Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 2681: Chapter 2682: Birdmen Besiege

Heluo remained silent for quite a while, could it really have been their oversight?

”Because things haven’t been ideal in recent years, and we’re not in a convenient position to go to Fusang, we haven’t paid particular attention. I’ll send someone to investigate immediately,” he said, leaving in a hurry without even observing the usual formalities, clearly shocked.

Luan Xin watched his retreating figure and murmured, ”It’s also because they didn’t care about those clan members, or rather, if one doesn’t have wings, they’re not considered part of the clan.”

Bai Ruozhu quickly pondered, Pu Deng was born at the Fertility Tree but grew up in Xinchan Temple in Danliang Country, indicating he was sent off from the Golden Wings Clan’s island. How is this different from the Merfolk Island expelling Duannian?

Perhaps most people have the mindset of viewing outsiders as different at heart. They claim that ordinary children are not suitable to grow up on Jinchi Island, but it boils down to a lack of wings, leading to their non-acceptance by the Golden Wings Clan.

”I wonder if it’s because the Golden Wings Clan intermarried with humans and angered the heavens, or because they abandoned the children carrying the bloodline but without wings, that they faced divine punishment,” Bai Ruozhu murmured, looking up at the towering Fertility Tree. Just at that moment, a breeze passed by, causing the tree branches to sway, and dry leaves to fall.

Bai Ruozhu reached out to catch a falling leaf, initially feeling a bit sentimental, but her expression quickly changed.

”What’s wrong?” Luan Xin noticed her change.

”Xiaomao mentioned this tree is infested with Poisonous Insects,” Bai Ruozhu said, unable to hide her shock. ”Could it be that the problem with the Fertility Tree isn’t the will of the heavens, but sabotage by someone?”

Luan Xin’s expression turned more serious, ”Ruozhu, if possible, please save this tree; I was born on it, consider it helping me.”

Bai Ruozhu nodded hurriedly, ”I’ll have Xiaomao take a look first.”

As she spoke, she released Xiaomao, as Xiaomao had only sensed the aura of the Poisonous Insects on the leaf but hadn’t fully understood the situation.

”But you just brought out your Golden Body, and it didn’t react; previously, your Golden Body would shine brilliantly in the presence of Poisonous Insects,” Bai Ruozhu said.

Luan Xin stayed silent, pondering deeply for a while. ”Perhaps it’s because of being on this island.”

Xiaomao had already crawled onto the Fertility Tree and didn’t return for a long time, leaving Bai Ruozhu waiting below.

Suddenly, two figures flew over, both unfamiliar. One of them was exceedingly handsome, handsome enough to resemble a woman, but tall, with an Adam’s apple, and a flat chest, upon closer inspection, he was undoubtedly male.

The handsome man was the first to speak, ”What have you done to the Fertility Tree? The clan barrier lit up, it must be your doing. Tell me, who sent you?”

The other slightly shorter man said, ”Why bother talking to them, let’s capture them first and talk later.”

As soon as he spoke, he suddenly attacked, his demeanor exceptionally arrogant. Bai Ruozhu quickly utilized magic technique to defend herself, explaining, ”Heluo Clan Leader just left, and it was his request for me to check the problem with this tree.”

”Bullshit! How could the clan leader entrust a mere ordinary person like you? We of the Golden Wings Clan have no solutions; what can you do?” the arrogant man continued attacking as he spoke, angering Bai Ruozhu, who drew out her Dagger to counter him.

As the two sides engaged, it immediately drew the attention of many from the Golden Wings Clan. Infuriated, Bai Ruozhu released Xiaohei to assist. Did it matter if they could fly? She had a black panther to fight alongside her, matching their speed.

Over on the other side, Astrologer and the rest sensed the anomaly and hastened over.

”Is ganging up your Golden Wings Clan’s standard practice?” Fo Lanying sneered, releasing three Mechanical Puppets at once, each one engaging the individuals battling Bai Ruozhu.

Bai Ruozhu grabbed Luan Xin and retreated to stand beside Astrologer and the others.

”What’s going on?” Gao Zhou asked.

”Their clan leader asked me to check on this tree’s issue, but right after he left, they came and accused me of tampering with it,” Bai Ruozhu explained briefly, adding, ”It wasn’t a big deal initially, something that could be explained, but they looked down on us without wings and attacked right away.”

”Indeed, we look down on you. You can never experience the joy of soaring through the skies!” the arrogant man scoffed.

Bai Ruozhu rolled her eyes. In my past life, I flew on planes numerous times, reaching the top of the clouds; who do you think you are?

”Why bother talking, let’s capture them and take them to the clan leader,” suggested another Birdman.

”Yes, capture them, don’t let them play any tricks; these people are the most treacherous!”

”All together now, don’t hold back!”

The Golden Wings Clan members shouted, and Bai Ruozhu watched them coldly. Among them were experts, but many weren’t very strong; their only advantage was their ability to fly. Indeed, they really would send you to the heavens at the slightest disagreement. Bai Ruozhu was prepared this time, and with Xiaohei accompanying her, the Golden Wings Clan couldn’t catch her, preventing her from being whisked away.

”Be careful, everyone, don’t let them take you up into the sky.” Bai Ruozhu warned in a low voice.

As soon as her words fell, both sides clashed. With Gao Zhou and the others joining in, the Golden Wings Clan, despite their numbers, didn’t gain the upper hand.

Suddenly, Luan Xin, standing behind Bai Ruozhu, let out a cry. Bai Ruozhu turned hurriedly, only to see Luan Xin being snatched by a Birdman, flying up high into the sky.

”Stop, or I’ll drop him!” the Birdman shouted loudly.

Bai Ruozhu and her companions had to halt their actions. She coldly eyed the Birdman holding Luan Xin, ”I didn’t expect the Golden Wings Clan to be so despicable, resorting to attacking a child.”

”You tampered with our Fertility Tree and accuse us of despicable actions? If the Fertility Tree dies, our Golden Wings Clan can’t propagate. If you want to blame anyone, blame yourselves for not being honest!” the Birdman retorted.

”You keep saying we tampered with it, where’s your evidence? Without proof, you falsely accuse us and still seize a child, is this the nature of the Golden Wings Clan?” Bai Ruozhu exclaimed, angry.

”Enough talk, surrender now, or I’ll drop him.” the Birdman demanded.

Bai Ruozhu squinted her eyes. Are they forcing her to use poison? She respected Clan Leader Heluo and had refrained from using poison in her search for clues about Merfolk Island, but these Birdmen had pushed too far!

Just then, Astrologer subtly signaled Bai Ruozhu. Bai Ruozhu instantly realized he intended to act, and she quickly told Fo Lanying, ”Have your puppet catch him.”

In an instant, a fine drizzle began to fall, showering everyone present.

”How is it raining?” a Birdman exclaimed in surprise. ”The Barrier covers the island, rain can’t enter, how is it suddenly raining?”

Astrologer chuckled enigmatically, uttering three words, ”Yin Yang Rain.”

The Birdman holding Luan Xin suddenly felt weak all over, slowly descending as even his wings lost strength.
