Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 2671: Chapter 2672: The Promise

”Why should I lift your curse? Who do you think you are?” The dragon’s voice suddenly turned low, and its body twisted and flew out.

Jiang Yichun looked up at the sky, the enormous dragon body was so large that two adults holding hands couldn’t wrap around it, and that dragon body was pure white like jade. This was a pure white dragon, even its horns were white.

However, upon closer inspection, this white dragon was surrounded by a faint black fog, and its snow-white body was somewhat transparent.

”I haven’t done anything wrong to you, nor do I owe you anything. I just want to lift the curse and live a simple life with my wife and children. I can try my best to meet your conditions.” Jiang Yichun tried hard to speak calmly. Even if he lost his temper, he was not a match for this white dragon, its mere pressure could injure his Divine Sense.

The white dragon snorted coldly, ”Who made you the descendants of Merfolk, all of you Merfolk are evil, I just want to see you unable to live old, watch you being tortured by pain!”

”Then why did you bring me here? You could just watch me tortured by the curse?” Jiang Yichun narrowed his eyes, ”There must be evil dragons among you too, right? If one did something bad, shouldn’t it all be counted on you?”

”Nonsense! We dragons live separately, unlike you Merfolk who live in groups.” The white dragon roared in anger, causing Jiang Yichun’s head to ache.

”But I’m not living with the Merfolk, I only know two Merfolk to this day. One was born with a tail and was driven out by the Merfolk during childhood to survive on his own. The other had a father who was Merfolk, he was born in Zhongyuan to a human. My mother is Merfolk, but I’ve never seen her. It’s said that after giving birth to me, she was captured by other Merfolk.” Jiang Yichun suddenly felt a bit sad, ”I don’t know the grievances between you and the Merfolk, nor do I expect my words to change your attitude towards me. But after telling me so much, you must want me to do something, right?”

”Your mother went to Zhongyuan?” The white dragon asked, somewhat puzzled.

”She might have been a Merfolk saintess, my father heard those who captured her back then mentioned that name.” Jiang Yichun decided to tell everything.

The white dragon suddenly quieted down, looking at him with a gaze full of unclear meanings, and only spoke after a long time. ”The curse is on all Merfolk and started long ago. I can’t lift the curse for just one person unless you can find my Dragon Pearl. Only when the Dragon Pearl returns to my body can I lift the curse.”

”Is the Dragon Pearl on Merfolk Island?” Jiang Yichun asked.

”Travel east for seven or eight days from here, and you will find Merfolk Island. I would have taken back my Dragon Pearl long ago had I not fallen for their tricks and been trapped here. Those damn deceitful Merfolk!” The white dragon shouted in a somewhat uncontrolled emotion.

Jiang Yichun painfully covered his head, ”Calm down, if I die here, I won’t be able to help you find the Dragon Pearl.”

Mentioning the Dragon Pearl, the white dragon calmed down, returning Jiang Yichun to Bai Ruozhu’s side in an instant.

”You go find the Dragon Pearl, your woman stays as a hostage!” The white dragon said while curling the unconscious Bai Ruozhu in its tail.

”No!” Jiang Yichun’s face changed drastically, and he shouted urgently, ”Without you lifting the curse, I will soon die. Why need to take my wife hostage? I’m already going to help you retrieve the Dragon Pearl, and it will be very difficult dealing with an entire island of Merfolk. Without Ruozhu helping me, how can I get the Dragon Pearl alone?”

The white dragon sneered, ”What can a woman do to help you?”

An icy voice suddenly rose, ”You say what can a woman do?”

A sharp dagger was already pressed near the dragon’s neck, and the Furball flew close to the white dragon’s eye, ready to attack at any moment.

”Ha, you think you can hurt me?” The white dragon tightened as it wrapped Bai Ruozhu with its tail.

”It’s not important if I can hurt you, as long as I can help retrieve the Dragon Pearl. Also, let me remind you, you’ve been poisoned.” Bai Ruozhu coldly laughed.

She had woken a moment earlier, feeling worried and tense, yet staying calmer. So when the white dragon brought Jiang Yichun back, she pretended to remain unconscious, and even when the dragon coiled her, she kept her composure.

The white dragon moved, indeed noticing its body felt heavy, its actions slower, and experiencing waves of numbness internally.

”Poison won’t kill me, my dragon blood can purify poison, and I can detoxify myself in a few days.” The white dragon said.

”I don’t want to poison you to death either, if you die, who will help my husband lift his curse? So let’s each take a step back, let us go, and we’ll figure out a way to find the Dragon Pearl.” Bai Ruozhu said.

The white dragon snorted, flicked its tail, throwing Bai Ruozhu out. Jiang Yichun flew up, catching her in mid-air, and landed smoothly on the ground.

”Here’s the antidote.” Bai Ruozhu tossed a medicine bottle, but the white dragon flicked its head, knocking the bottle back, ”Don’t need it.”

Bai Ruozhu caught the medicine, not saying much, pulling Jiang Yichun as they walked outside.

Unexpectedly, they spent half the day trying but found no treasure, only encountering a white dragon.

At least they gained such crucial information.

Jiang Yichun found a safe place, relayed the white dragon’s words to Bai Ruozhu, and then said, ”I think it’s not lying, and it seems unable to leave the Main Hall, also has deep hatred for Merfolk.”

Bai Ruozhu sighed, ”I never imagined the Merfolk’s curse came about like this. I wonder if all Merfolk know this, they even drove Duannian away, despite originally having fish tails themselves.”

”I find it amusing, they go to great lengths to remove their tails to live on land, only to exchange for thirty years of lifespan. I wonder if they feel happy about it.” Jiang Yichun coldly laughed.

”Perhaps they think living a lifetime of beauty and not aging is worth it?” Bai Ruozhu shook her head, ”Let’s preemptively find Sibao, it’s probably scared on its own.”

While speaking, they reached the entrance, seeing Sibao sleeping by the stairs, drooling slightly, dreaming of who knows what.

Bai Ruozhu picked it up, ”Still just a child.”

Jiang Yichun suddenly frowned, ”I was too shocked by the white dragon’s words earlier, forgot to ask how to leave.”

”Let’s go ask again, that dragon is very proud, wouldn’t make a move on us.” Bai Ruozhu thought of the dragon’s refusal of the antidote; truly arrogant, no wonder it was tricked by the Merfolk.

Sibao slept deeply, Bai Ruozhu holding it, followed Jiang Yichun back into the Main Hall, hearing the white dragon’s painful roar from afar.

Outside the Main Hall, nothing could be heard, but inside the sound was clear, showing the hall door isolated sounds within.

”Why is it so painful?” Bai Ruozhu asked in surprise, unlikely caused by her poison, right?
