Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 2983: Chapter 2984: Let’s Partner Up

Lin Ping’er was not embarrassed at all, ”I’m just learning as I age, isn’t that right?”

”That’s right, that’s right, Mother is the best.” Bai Ruozhu smiled flatteringly.

”Smart move, it’s not for nothing that I helped you with the kids.” Lin Ping’er said with a smile.

Not long after, Jiang Yichun returned from outside, having heard the news at the City Lord’s Residence.

”I’ve already sent someone to investigate, don’t worry.” he said.

Bai Yihong chuckled, ”No worries, no worries, it’s nothing serious.”

Jiang Yichun laughed, as long as Ruozhu was around, big problems could be made small, and small problems would just disappear.

He took out an invitation card and handed it to Bai Ruozhu, ”It’s from Madam Meng, she said she’s hosting a banquet to welcome you tomorrow.”

”We’re all family, why send an invitation?” Bai Ruozhu asked in surprise.

”She’s just upset that you haven’t visited her, old people are like children.” Jiang Yichun laughed too.

Lin Ping’er nudged Bai Ruozhu, ”You should have sent someone yesterday to pay respects and deliver some gifts you brought back.”

Bai Ruozhu smiled wryly, ”I was so busy with the kids yesterday that I forgot, it’s my fault. I’ll go apologize later, no need to wait until tomorrow.”

It’s near dinner time, usually, people wouldn’t choose this time, but Bai Ruozhu didn’t need to stand on ceremony with Madam Meng, compared to her being upset, what’s etiquette?

Bai Ruozhu stood up, ”Achun, let’s tidy up and take Dengdeng to see Grandma.”

”I just got back.” Jiang Yichun smiled bitterly, but still followed her out.

They tidied themselves up, brought the gifts they bought this time, and headed out with Little Dengdeng.

Little Dengdeng proudly held Snowball, tying a harness to it as if taking a dog for a walk.

”You don’t need to tie it, it won’t run away.” Bai Ruozhu said.

”I’m not tying it, I’m letting it hold onto me, I think about things and don’t watch where I’m going.” Little Dengdeng replied.

Bai Ruozhu gave him a reproachful look, ”How about you just get lazy and have Xiaohei carry you, so you don’t have to walk?”

”Great, great, then I can study the Mechanical Box properly.” Little Dengdeng didn’t catch on to his mother’s sarcasm and clapped excitedly.

Bai Ruozhu tugged at his little ear, but not with much force.

”You rascal, how many times have I told you, if you can’t open it, just leave it. Don’t get so caught up in the Mechanical Technique that you become foolish.”

”Got it, mom, let go, it’s embarrassing if people see, how will I ever woo girls?” Little Dengdeng cried out.

”Bai Chengtai!” Bai Ruozhu raised her voice, ”What wooing girls, who taught you that?”

Little Dengdeng shrank his neck, oh no, he said something wrong.

Bai Ruozhu thought for a moment and understood, pinching Jiang Yichun, ”Go talk to your unreliable father, why isn’t he teaching you how to woo girls, but teaching my son instead?”

Jiang Yichun was at a loss, ”Seems he mentioned it when I was a kid, but then we were apart, and I forgot.”

Bai Ruozhu held her head, alright, not only does he mess with his own son but his grandson too. Okay, that Gao Zhou, she should go talk to Mother-in-law Chushuang to deal with him.

The family of three arrived at the Meng Residence and first went to see the old lady, who, although upset moments before, immediately brightened upon seeing Bai Ruozhu, forgetting her earlier complaints, amusing everyone around.

”Ruozhu, it’s so good you’re back, Grandma hasn’t smiled like this in a long time.” Meng Jinse said.

Bai Ruozhu examined her closely, her complexion had improved, and she didn’t seem as thin, as if she had moved past her grief.

She let out a sigh of relief, as Meng Jinse was the one she worried about most, fearing she’d lose hope.

Madam Meng pulled Bai Ruozhu to chat, asking about her journey, and Bai Ruozhu naturally picked good and interesting stories, skimming over dangerous events to avoid worrying the elder.

”You mean that child learned a Curse Technique, causing the death of her stepmother, and also harming her brother?” Madam Meng asked in surprise.

Bai Ruozhu nodded, recounting Xue Zhi’s story, ”Probably her mother found her and told her some bad things, twisting her mind.”

”That maid was no good, so unruly when young, later using her daughter for revenge, she deserved her early death.” Madam Meng said indignantly.

Bai Ruozhu then shared the toothpaste story, which amused Madam Meng, ”Really all the men in the village paraded on the streets?”

”I was surprised too, it’s a pity I didn’t get to see it.” Bai Ruozhu laughed.

”You wanted to see, imagine if they all knelt before you, wouldn’t it scare you?” Madam Meng tapped her forehead affectionately.

Bai Ruozhu laughed, ”No kneeling, I’m most afraid of that.”

As Madam Meng was old, and fearful of digestion issues, she ate early and got sleepy after chatting briefly with Bai Ruozhu.

Bai Ruozhu perceptively took her leave with Meng Jinse, allowing her a good rest.

Jiang Yichun, feeling a bit bored, took Dengdeng to the front yard, mentioning he was off to find Meng Liangshen.

Bai Ruozhu pulled Meng Jinse aside for a chat, ”How have you been lately? What do you do in your free time?”

”Painting, writing, just idling really, or making some fragrance dew on my own, I even made one I think you’ll like.” Meng Jinse said with a smile, her eyes full of sparkle.

Bai Ruozhu got interested, ”Great, let’s have a look.”

”Come on.” Meng Jinse grabbed her hand, leading her forward, both of them chatting and laughing as if returning to their carefree days.

Meng Jinse explained the materials for her fragrance dew, and Bai Ruozhu listened intently, suddenly realizing Meng Jinse had quite a knack for perfumery.

There were many burning incense sticks around, and merchants sold fragrances specifically, some households were accustomed to incense, and even freshly washed clothes had to be scented before the master wore them, but there wasn’t much fragrance dew.

Bai Ruozhu didn’t really like incense, always feeling the smoke too heavy, no matter how light, it easily made her dizzy, she preferred the perfumes of her past life, at least convenient, just two sprays before heading out.

An idea sprouted in her mind and she urgently said, ”This is a skill too, why not open a Xianglu Shop, launching new products each season, guaranteed to sell well, women’s money is the easiest to earn.”

”Me? No, no, I’m just doing it for fun.” Meng Jinse immediately waved her hands.

Bai Ruozhu looped her arm around hers, ”How do you know if you don’t try? It doesn’t require much money, why don’t we partner up? You handle operations, I contribute some ideas, and we split the initial expenses?”

She initially wanted to offer to cover the startup cost herself but thought it inappropriate, Meng Jinse wasn’t short of cash.

”Look at my fragrance dew first before saying that, not sure if anyone would even like it.” Meng Jinse was still somewhat lacking in confidence.

Bai Ruozhu nodded, ”Alright, let’s hurry.”

Both were quite excited, quickening their pace as they arrived at the entrance to Meng Jinse’s yard.
