an incident, their family will probably arrange marriages outside of Beiyu City, won’t affect Jinse in the future.” Bai Ruozhu said.

Lin Ping’er nodded, ”Jinse that child has had it tough, hope she can recover soon.”

”Mom, don’t worry, she won’t have time to be sad in the future, I’m going to make her work hard for me.” Bai Ruozhu laughed, ”We’re going to partner up and open a Xianglu Shop, and she’ll manage it.”

”That’s a good thing, but don’t wear her out.” Lin Ping’er advised.

In the evening, as the family sat together for dinner, Bai Ruozhu again mentioned her plan to open a Xianglu Shop with Meng Jinse, Luo Family found it interesting and said, ”Is it hard to make Fragrance Dew? Can I learn too? Just for fun during my free time.”

”Of course, tomorrow I’ll take you to meet Jinse, you’ll definitely get along.” Bai Ruozhu said with a smile.

”Alright.” Luo Family agreed.

Over at the children’s table, Xiaoyu had mingled with the other kids, but his wings were still hidden under his clothing, to strangers, he appeared like a humpback, fortunately, Bai Family children were taught from a young age not to judge by appearances, so no one would look down on him for this.

Bai Ruozhu mused, the Heluo Clan Leader should have received her letter by now, right?

Her letter was sent on a Fusang merchant ship to the Fusang Capital, the Golden Wings Clan has a base there, and that’s where the address was, people there would hand the letter to Heluo, otherwise Bai Ruozhu wouldn’t have been able to get the letter delivered to the island.

Once Heluo received the letter, then sent someone to cross the seas to Beiyu City, it would probably be when she returned from the Western Regions.

”Mom, after we go to the Western Regions, Xiaoyu will stay home, and later someone will come with my letter to pick him up, make sure not to stop them.” Bai Ruozhu said.

”Didn’t you say the child had no family?” Bai Yihong had heard Bai Ruozhu talk about Xiaoyu’s circumstances, he felt quite sympathetic for the child, and with Bai Family’s current means, raising one more kid wasn’t difficult, lately, Bai Yihong had even been teaching Xiaoyu carpentry.

”He still has his clan.” Bai Ruozhu was also a bit reluctant to part with Xiaoyu, especially seeing Xiaoyu and her father getting along so well.

But the Golden Wings Clan’s path is the starry seas, the vast skies, not a small courtyard. She couldn’t let her reluctance stop the child from leaving, the Golden Wings Clan’s blood yearns for the sky and freedom, Xiaoyu would one day want to fly.

”Shouldn’t we ask Xiaoyu what he wants, maybe he wants to stay with us?” Bai Yihong asked somewhat unwillingly.

”Dad, Xiaoyu isn’t an ordinary child, we can’t block his path.” Bai Ruozhu said.

Bai Yihong was a bit puzzled, not quite grasping what made him so special.

After dinner, Bai Ruozhu found an opportunity to talk to her father privately and explained Xiaoyu’s situation.

”Those are wings? Can fly in the sky?” Bai Yihong showed an envious look, ”I’ve been trying to make wooden wings, but sadly it hasn’t succeeded, and he was born able to fly.”

”He hasn’t flown yet, when his clan comes, they’ll teach him to fly.” Bai Ruozhu smiled and patted her father’s shoulder, ”Take on a new disciple instead.”

”Alright, I won’t insist anymore.” Bai Yihong said disappointedly.

The next day, Bai Ruozhu took Luo Family to the Meng Residence to let Meng Jinse teach Luo Family fragrance blending, the two talked happily and quickly became friends.

Bai Ruozhu wasn’t planning to take Luo Family to the Western Regions, and Luo Family wasn’t someone who liked to travel everywhere, so she wanted Luo Family to stay in Beiyu City, make more friends, so life wouldn’t be so dull.

When she finishes her tasks, she’d then take Luo Family to the Jiuli Clan.

Meng Jinse prepared some Fragrance Dew and wrote the aroma notes using a delicate calligraphy, her writing style elegant, matching well with the Fragrance Dew, creating a special charm.

”You both give it a try.” She gave some Incense Sticks to Bai Ruozhu and Luo Family.

Bai Ruozhu tried them, the scents were unique, likely to meet different market needs among women, but...

”Have you tested how long the fragrance lasts after applying the Fragrance Dew?” Bai Ruozhu asked.

Meng Jinse was a bit surprised, ”It needs to last a long time too?”

”If the scent doesn’t last as long as incense, we won’t have much market competitiveness.” Bai Ruozhu said.
