Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 2667: Chapter 2668: Almost Fell Down

Bai Ruozhu couldn’t enter the Space now, and Jin Lian couldn’t resurrect instantly either, so she simply sent it in and left it alone. If it survived, it would be fortunate; if not, she could collect a few Jin Lian as medicinal materials.

She just didn’t know what kind of medicinal properties this thing had, so she planned to study it later.

The thought of researching new medicinal materials excited Bai Ruozhu, and she pondered whether she might encounter such good things again and collect them altogether.

The two left the Fountain Pond, and the sound of water continued. It seemed there was a small Mechanical device below. Although they didn’t know how long it had been abandoned, the device hadn’t stopped, which indicated its intricacy.

”How have we been walking for so long, seeing only the scenery of the garden? Does this mean we still haven’t reached the Palace?” Bai Ruozhu couldn’t help but ask.

”This garden could rival the imperial palace of Fusang,” Jiang Yichun commented.

Bai Ruozhu suddenly widened her eyes, ”Do you think this might be the Imperial Palace of the Merfolk?”

She became a bit excited, ”It seems to have been abandoned, but shouldn’t it have been an Imperial Palace long ago?”

Jiang Yichun’s eyes also lit up; this time, it truly was a blessing in disguise.

As they continued walking forward, they soon saw a Liang Pavilion in a corner. The pavilion’s pillars and roof were also golden, but it was a light gold, appearing very elegant.

”The pillars were also coated with the juice of the Golden Light Grass, but the Golden Light Grass is rare, and here it’s used as if it’s free,” Jiang Yichun pointed to the top of the pavilion, ”The fixed Metal up there shouldn’t be gold; it’s called Shimmering Fish Stone.”

Bai Ruozhu looked up and saw fish-shaped decorations used to secure the wood at the top of the pavilion.

”It’s rumored that these Shimmering Fish Stones naturally take on fish shapes and emit a golden glow. If they’re kept in seawater for a thousand years, they might gain life, but who can live for a thousand years? So no one knows if it’s true,” Jiang Yichun added.

Bai Ruozhu was amazed, ”That’s really enlightening. I thought it was carved fish shapes, but they’re natural. Coming here, I feel like a bumpkin.”

Jiang Yichun chuckled, ”How can we easily see things from the seabed in everyday life?”

Bai Ruozhu tilted her head, contemplating whether to pry these Shimmering Fish Stones off and place them in the Space, when suddenly, the ground shook violently. She lost her balance and fell into Jiang Yichun’s arms.

Jiang Yichun hurriedly steadied himself, holding her with one hand and the oil lamp with the other, his face slightly serious.

”What’s happening? Is it an earthquake?” Bai Ruozhu asked, quickly realizing something was wrong. She should have been able to use her light martial arts to maintain balance, but under this quake, she couldn’t!

Jiang Yichun was also in the same predicament; the two of them directly fell to the ground.

”Why is this happening?” Jiang Yichun’s oil lamp fell, rolling towards the direction from which they came.

They both noticed that the ground tilted towards the Main Gate, so the oil lamp rolled towards the Main Gate. If there was no obstacle, it would roll to the passage with abysses on both sides; if it couldn’t pass through the passage, it would fall into the abyss.

Jiang Yichun drew his sword, stabbed it into the ground, grabbed the sword with one hand and held Bai Ruozhu’s waist with the other.

”This is too strange. Is this how the Palace gets rid of intruders?” Bai Ruozhu said.

Jiang Yichun frowned because, even though his sword was deeply embedded in the earth, it was sliding down, indicating they were sliding as well!

”Grab the pavilion’s pillars; you go first.” Jiang Yichun used his inner strength to throw Bai Ruozhu up into the Liang Pavilion.

Bai Ruozhu immediately hugged a pillar and extended a hand towards him, ”Come over!”

Unexpectedly, Jiang Yichun’s sword slid down further, and the distance between them widened. Jiang Yichun’s feet couldn’t utilize his inner strength; he clearly couldn’t jump into the pavilion.

”Achun, catch!” Bai Ruozhu was anxious, but in a moment of clarity, she quickly untied her belt and tossed it towards Jiang Yichun below.

Unfortunately, Jiang Yichun slid further down, and the belt wasn’t long enough!

”Don’t come over, I’ll find a way!” Jiang Yichun quickly said, knowing Ruozhu’s nature. She was sure to rush over to stay with him, but he couldn’t let her fall into danger too.

Bai Ruozhu’s heart was pounding. If Jiang Yichun kept sliding like this, he’d surely fall into the abyss on the right side of the passage they just entered.

But she couldn’t panic; she needed to calm down.

Quickly, she had an idea and took out a piece of Hemp rope from the Space, tossing it swiftly to Jiang Yichun.

”In my panic, I forgot the Space still had Hemp rope.” Seeing Jiang Yichun grab the rope, she finally breathed a sigh of relief.

She looped one end of the rope around the golden pavilion pillar and pulled hard. Soon, Jiang Yichun was pulled up, crawling into the pavilion.

Bai Ruozhu panted heavily. Her inner strength seemed useless; she had to rely on her own strength to pull up against the ground’s slippage while lifting a grown man, nearly exhausting her.

The two leaned against each other, breathing heavily.

”No, did you notice that in the pavilion, we’re not affected by the downward pull,” Jiang Yichun said.

Bai Ruozhu also suddenly realized that if things were as before, they should be clinging to the pavilion’s pillars, bodies dangling outside, but this time they were sitting in the pavilion quite relaxedly.

”Who would have thought that checking out a pavilion would come with such a benefit? This place is too bizarre. Given the tilting angle, shouldn’t we be unable to stand firm and fall down? Is there some kind of Array?” Bai Ruozhu speculated.

Jiang Yichun nodded, ”Let’s rest before we continue.”

In the pavilion, the shaking was less intense. Bai Ruozhu took some food and water from the Space, and the two replenished their strength.

After about two ke, the ground finally stopped shaking, and the pavilion and stone bricks returned to their original state.

Jiang Yichun tested it; walking out of the pavilion wouldn’t cause him to fall.

”Let’s continue forward,” Jiang Yichun suggested. Turning around, he saw his wife leaning in the pavilion, asleep!

”Ruozhu!” Jiang Yichun rushed over to call her. Ruozhu wouldn’t just fall asleep suddenly; it wasn’t normal!

He knew some Medical Skills, immediately feeling Bai Ruozhu’s pulse; she wasn’t unconscious or poisoned, but genuinely asleep.

His heart was anxious, calling Bai Ruozhu’s name several times to no avail. He dared not shake her vigorously, fearing something might go wrong.

Meanwhile, Bai Ruozhu had just walked through a patch of mist, ”Achun? Where did you go? Why did you disappear in the blink of an eye?”

Unfortunately, nobody answered her. She took two steps forward, fearing she might get further from Jiang Yichun, so she stepped back, calling loudly, ”Achun, can you hear my voice?”

The surroundings were very quiet, with not even an echo.

She quickly glanced around. The pavilion? The distant sound of water? Where did they go?
