Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 2673: Chapter 2674: The Story of the White Dragon

After resting for a night, Bai Ruozhu planned to find the White Dragon again. On one hand, she had found some medicine to repair Divine Sense, which might reduce some of the White Dragon’s pain. On the other hand, she had many questions to ask the White Dragon and wanted to learn more about the Merfolk Clan.

Because the Harmony ship still needed repairs, both parties discussed and decided that the main force would first go with the Harmony to find a docking place, leaving the original official ship to wait for Bai Ruozhu and the others.

”We haven’t found the traitor yet; I’m really worried, so I’ll stay with you.” Gao Zhou also asked to stay when he heard.

Others naturally wanted to help too, but Bai Ruozhu refused them all, ”The people who attacked me are targeting the Harmony, so we need to leave more people to guard it. We can’t have the ship being robbed again, can we?”

The decision was made quickly, and everyone followed the Harmony and left first.

Sibao wanted to follow Bai Ruozhu and the others; for some reason, it was particularly attached to Bai Ruozhu, not wanting anyone else to follow.

After arranging everyone, Bai Ruozhu and Jiang Yichun took Gao Zhou and dove into the sea. With Quanxin’s guidance, Bai Ruozhu quickly led them to the undersea vortex.

”Father, jump in, and don’t use inner strength to resist, or else we won’t get through.” Jiang Yichun said to Gao Zhou.

Gao Zhou couldn’t speak in the water, so he nodded vigorously.

Jiang Yichun went down first, followed closely by Bai Ruozhu, and then Gao Zhou.

This time, it was very smooth. The three entered the Gold Palace without encountering any ground tilting. They quickly entered the restriction and found the White Dragon.

The White Dragon was still in great pain, and Bai Ruozhu took out some medicine.

”This is medicine for repairing Divine Sense. Although it has little effect on dragons, it should at least make you feel a bit better.”

The White Dragon remained proud, enduring the pain and saying, ”I don’t need treatment. I am immensely powerful; what’s some minor injuries and pain to me?”

Bai Ruozhu was a bit helpless and said irritably, ”With such arrogance, no wonder you were deceived by the Merfolk back then.”

”Nonsense!” the White Dragon roared, ”I wasn’t arrogant; I was deceived by a Merfolk woman!”

As it spoke, its form began to change, the enormous dragon body gradually shrinking, eventually turning into a proud man dressed in white.

He was incomparably handsome, with sword-like eyebrows reaching his temples, and an especially prominent nose. Unfortunately, his eyes carried overwhelming hatred, which greatly affected his overall demeanor.

”You can turn into a human?” Bai Ruozhu asked in surprise.

”Nonsense, I could turn into a human centuries ago. Huh, who is this person?” the White Dragon finally noticed Gao Zhou, who had come along.

”He’s my father,” Jiang Yichun answered.

The White Dragon suddenly laughed disdainfully, ”Isn’t he the man who was deceived by the Merfolk Saintess?”

Gao Zhou’s hackles immediately rose, ”Chushuang never deceived me, you were the one deceived!”

With a bang, Gao Zhou was sent flying, landing more than ten meters away. Jiang Yichun hurried to help him, while Bai Ruozhu blocked the White Dragon’s gaze to prevent it from getting angrier.

”I was indeed deceived. If it weren’t for that Merfolk Saintess, how would I have ended up in this situation?” The White Dragon shouted, his entire face twisting, slightly losing control.

Bai Ruozhu frowned, this dragon’s emotional outbursts were probably related to severe trauma, as well as being trapped here and tortured for hundreds of years.

She moved her fingers, releasing some calming medicine, then swiftly moved to the White Dragon’s side and threw the repair medicine into his mouth.

Originally, she couldn’t control the White Dragon, but the calming medicine made the White Dragon a bit more peaceful, plus the White Dragon knew it was medicine for repairing Divine Sense, so he didn’t knock her away.

Gao Zhou coughed a few times but fortunately was fine. Even though he landed far away, he didn’t suffer internal injuries.

”What exactly happened back then? You’ve kept it bottled up for hundreds of years, wouldn’t you like to talk to someone?” Bai Ruozhu asked softly.

Perhaps the White Dragon succumbed to the calming medicine, or maybe he just couldn’t hold it in any longer, he slowly began to speak.

”I’ve lived a long time, probably a thousand years or so, a dragon’s lifespan is always long. Until about four or five hundred years ago, I met a woman in Donghai. It’s been so long that I don’t even remember if it was four hundred or five hundred years. She was the Merfolk Clan’s Saintess, her manner was as gentle as an orchid, exceedingly kind and gentle, but it was all just a facade.”

”Back then, the Merfolk only had human bodies with fish tails and lived in this Gold Palace. They were wealthy and intelligent, and as an extremely united group, they held a high status in Donghai. But the Merfolk weren’t satisfied with their current situation; they always wanted to live onshore, but unfortunately, their fish tails couldn’t survive on land, and would dry up on land.”

”I fell in love with Qingqian later, and she envied my ability to shapeshift into a human, wanting me to take her to see the land. So we chose a rainy day specifically, but when we were halfway onshore playing, the rain stopped, and the sun came out, drying her fish tail bit by bit. I pitied her and painfully removed my Dragon Ball, letting her hold it in her mouth to ensure her safety. Not expecting that after she held the Dragon Ball, not only did her fish tail stop drying up, it actually turned into human legs!”

”At the time, we were very happy, even stayed among humans for several months, and got married. But unexpectedly, one morning she disappeared, leaving a letter saying she couldn’t abandon her people, and she must return to aid them so they could also leave the deep sea.”

The White Dragon smiled bitterly, ”I loved her deeply, and she knew that my strength would greatly diminish without the Dragon Ball, and she knew I would suffer constant excruciating pain without it, yet she still took my Dragon Ball, because she had planned it all from the start!”

Bai Ruozhu could feel the White Dragon’s sorrow, and her heart ached with it. A dragon had fallen in love with a Merfolk, offering her his most precious Dragon Ball, even willing to endure daily torment for her, yet she still betrayed him.

”Originally, I didn’t believe she would betray me, thinking she must have been forced back by the Merfolk, that she had no choice. How laughable that I was blinded by love at the time, those Merfolk couldn’t even come ashore! I found this place, trying to rescue her, but was trapped by the Merfolk’s design in the Great Formation, and it was her who activated the Formation!”

The White Dragon laughed loudly, tears streaming down from the corners of his eyes.

”She claimed she wanted to free the Merfolk descendants from the shackles of their fish tails, to continue earning the respect of her people. So she needed my Dragon Ball, with the Merfolk’s Secret Method, it would ensure the future offspring of the Merfolk would appear human. Later, all the Merfolk moved from here to the Merfolk Island in Donghai, and she became the new queen of the Merfolk.”

”Ironically, I cursed the entire Merfolk Clan with hatred, which frightened them enough to finally dethrone her and send her here bound, saying they would use her to exchange for the removal of the Curse.” The White Dragon’s laugh was full of sarcasm, ”I truthfully told them that only by returning my Dragon Ball could I remove the Curse, but the Merfolk couldn’t bear to part with it and ultimately left her here begging me every day.”
